I see the future of automation, and it's not pretty

There won't be a basic income. Because the elites won't worry about the gradual mass unemployment, since as long as they are in power, it's a self resolving problem.

Let's say in the near future, you've just lost your job to a robot, there's no UBI, and you're too old/poor to switch to a shrinking list of careers. What are your options?

1) Kill yourself and your family before starvation
2) Turn to crime, eventually ending in incarceration or killed
3) Join radical politics, see above

Given automation will occur over a span of decades, the process is akin to the boiling frog analogy. Mass unemployment won't happen overnight, the elimination of the middle/working class will just progress on its own, until there's only two types of humans left on earth: the elite class, and the dying class of employees with the skill sets that the elites keep around to sustain their wellbeing, such as security, law enforcement, engineers, software devs, surgeons, high class escorts etc.

>But if most humans are gone, who's gonna buy all the products to keep the elites going lol

Before the consumer/labor class is entirely eliminated, a fully automated workforce will allow the elites to become fully self sufficient. Why worry about revenues, when your private, automated farms, factories and mines will make sure your kind live long enough to turn the entire planet into a depleted wasteland.

In summary, your only ticket to survive the future, is to gain an employable skill so valuable, someone like Warren Buffet will care enough to learn your name

Automation = depopulation

I can't be replaced by a robot. my job requires too much contextual judgement.

even if they automated all factoy jobs tomorrow, it would take at least 40 years for robots to be able to do my job.

>There won't be a basic income.
Aha. And who is going to consume all the shitty products?

>to intelligent to be replaced by robot
no, you're not.

you don't even know, bruh. And I'm not even going to tell you, because I do not give a damn if you believe me or not.

Now getet back to your grill, McWorker.

>Why worry about revenues, when your private, automated farms, factories and mines will make sure your kind live long enough to turn the entire planet into a depleted wasteland.
>your kind
The elite aren't driven by a wish to see the current elite stagnate. Each member of the elite cares only for themselves. Why worry about revenue? To become relatively better off than other people. Personal success is what drives these people and personal success is measured by relative luxury. The poorest of Americans are better off than ancient Roman aristocrats, yet today's poor consider themselves to be doing badly while ancient Roman aristocrats considered themselves to be doing well.
Elites will not be satisfied with just being "fully self sufficient" and equal to everyone else. They are driven to do better than their peers.

>to intelligent to describe why my job can't be automated

>flag checks out
welp boys guess it's over for us

What are some jobs safe from automation? All I can think of would be legal/justice jobs and plumbing/carpentery/construction so far.

I see you stopped reading right there. Finish the post

With most of earth depopulated, they can focus on competing amongst themselves. They don't need us once their resources can be automated

I agree entirely with this post.
We could put an end to it now before it is too late.
But most people are too stupid. They love there smart phones and celebrity horseshit on TV.
Soon the robocops will be here to keep us in line and kill off dissenters.

op wants to go back to books and beast of burden

First, the Chinese sweatshops and illegal immigrants (mass production robots, self-checkouts at the grocery store), then the H1B Hindi Bindis (artificial learning and neural nets). Nobody is immune.

>legal/justice jobs
Bots are already so much better and cheaper at this.

Robot engineering.

Daily reminder that the God of Israel has lost all power. The Jews have lost all power and influence over the gentiles. The Jews will not succeed in their plans.

robots will make robots

>legal/justice jobs
those are actually the first to go
90% of legal work is clerical and research, there are already firms using Watson to supplement their work.

>implying it even going to get that far
user i dont know how to tell you this but once full automation get here we are going to be culled.

we will take care of the robots.

so dig up your yard and grow some corn.

> tfw i'm automation engineer

automation has its limits chink... just like everything else.

Think about this: Firearms are fucking old as shit. everyone has been trying to perfect them-- massive state actors investing billions to make them deadlier and more effective

To this day they still are loud as fuck--still need bullets-- muzzle flash-- heavy, etc.

Robots will not take all your jobs and they sure as hell aren't taking ANY TRUCKING JOBS YOU FUCKING AUTISTS... technology has limits.

Think about Vidya... the best AI youv'e ever gone against is still dumb as a rock-- and thats that its in a constrained world with fixed variables. the real world has infinite variables that render AI ineffective

I have been saving my meager wages and now have enough capital to attend college or invest in other skills or whatever.

What do I do to become middle class for the next 30 years?

>I see you stopped reading right there.
This is true, but then again your idea about self sufficiency is rubbish. There's no power in that. At all.

To relate your post to this user's post, even if society is automated to a tremendous degree, those left out of work will have it much better than anyone in previous generations. Automation progresses alongside living standards and technology.

>tfw comfy automated house in the mountains
Only shitskins and retards will suffer. This is why i went into robotics, learned carpentry/painting from my Grandpa, and had a family friend teach me about electrical work, I even took up a plumbing job for 2 years and did everything for my house

What jobs in specific? I don't see a robocop or some machine paralegal or lawyer being able to drastically change the availability of those jobs in the time it would take you to get a pension from said jobs.

