Just got through with my first night shift of my new job. Gonna be bringing home about 4k a month. Huge step up from my pizza delivery gig I had before. What does Sup Forums do and how much do you make? How much money is enough for an unmarried white male? (Will be marrying my QT 3.14 white gf within the next year or so)

Also, what happened to this flight?

I make about 2k after taxes which I consider more than enough for an unmarried white male.

I could easily feed a GF with this salary too but I am currently saving up to get a master's degree that should give me the opportunity to earn twice as much.

Life is good when you set goals for yourself. Always remember that, kids.

What masters are you doing?

Having recently escaped NEET life and earned a good degree I'm really thinking about a longer term career.

They look barely 1/4th black lol

Unironically, I'm an airline pilot.

Make 205K in 2016.

Here's some more female pilot propaganda.

>two african-american pilots
>look, they're 1/8 african, let's call them african-american so we show everybody that black females can do white jobs

kek

Approx 3% of US pilots airline pilots are black.

Not sure if that statistic includes people who are a fraction black, like those 2 Delta pilots in the photo.

Lame article:

>What masters are you doing?
Aerospace.

205k is pretty good for an airline pilot. When did you start?
Coincidentally, I'm one of the guys who is working on getting rid of your job by coming up with ways to automate air travel.
I'm not surprised to see meme crews like in OP's pic - you can pay pilots less and less because responsibilities are shrinking.
The second officer already was done away with years ago in all airlines over here and the co-pilot is going to get the axe soon as well.

earn £2k per month, a pittance in London but i still manage to save £800-1000 per month so i can't complain.

most people here on that salary struggle to save anything, and are constantly paying off credit cards and drinking their wages.

3% is still low considering overall percentage of blacks in US

you must work for a top one? pilots here make shit money

I've been flying airline since 1999. (I'm one of the over 40 posters on /pol since I'm often bored as fuck on layovers)

2nd, you're full of shit. In the US, the regs are 2 man flight crews for under 8 hours block. 3 man from 8-12 hours block. 4 man crew for 12+ hours.

These rules aren't going anywhere. They aren't changing in Europe in my career time either. Your German Wings boy who flew into the Swiss alps helped made sure of that.

£28,000

my last job paid £20,000 so that was a big step up. Going to do a professional qualification and that should put me up at £40,000 in 2 years.

just want enough money to move out of the parent's house, rent a 1 bed flat for myself and drive a half decent car.

>tfw rejected from Cathay Pacific Cadet Scheme
I'll just have to stick to flying old Cessnas for n-now.

Do you live on Lantau Island?

In the US, a lot of them make shit as well. We call these "regional" airlines. They are generally viewed as a stepping stones in the civilian career path. For example, the typical civilian career track for a US airline pilot is:
College (all end-game airlines require a 4 year degree)
Get your ratings up through flight instructor on your own time and nickel
Flight instruct for 1-2 years
Regional FO (co pilot) for 1-3 years
Regional CA (captain) for 2-4 years
Apply to all the end-game airlines (United, American, Delta, FedEX are generally considered the best). Some will add Southwest and UPS as end-game airlines as well. I don't.

The guys who get stuck at the regionals
(skywest, Air Wisconsin, Republic, Envoy, etc) top out at approx 100K and they have to work their ass off for it. In relative terms, i barely worked for my 205K. The guys who get stuck at the LCCs (low cost carriers) like JetBlue, Spirit, Allegiant, can top out at 120-150K but also bust their ass for it.

kek

I'm on a layover. You can't pay me to live here.

Crane Operator, $2500/net week.

>co-pilots getting the axe
Now that is some class bollocks.

Congrats on new gig. Hope is works out brother.

got it. what did you think about US Airways Flight 1549 (miracle on the Hudson)? would you have done the same thing?

The guy who posted that is probably some naive kid fresh out of college.

Technological progress doesn't stop. Airlines used to have a 3rd crew member called "the flight engineer". He didn't fly the airplane. He sat sideways and balanced fuel and manually paralleled AC generators. Some companies still fly aircraft with flight engineers, typically 3rd tier freight operators still operating 757-200s and -300s.

Technology eventually made the flight engineer go away. Some day, when we've progressed to space travel, I picture singe pilot airlines. But not anytime soon.

Supposedly Hong Kong Airlines went through a rapid expansion and hoovered up a heap of Western senior captains, maybe if you got silly money as well you could consider it.

