Do you live in the inner city or something? You make it sound like you live in Detroit or Chicago. This is the best country to do business in by far. Housing is also generally much more affordable and we can actually defend ourselves from criminals and terrorists. Not everything is perfect obviously I wouldn't argue about wars for jews and a few of your other points but you're better here than any European country unless you're poor and obviously better than all the third world shitholes.

My main problem is the embarrassment factor; we used to have a great reputation around the world but now it seems like we're a laughing stock.

It's not a bad app depending on what you expect out of it. Actually looking for a girlfriend on there is not something I's recommend, it's not impossible but the chance of finding a decent/conservative girl on there is marginal at best. The population needed to be constantly replenished by migrants from the countryside. And those cities were like hovels compared to what we have today.
Guess what will happen when the fossil fuels that power industrial civilization start to deplete in earnest. Cities will become the graveyards of the 21st century and their downfall will take out much of the imported migrants here.