Jokes on you, I'm an automation engineer. We're making bang off this conversion

hopefully it becomes race war instead and we re enslave blacks and spics

>we will take care of the robots
More like you'll prep the electrical bull

>República Dominicana
Idiota

>carpentery/construction
They can 3d print a house in 24 hrs now

Trucker detected. You really think that transportation wont be one of the first lines of work to go?

Im not going to archive because im busy.

theverge.com/2016/4/7/11383392/self-driving-truck-platooning-europe

latimes.com/projects/la-fi-automated-trucks-labor-20160924/

Same. Just graduated. I feel like a fucking retard surrounded by people who don't understand and tell me I did a good job. We're so fucked if we don't reverse this.

Where do you see the changes being?

TOP KEK

Automation may actually kill capitalism
People need to be earning salaries in order for businesses to earn money and so on, I can't really envision a society where businesses make items/provide services but the populace has no money to spend on them. If UBI isn't possible the system will just crumble. The businesses will eventually fold due to the costs outweighing the income made as people will be too poor.

>aren't taking ANY TRUCKING JOBS YOU FUCKING AUTISTS

lol wut? Trucking jobs are going to be among the first to go, especially for long hauls. Do you think keeping to one lane on an interstate is a tough AI task? A self-driving semi rolling out of a warehouse in California and driving up I5 to roll into a warehouse in Washingon is all they need to automate the majority of miles driven. Truckers may remain around for local deliveries for awhile, but even that will go away eventually.

Is this a fucking joke?

>installs carpet

>You really think that transportation wont be one of the first lines of work to go?

you ever back a 52' trailer into a tight spot?

4) Buy land and become self-sustainable before that happens. The elites won't have a good reason to arrest or kill you since it isn't illegal. They rely on secrecy to keep control and can't do anything about it without exposing their immorality.

>prosti-
Nope, already got child sex bots.

All I can think of is any work that requires any form of creativity (liberal arts), custom work (remodel, commission, architecture, code?) inspection, and medical. These would be hard to replace due to the human element required in them either through contextual decisions, creativity, or ability. That is not to say these fields couldn't be augmented by robotics but complete replacement is some time off.

>what do you mean ability?
Imagine a robot that could single handedly build/remodel a custom bathroom. Or preform any form of inspection where the problems aren't uniform and can resemble other problems.

Dude, factor in the coming civil war, and population migration/death.

Don't bank on any one thing honestly. The world is changing at an exponential pace. The smartest people will diversify. If you see an opportunity, seize it and milk it until the next thing comes up.

as robots spread the need for engineers n programmers will
learn to program now
:)
lower government spending and regulations

Yeah, in ur mom

You ever have a computer with fucking LIDAR that can detect gaps down to .001mm and then plot a path from there?

That's why the right wants to keep gun rights in place so they can easily pass legislation for when they need to cull off the masses by outlawing guns and to kill anyone that owns one.

my job is to supervise a robot so guess im in the clear

Just prior to the 20th century, America required 90% of its labor to be devoted to farming. Less than 50 years later, only 10% of American workforce are farmers. I'd say another 50 years from now 90% of labor can be eliminated.

But this thread isn't about the elimination of jobs, is about how automation will lead to the elimination of humans, with no political incentives to retify this situation

kek

Not to mention the fact that people will still be getting taxed base on household ownership, how on earth are publicly funded services going to keep afloat, firemen, police and doctors will be the very last things to be automated, I can't see them keeping afloat with no public to fund them and no businesses earning enough money to fund them. It's gona be a shit show.

I assume in the OP you're asserting that those people that don't own autonomous production facilities will almost entirely die out. Given this, there is no one to purchase products from the elites, so the elites cannot compete with one another. This is not to their preference.

>you ever back a 52' trailer into a tight spot?

No, but you don't have literal eyes on the back of your truck. You don't have proximity sensors. You might be able to control your truck to the inch because you have skill, but AI vehicle programs have more granular control over power, breaks, and turn angles than a human ever could. You're fooling yourself if you think humans have an advantage in precision tasks.

this is literally the age of get rich or die trying, good luck anons.

Ever heard of railroads? Planes? Guarantee automated cargo trains and dedicated automated air traffic will be standard in 20 years

Is this bait or are you really as stupid as a nigger

t. Amish guy

You are describing the benefits for someone wealthy enough to afford an income stream from automation. People who become unemployed and have no UBI will not benefit at all.

And I already justified why there won't be a UBI

What do you mean no power? What's the difference between owning a human workforce, as opposed to a robotic workforce?

'Murican Working Class: "The sure as hell aren't taking ANY TRUCKING JOBS YOU FUCKING AUTISTS ... technology has limits."

Google & Uber: Hold my beer.