Lantau at least has some green space on it left so it's bearable.

Id like to say, yes, I would have.

Airlines don't train dual engine flameouts in the simulator. It's considered something that is never supposed to happen, and if it does, there is no way to train for it since every circumstance will be different (i.e. Airspeed, altitude, surrounding terrain, visibility, etc at the time of the dual flameout)

The human tendency is naturally to turn back towards the departure airport (if it happens shortly after take off like the US Air flight) and at least crash on a paved surface.

Sully knew that he didn't have the airspeed/altitude for that and he chose to ditch in the Hudson.

Why don't you go to SNAPCHAT Y .ME to fap to school's hottest girl's nudes.

> night shift of my new job. Gonna be bringing home about 4k
Factory (steel-thingumadingums) worker here, also night shift 5.5K a month (in US currency). But that's in an almost completely socialist country and before even income tax is paid. I don't think income and need is comparable due to the vast difference in our countries socio-economic setups. Unfortunately, unless Trump really manage to stop it, you will be drifting in our direction (and end up paying an actual 60 to 85 percent of your workers income in various taxes).

And I recon they renamed the cockpit on that flight.

I'm American and like living in the States. I fly a lot of international though.

I don't think so hey, what with all the focus on layering redundancy having a second pilot to take over is always going to be a good idea. Besides, it would be a shame if all that study for CRM was for nothing.

But yeah, RIP flight engies.

Railway construction/maintenece
Take home 100k+ a year doing overtime fairly often
Look into it if you're a poor fag
All you really need is a license, no criminal history and clean piss. Good luck

savage

Those are the whitest "African-Americans" I've ever seen.

And that's including that lady who wasn't even born African American.

What do you need for this?

I pay approx 28% of my 205K in federal
Income taxes (again, im a US citizen on a layover)

Things like health insurance, medical, dental, life insurance, 401K, union dues (2%), aren't included in that 25-28% figure. State income tax as well (depending on what state you claim as your residence)

But euro 40% taxes are insanity (to me).

You probably should have a look at SNAPCHAT Y .ME to share your ex-gfs nudes.

I wanted to be a pilot but it's literally impossible unless you have billionaire parents.

>Flight academy costs $200,000
>You're not eligible for a student loan

It's for fatigue too.

US Airlines are subject to, per the FAA:
Flights of less than 8-9 hours (depending on which rule set your company operates under) require a 2 man crew
8-12 (or 9-12 depending on which ruleset you are under) require 3 guys
12+ require 4

This is so 1-2 guys are sleeping in the bunks (inb4 gay sex) and then swap out with the guys flying so they can rack out.

You aren't going to see one dude in the cockpit of a 15 hour ORD-HKG leg.

It would be a death sentence.

KEK

I would just go visit SNAPCHAT Y .ME to leak local sluts nudes.

Why don't you go to SNAPCHAT Y .ME to fap to local sluts nudes.

NEET, $0.00/Month

Only half true.

It's free if you learn to fly for Uncle Sam
(My dad was a former Navy A4 pilot turned Pan Am then United)

But you're right with respect to the civilian track, which is what I did. My dad paid for it. My college + fly lessons set him back approx 100K. And that was in the late 1990s.

No clue what it would cost now.

once I held that first $10k in my hands I learned there's never a thing as enough money. you should never aspire to make $Xk a year. if you are that's OK but you should always dream bigger. come back at me when u make $1.5m in a month.

These light skin niggas...

You wouldn't be able to tell they were black until you opened the picture and squinted.

What was the scariest experience you've had in your years as a pilot?

What's with the Snapchat spam fags?

arms

>It's free if you learn to fly for Uncle Sam

Explorered this route too. They can put you anywhere.

Say you join wanting to be a pilot they can go "nah you're a chef now".

Thankfully it hasn't been that bad and I've been flying since '99

Never been shot at
Lost an engine once (2x engine aircraft) right after take off during gear retraction.

But the scariest stuff has generally been flying through some nasty weather in the middle of the night in SE Asia (see Castaway....)

>British military wont even train me as a pilot because they say I'm too old

I'm 27 for fuck sake.

This is absolutely true.

Pilot slots for the US services (especially the Navy, being a fighter pilot on a carrier is hands down the most badass job that ever existed in aviation) are incredibly competitive. You are competitive with your classmates 24/7 for points for a limited number of pilot slots.

