Could America have recovered from the Great Depression without involvement in the war?

How did FDR's New Deal fail to create the recovery needed?
Could a different politician have instituted a plan that would have worked?

FDR was a fascist and his policies are what are sucking us dry today.

also he got us involved in a war we had no business in and 450,000 Americans died and probably 2-3 million were wounded.

so fuck FDR

>was a fascist
No way, he'd be a lot cooler if he was.

>faccism =/= Nazism

he was the gayest form of fascism, we are essentially still living under it

>democratically elected politician who had to work with other branches of government to get his shit done
Nah, he's just a bad president.

>work with other branches

top kek nah m8

He was the first modern example of socialism in America, and the New Deal failed because the very concept of "government creates jobs" has never been true or worked.

It was a ruse to ensure people would become invalids and reliant on government support for generations. Remember the nonsense that was "social security"? Yeah, FDR did that too.

The only good that came out of him was term limits. He nearly destroyed the country economically. He just so happened to be president during wartime during uncertainty, and people want security during those periods. Changing leadership in the midst of a war generally never happens.

He is one of the top five presidents of the USA and handled his hurdles brilliantly. The guy is a legend and was completely beloved by the American people because he saved them time and time again. Of course, Sup Forums hates him because Sup Forums is always on the wrong side of history.

his economic policies were great, very similar to the NSDAP. i only hate him for opposing Hitler

>>democratically elected politician who had to work with other branches of government to get his shit done
Literally Hitler

More proof cripples should be gassed.

A commie fuck who, in the long run, bankrupted America with his socialist bullshit. Literally one of the worst presidents ever and responsible for the biggest problems America currently faces

What was good about his policies?

basically, he was able to increase aggregate demand, thus getting employment back to its natural level

...

How did he go about doing that? I'm only really familiar with the WPA and the hiring of unmarried men to go do CCC stuff.

the public works administration and social security act among other things

The embodiment of "short term rise, long term fall"

how so? according to mainstream theories of long-term growth, investment in infrastructure is vital

>Finland
>country's GDP less than 1% of America's
>pretending to understand economics

"Mainstream theories" is a nice term for liberal bullshit

>>country's GDP less than 1% of America's
haha, you do realize that's because america has 70 times the population of finland, right? our gdp per capita is roughly the same. also not an argument

Noooo, really? I had no idea! I mean it's not like that was the entire point of the post or anything.

So you just proved my point. Your idea of "economics" works in your country because you have a population of 5.5 million people. Your country produces nothing of world interest and is not a major exporter of any significant goods. Your GDP is not relative because your population and population density is hardly comparable to the US's, which is 330,000,000. Your population is almost 2% of America's

Don't pretend to understand how economics works