Law enforcement would likely be one of the last fields to get fully automated. I can't see human elites giving such complete trust and power over to robots

least it will be all White once again. Nothing would make me happier than to see shitskins purged from the west permanently. Gooks/Chinks are fine.
I'll be growin my own food, animals, cutting my own wood, etc. I'll be helping as many White people as possible

>my job requires too much contextual judgement.

lemonade.com/
AI in charge of insurance claims, allowing/denying payments, checking for fraud, and whatever else a human would do. All of that under 3 seconds.

I can see them getting more and more underfunded, until they're almost completely privatized and only serve the gated communities of the elites

When there's no need to compete for sales, the elites will compete for raw resources, like the East India Companies of colonialism

You're forgetting one thing; violent revolution.

Having a bunch of young unemployed able bodied men is a recipe for violence and uprising. The elites will ultimately give UBI in return for not having their brains blown

1) Read "Sapiens" and "Homo Deus" by Yuval Noah Harari.

2) Shit yourself.

3) Accept the 3D porn and Soylent Green burritos the elite will offer and die off quietly.

besides the testing for the pre-screening order placements there's also a burger flipper machine. fast food completely automated, from the front of the store to the back. They are probably gonna be one of the first and the most eager to implement these new systems, and will also push hard marketing campaign proving to everyone under the sun how better, safer, cheaper and cleaner it all would be with robots and complete automatization.

AI can't make music, vidya, or art.
This is merely quality control plebs.

Who needs to have a job like that when you can just love off the land?

Save enough cash to buy acres of land and other things and there ya go a farm.

>Go renegade
>Die fighting for humanity...
>....or If you win, free robo waifus
I see its all or nothing.

Read "Homo Deus." AI can make music and literature that humans like better than human work.

Exactly.
The ones who can't are just fat wage cuck shit skins with no original ideas

Yes they can. There is AI capable of making art and music. I'm not in a position to post links though. Look it up.

CHINA POINTS 1500 MISSILES AT TAWAIN ITS HAPPENING

Maybe autistic "humans"
But the rest of us enjoy real art/literature

>What do you mean no power?
Being rich, self sufficient and totally isolated from the rest of the world? Not gonna happen. What's the fucking point?
No. I do you favor, you do me favor. Haha you still owe me. Relations. Trades. Exchanges. That's what humans are, and what they do. And that's power. The power to manipulate.

Just wait, there are already AI that can write beautiful musical compositions 24/7.

When do you think elites have invested so much in surveillance powers and tech? An uprising requires coordination. Give modern communications are digitalized, an attempts of organized revolt will be snuffed out before you get your first group meeting

You're not starting a farm you LARPY artist. Fucking just accept what's coming already.

Or we could just kill all the elites in their homes. Skin their kids alive and feed the hides to coward like OP.

I like my idea best.

Just read the book and then come back shaking, monkey man.

>>such as security, law enforcement, engineers, software devs, surgeons, high class escorts etc.

>software devs
>not being replaced by automation

kek somebody fell for the "software engineering" meme

Aphex Twin has been using programs to compose his albums for over a decade. Its old news.

your dismissing radical politics to early. how do you think change in history ever happened?

That's pretty edgy for a Canadian. But nah, other than random Columbine-y stuff, we're going to be like the Neanderthals, slowly disappeared by our betters. There won't be mass riots.

most people should work in factories
all would be richer
teacher
lawyer
social worker
shrink
are all drain on production
all millions doing that should be in factory making parts for assembled houses
or building more bots

if it ever gets to that point we just kill the elite and everyone who gets in our way. if you die your problems are over and if victorious then you win.

That is implying of course there wouldn't be any sympathetic to their cause

4) Get food cheaper because robots are doing everything for us

>our betters

Cowards like you seriously need to die off. Your genes are inferior.

They're a bunch of fat faggot satanists who's trust fund daddy passed down some cash. Also 70% of inheritors piss away their family's fortune.

Fuck them and fuck you. If something like this happens we kill the whole world. We slaughter the children of the elite and butcher their families.

Crock of bullshit
Do you really believe there will be some sci Fi robo society which will do all shit for us?!
In the future....Of The European Caliphate
Kek. mental masturbators
You nerds need to be gassed.

When the underclass is replaced by robots, the elites will still have to compete among themselves for resources. Oil and minerals are still non replenishable unless they figured a way to get off-earth

>tfw getting paid to do absolutely no work whatsoever

you're a piece of shit

you only think this bc your a chinamen.

construction - 3d printing in large scale - long term.
handy-men related works - also long term, since those would need quite refined robots capable of such tasks.
paralegal work, could be done with AI, much like that insurance company I posted earlier, but in the higher hierarchy of law firms should be fine, even if only to accomodate a sense of tradition. But should be fine on the state side, I doubt we would leave those to robots who can't understand the notion of grafts or whose son they should release from dui's or dead hookers charges.

>When the underclass is replaced by robots
If you don't want a bloody war, and another run on the Bastille, such a process has to be slow, and dampened by social measures... like the basic income. And in the end, underclass wont be replaced (by robots), they will be socially lifted to middle class. Slowly, but steady.
