Sovietic degeneration

I believe the early soviet union started as an experiment to see how to completely alienate and bring to degeneracy a former European Empire. A broken economic system, no form of entertainment, meaningless and ugly art, awkward and vacuous monuments, oppressive architecture, no real ideal, no distinctions between men and women and the list goes on.
So, let's celebrate this horrible experiment by posting anything horrible, ugly and alienating from the USSR, like art, buildings, music and stories

This is litteraly all wrong
And by the way they made great music much better than anything we did here at the time
Culturaly speaking we were way worse, although they did make some pretty ugly buildings from Krushchev onwards

Jesus Christ, that's depressing. It looks like a screenshot from a Fallout game.

I think after Stalin it became a simple dictatorship, so his personality obfuscated the original intentions. The very beginning of the soviet union was the absolute hellhole I am talking about.

I know this thread means to envoke despisal of the SU but I think they have an unique aethtic which is cool in it's own way.
That's very important -having an aesthetic. Aesthetics is identity.

What is our , contenporary aethtic?
Fucking refugee welcome billboards, roaming Arab youth , smartphone zombies walking the streets .
Because we have no identity.

the women

Looks like something I built on minecraft when I was 12

cool as fuck

>Thinking that its ugly
No.

Krauts installed Lenin regime in Russia hope krauts will die from their own weapon.

maybe because it's chernobyl? it's hard to imagine something not depressing about it, even though i find it absolutely fascinating

i'd have to disagree about the art thing, the quality of movies, music and more classical things was pretty damn high, the availability to a mere mortal was the issue, but i got to give you that the architecture is godawful

this is the point, the aesthetic of awkward and meaningless shapes has conquered the west as well. This has robbed us of the concept of beauty, the concept of building a monument to remember our heores and our beautiful past

I'm gonna fucking build that right now in Fo4... probably at the fucking starlight drive-in cause that place is my favorite outdoor build area

Early soviet avant garde cinema

It was just an early 20th century thing.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futurism

Plus after the revolution the artists wanted to try something as different from old Imperial style as possible.

a lot of that has to do with the mentality, it was all about how man can bend nature to his will to achieve efficiency, as paradoxical it might seem now, and stuff like that, so the weird industrial gray themed stuff kinda makes sense

Such life in the zone

get out of here stalker

That's quality. You're a philistine, Hans. Back to your Horst-Wessel-Liede

speaking of this, i can't really imagine how the whole stalker aesthetic could work for someone who hasn't dealt with it first hand, living in a post-soviet environment gives a whole new dimension to the experience and general immersion

You are totally correct and if you look at Western European dilletante culture before, during, and after the revolution, you see this hopeful enthusiasm, touting, and constant awarding of the benefit of the doubt. The Soviet experiment is held up as an illustration of "what we can do." The contrast between Christian ethnic feudalism and cutting-edge modernity is celebrated as an undoubtable good. The worst thing the fanboys allow themselves to say is that it's "as bad" as it was before, which is objectively false. The societal experiment idea also explains the massive Anglo-American support for the Bolsheviki, who would not have survived a month without Woodrow Wilson, and the later American support for Mao. If you look at John Dewey in China it might be profitable in terms of this community of creeps and their idea of utopia. Check out John Taylor Gatto's Underground History of American Education.

It swiped Europe very quickly after Kandinski and Malevich. The idea was to destroy the concept of "art" to the point where anything, including human feces in a museum could be equated to Michelangelo's David. The loss of the sense of beauty, to which Europe was a leader in, is the first step towards complete alienation.

>"Who said you could be a poet?"

It's all funny, but after nuclear holocaust future generations will perceive commieblocks as some kind of divine construct. Straight lines will lead future barbarians towards science and development.

Brutalisim is beautiful.
Exposed concrete with dark glass offset with wood or greenery and water is the way of the future.

For some reason I find this pic cool AF.

>glasgow is getting overpopulated
>Let's build a bunch of ugly concrete jungles nearby and call them 'new towns'

youtube.com/watch?v=ty6hKOYCDs0

People were living through the greatest transformation peroid in human history, basically the world as they knew it for centuries (monarchist agrarian Europe) was ending. It's natural that they wanted to create new radically different art to reflect this.

Man I love the look of Russia and all things Russian. It is like Kerbal in real life

that's a pretty dumb claim, that could be said about literally any aesthetic left over, shitty gray right angles would just inspire the next generation to go for something lame and uninspired

That one is unintentionaly Jewish-looking:
>two pillars
>ark
>exaltation to sky and removal from earth
>horns at corners resemble a Semitic altar

This thing is just concept.

>no distinctions between men and women
that one's false

The Soviets were not degenerate, though. They were supremely retarded communists but they didn't tolerate degeneracy.

