Why is everything so political these days?
Before Obama came in, politics was a sort of sideshow that only more enthusiastic individuals follow. Like sports.
Now everyone and their wife's son has their own shitty opinions and you can't talk about the fucking weather without climate change being brought up.
Where did everything go so wrong?

Also, because college has become more accessible / mandatory for people to be somewhat successful and more and more people are attending campuses for post secondary education, it's only natural that people will develop stupid opinions.
Even back in the 70s when George Carlin was doing university tours, he appealed to the Liberals.
Not surprising when you consider 3/5 college professors identify as a liberal, marxist or communist.

I guess it's the media but it's fucking annoying as shit. I will talk about politics for a long time but at the same time I hate it. Most people don't know enough about surrounding materials to understand so many things but if you try to explain it its pic related (because it would take hours of undivided attention to explain history, how different economies work, etc)

There is no such thing as academic honesty anymore, research and data in it's pure state has all but died, so it's not surprising that the masses cite statistics and data like it's the holy gospel because for the last 50 years it's been collected with a result already in mind and research is conducted to prove that result rather than disprove that result.

instead of approaching academics objectively, there are subjective narratives buried deep into the fabric of science. Obama didn't cause that.