And even once you "get there", the washout rate is approx 50%. I.e. half
The guys who make it to pilot training don't graduate and are sent to other career tracks.

That's the reason I didn't go that route like Dad did. I'm not that competitive.

Like i give a fuck about who flies my plane. As long isn't mohammed or andreas lubitz i'm fine

Ever see any UFOs? Cmon bro, you're among friends here, spill the fucking beans and don't be a nigger.

There are slower routes to the airlines.
Budget PPL building hours to commercial licence then bugger around remote regions like Alaska or island hopping in Indonesia or bush flying in southern africa for small charter companies getting paid pennies but doing it to build hours. Keep this up for a few years aquiring multi engines and relevant ratings till you get the hours the airlines want or just aim to get lucky on a paid for cadet scheme. Most cadetships badically require you to mortage a house against it sadly.

25 is the cutoff pham, bad luck.

I am a 21 year old white male. Security guard and make 1k per month

I work mostly at construction sites, but sometimes my boss makes me go to a hotel or apartment complex which really sucks because i have to deal with drunk people as a skinny white kid.

I make minimum wage, which is 10.50 here in California.

I am also a student at community college, so i should admit that i am not in the same category as you. When i graduate, i better make at least 65k or i will kms.

Good luck with your job user, hope everything works out.

>But euro 40% taxes are insanity (to me).
heh, your job seems to have send you this way now and then. Because 40% is effin close. Normally people guess wayyyy of if they never been to a new-socialist Euro-contry. 41% is the exact number. And it includes regional tax. However, this is for the lowest possible income up to ... something out of a factory workers reach. So yeah, even if you only earn a few hundred bucks a month, 41% taken from your paycheck before you even see the money. And any deductibles one one might have, can not even be applied to the first 8 out of those 41. Guess where all that free stuff '''they''' talk about comes from when they compare to Scandinavian countries

Sadly I haven't. I'd be the first one to take a cell phone pic and post it online.

One of the coolest things I've seen recently is flying across almost all of Siberia during a clear day.

Pic related. It took it. This Siberia from
FL320

It went on like this for hours, at Mach .81

Make the Rockies seem "small"

To "build hours" you have to rent a plane out which is expensive. Even doing your PPL is expensive.

The cost at becoming a commercial pilot has a hard cost you wont be able to get for cheap because it takes a certain amount of hours minimum to get a licence and renting a plane for an hour has a cost.

Well that's because flying is just sky swimming, and we all know how niggers can't swim.

Own a few block plants and yards in the south west. I pay myself 100k a year.

I build tiny houses as well, thats kept me pretty busy in the last few years. I probably make 50k a year doing that as a hobby.

Yup. I layover in Köln and Paris a fair bit.

Thankfully I don't have to pay your taxes though.

Europe is fantastic to visit

(Just to let /pol know, I've never been raped by a refugee)

>hasnt seen any strange stuff in the sky

Yeah, I guess I wouldn't want to risk a 250k a year salary either.

Still a shame we won't get an honest answer here.

>license
do they still want the manual meme or is auto accepted?

>female
One of them might be mistaken for a woman but the other one is obviously male.

My boss at work actually got the government to completely fund a private pilots licence for him somehow.

He said it was "some loophole" that they closed after him and his group of friends did it.

how many flight attendants have you taken into the cockpit?

Honestly, it's a tough a career path, regardless if you go civ or military.

Both require a full 4 year college degree
Both require submission to random drug tests.
Both require sacrificing for a LONG time

These 3 x things exclude most people.

Throw in the fact that the civilian track requires parents who can pay a 100K+
bill......

And yeah, there is a pilot shortage about to hit.

Millennials simply aren't interested.

What you doing?

I know, I have a PPL and I'm on that route myself
Just pointing out that there are other ways to the airlines than throwing £110 000 at CTC Aviation over a 2 year period for a frozen ATPL for example.

Some young pilots work in ops while they build their hours and scrape by.

Well, when multiple lives are involved, stringent requirements explain make sense.

Millenials are garbage. Entitled, low drive, low aptitude. Automation can't come soon enough.

I made 205K in 2016. Not 250

And believe me, I would have posted all over my Facebook the instant I saw a "UFO"

I really haven't. This is not a joke.

