The more active workers contribute to these funds, the easier it is to have good pensions for the elderly. The important number then is the ratio pensioners/contributors. The smaller this number, the better off the society is.
Secondly. No government wants to cut pensions, even though they know they have to. They 'd rather be fucked by 67 muslims each than cut pensions, because cutting pensions is like a death sentence for a government. Democracy apparently cannot solve pension-related problems in a reasonable manner, and the end result is what we are seeing.
Third. No, I don't like the solution of immigrants. We have been betrayed by the people who let all this happen. However, I haven't seen serious alternatives proposed. Having more kids is a realistic solution for the long-term, but it does not solve the immediate problems.
