If the monetary construct continues to exist, it will be the most grotesque conceptual abstraction utilized by human beings that should have been phased out hundreds of years ago. Well before the industrial revolution.

All that you mention could make utopia, but who is in that utopia heavily influence whether or not it stays utopia.

Things could be better if most of us could chose our own work, most people want to work, help people, but the system could crash if people use welfare to have fifteen kids they don't care for, or to fund jihad.

If Basic Income is implement now, I would use my time to help seniors who live alone in my neighbourhood, tutor kids, help their parents with chores.

The way things are structure now, caregivers for the elderly get burnt out because they are overworked. It's better for a single senior to have 2 to 3 caregivers who work part-time, but it's not economically sound under current structure. Caregivers are trained, overworked, and then they quit in spite of the money.

It would be better for a caregiver to only work part-time but stay working for seniors,ideally the same senior, for a longer period of time.

I wouldn't burnout working with a senior who is lowly getting worse then dies, because it would only be part-time, and if they were at their own home is way less depressing than listening to them talking about suicide in the nursing home. At the same time, I would be tutoring kids and watching them grow over the years.

The only job where one can care for seniors and kids is being a nanny - but that a nanny has little control over which ours and which family she works for, and she is sometimes abused. At the same time, there are abusive nannies, maybe she's stress, but some NEVER want to care for seniors and children in the first place, but did so, For The Money, it's better that these sort be given what they need to stay out of everybody's way, then to have the incentive of money have them in positions of essential work that they screw up.

Firing someone should be easier. There should be no more Too Big To Fail where the loss of livihood must be considered.

We can have more small businesses, artisanal food items, craft.

I think the existence of volunteering meant that people want to help people. Nowadays, kids need volunteering to pad resumes, but volunteering predated that.

People also hold doors for each other, help mothers with carriages up and down steps, help old people with groceries to their cars. People like helping people. I feel good when I help people.

I say National Healthcare is important, because Americans actually spend more on healthcare than Canadians do, that disappear into the blackhole that is insurance industry profit. Without healthcare, a lot of money has to be tied up in emergency funds.