One thing I did do, just to be a dick, it's type in some Chemtrail tin-foil text into the ACARS free text page

Pic realated. It's OC

Feel free to save and send to any Chemtrail tards.

Nigerian student in Finland.

I import electric motorcycles from the US and resell them. I made about €35k in profit after taxes on the side last year while still being a full time engineering student.

bruh what airline do you fly for
I'm a ramp agent for Alaska Airlines
also fucking keking at the chemtrails thing

They come up every leg. They bring you your crewmeals, Cokes, and sometimes just come up to see the view on a nice day.

Prior to 9/11, we used to let passengers in the cockpits. Especially kids that waned to see all the buttons.

Post 9/11, no more pax up front tho.

>And yeah, there is a pilot shortage about to hit.
>Millennials simply aren't interested.

Maybe they should make it so you don't have to be a billionaire or remortgage a house to train.

i meant sexually

Those two are black?

>10.50 an hour at 23 doing CNA work
if I have to do this for another year I will literally kill myself

Here's one more with the dome light on.

Won't dox myself any further (since /pol has made the news, I'm officially a Nazi for posting on here)

Now now, be nice. You've already sold your soul and conscience for money.

Ayyy you cheeky cunt m89

/pol will call me degenerate, but I've fucked about 30 or so of them

Including knocking one up. Yes, I pay child suppprt.

I make maybe 800 bucks a month 500 used between rent/student loan

I work 2 shitty fast food jobs just to make ALMOST full time.

If I cant get into the army i'm gonna go grab a shitty trade school thing for welding or something equally i'll hate my life doing yet get paid enough to afford permavirgin hobbies and finally get my shit together.

Low Aptitude? Ever heard of the Flynn Effect? What are you a Gen X?

>Post 9/11, no more pax up front tho.
That's sad. I got to do that when I was about 6 years old (DC9 from somewhere in the Jutland sticks to Copenhagen) Awesome experience. I remember more from that one flight than most other stuff from when I was 6

jesus christ lad, degenerate filth

Heh

Not much different than being a layer. Except the view from my office is better.

And I work a lot less days per year

Pic I took departing ANC in the day

>Post 9/11, no more pax up front tho.
hope this changes with more automation in the future, never went anywhere by plane as a child due to being poorfag really feel like i missed out

fucking this
remember wanting to become a pilot
then realizing that I would never be able afford the training, and the college degree
that's why I got a job at the airport as a ramp agent, so I could be near the things I love, and fucking have a decent job too
also fuck modern planes, bring back shit like the early widebodies, I miss classic 747s and death cruisers with their beautiful analog cockpits

I can't wait to be an airline pilot now!

I HAVE A FUCKEN DELTA FLIGHT IN 1.5 HOURS

Hey dude, congratulations, we're in just about the same position right now in life. Not sure how soon the wedding will be, but I found the woman it will be with, and I also upgraded my job.

I went from being a security site supervisor making barely $2k a month and taking my work home with me, and babysitting retards and making excuses for them when they fuck up to doing security with a pipeline where I get to sit in a truck and dick around on my laptop all night, making about 4k a month also.

I spend the whole time I'm here on the laptop studying C programming, I already know a fuckton of python, and after I will probably dabble in Unity and make a game for fun, or just keep upgrading my tech skills until I get a new career.

If it doesn't end up happening with the IT skills / programming thing, I'll probably work with the pipeline as a labourer or something, so I can support my woman and the babies I make her give birth to.

Am I the only one who read the text?

kek

i work in some trash/waste/garbage plant, i net something like 0.8-1.3K€ a month after taxes.
i'm able to save something like 2.5k a year.
30 y.o here, i accepted my destiny, i'll die wage-cuck. Socialism.

>/pol will call me degenerate
Most wont, well, maybe if the one you knocked up was black. Else, you'll just be called Chad

Ya I knew that wa coming

This will further degenerate my career, but there is a term we use:
Road wife

Ie, she's your wife on the road (the trip you're on), then when the trip is over, it's done, and you both go back to your respective (and actual) spouse.

Sorry to disappoint /pol

What happens on the road, stays on the road.

Until you get one pregnant. Which I did.

>Won't dox myself any further
Same reason I produce thingumadingums at my job. Saying exactly what and knowing my nationality, would narrow it down to a few dozen people

I despatch our fleet of luxury vehicles to VIP's ... for some reason they pay me 90k+ to do so
