The US policy of "strategic patience" with North Korea has ended, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has said during a visit to South Korea.
"All options" were on the table and the US was exploring a "new range of diplomatic, security and economic measures", he said.
North Korea has sparked concern with recent missile and nuclear tests.
Mr Tillerson spoke shortly after visiting the Demilitarized Zone which divides the two Koreas.

I assume some portion of those guns won't actually function when the time comes to pull the cord because they're 50 years old and probably haven't been well maintained or lack reliable ammunition. Combined with initial air strikes on those guns and ground based systems intercepting the shells that do get fired damage to Seoul could probably be brought down to the level where it would be considered "acceptable" in the event of open conflict.