>France shilling for commies
No surprise here.

there's something about all that futurist/brutalist aesthetic of the SU that facinates me

I noticed this looking at a coffee-table book on Soviet naval vehicles. You see it right away in comparative charts of helicopters: military vehicles are supposed to be purely practical, but you can instantly tell apart Russian, American, and other designs.

Our very own french commie blocks that are actually round

They look like cartoon submarines.

>you see Ivan, if propeller point upward, plane don't need go forward... can just fly straight up

would yo live in a brutalist styled home? while I like the style it has something that makes me uneasy

You see that bery clearly in the two buildings at the beginning, the "Gamma" and the radiating stalk. They are fighting and ignoring nature rather than marrying it as in Georgian-era architecture.

This shit almost makes me cry.

I almost bought a home that looked damn near exactly like that except the exterior was a log cabin. It was...odd to say the least but it was on 40 acres and the price was right. The guy that built it was a retired geologist. Weird dude desu. Sometimes I regret not buying it.

>The Soviets were not degenerate
true, but they went way to far with that killing of a lot of expression causing a negative effect more often than positive. i'm not saying that going full retard like the US are now would be better, but shit like the saying "there is no sex in the soviet union" shows they went too far, plus the party involvement in vigorous censorship of everything

>"Palace of culture" from the times of Soviet occupied Poland

>concept/ Nondestructive testing
>Russian Engineering

youtu.be/hdiXJZjZ5Cs
kek

I'm like 99% sure I say that in DayZ.

Still wrong.

You may talk shit about the SU, but in terms of cultural identity, they have developed the most recognizable one in only 80 years

While in the US the suburban house is king in the Soviet Union the Commieblock was it's counterpart and wouldn't you say both are as recognizable?

Sure life was shit back then, but it was stable and you were certain in life, perhaps that is reflected in the architecture

plus SU had A E S T H E T I C

...

>depressing
no. Comfy!

stfu that looks awesome
somtimes is the purpose of doing something just to show that it can be done.
I mean that stuff still stands, right?
I love it

>Futurism
this explains it
I love everything about this style and the idea behind it. It is the workshipment of thé human technological and scientifc capabilties.
Hopefull, reasonable, progressive and all in all pure in its positiveness

The Soviets produced beautiful art and music.

ditto

A property like that here would cost over a million. I always wanted to buy a plot of land and build my home sort of like that but have it shaped like half an egg with one side all glass so you could see each level of the home.

kys please. I though Poles were based.

You disgust me with this stockholm syndrom

My favorite... Been inside, well sorta

I actually enjoy Futurism. That existiantialist, nihilist vibe with ultra techno is something you can spend a while in. It was revolutionary. Goebbels used to say he would have rather chosen the downfall with communism than eternal slavery under capitalism. And you can still se this gleeming revolutionary spirit of modernity, a barbarism of technology, world revolution and overcoming man and nature in it. Those were good days, great brother.

this practice always gives me the creeps

Here's pic...

They tolerated degeneracy under the Oriental rule of superficial perfection concealing whatever you don't want discussed, their highest police official was a pedophile and rapist who invited women to try to tell on him, and that's after Stalin clamped down on the undisguised degeneracy that charcterized the revolutionaries and early Bolsheviki.
I'm not able to find it but around the NEP era they released a pornographic alphabet (which included menaging and homosexuality) to combat adult illiteracy.

Sometimes I think it resonates with me, as a Sudetengerman, because there is some Slav in me.
>inb4 degenerate rape baby joke by Amerifat
Never happened.

well, yeah, that's pretty much what i was saying, soviets had a weird way of doing this, and it usually just looks horrible and depressing
pic= academy of science, Riga, had my physics exam there
that's pretty standard for ex-soviet countries, gives a whole new feel when playing half life 2 or stalker

Russians are really bad at tetris aren't they

degenerate af.

I hate commies so much

The society made great music that made you want to march forth and conquer. Today's songs make you want to lay down and have sex or party.

>old man mistaking when minecraft came out

How's that dimensita?

...

The soviet style of buildings and "art" is called brutalism for a reason kraut

Endless liveless commie blocks

Maybe some people actually did believe in the New Man back then, the man of the future, the Soviet Man. Still to this day I think humanity is something that NEEDS to be overcome and the Übermensch to be real. I hope synthetic biology and gene design will finally get us closer to this goal. The next step in evolution.

>Brutalism is beautiful

Once again Aussies are the masters of shitposting!

3D-printed suicidal depression.

This aesthetic is great for science fiction; the fact that humans killed other humans to uphold and spread this m.o., however, can convert the non-believer to God. It makes you believe the soul is real. It's civilization as the Uncanny Valley, and we must all fight against (((it))).
