hungry

Best part of my life. Parents provided me with food and place to live, kindergarden was great. Come to think, exept for kindergarden nothing changed.

Still living through it. Not doing too good mate.

Allende's Chile was contemporary Venezuela tier. You'd go to the shops and nothing would be on the shelves. Then Pinochet, in all his piety, humility and respect for his ideological opposition, allowed those who had failed the people of their nation free transportation out of the country via helicopter.

It wasn't communism. It was a dictatorship.

>Lived
Living

>Constant shortages of everything outside of vinegar, mustard and vodka. You had to wait in que for the whole day JUST to get toilet paper.
>Food cards.
>Soulcrushing greyness.
>To get a place to live you had to get it assigned by the state, then wait about 10 to 15 years to actually recieve it. Same with cars.
>Being seen as the evil ones by the outside world even though you dindu nuffin.
>Work was mandatory, though most often than not you ended up your work assigned by the state - aka as a college grad you became a streat cleaner.
>Never ending brain washing in the radio, TV, education.
>You had to hail your soviet enslavers every year during mandatory parades.
>You knew that if you chimped out the soviets would rush in and crush you without mercy.
>Life imprisonment for "wrong thinking".
>Widespread wiretapping.
>You could only travel to other commie countries and you'd be on the surveilance by the secret services for years to come when you came back.
>You had to join the commie party if you wanted to work as a lawyer, teacher and so on.
>Your country had to give its crops and other produced goods to your Soviet "friends".
>Mandatory russian language lectures.
>Outside of the high commie party members everybody was poor. And I mean poor as in earing about 10-50$ monthly.

LMAO

Capitalism is so filthy rich that the homeless eat hundreds of dollars worth of food out of the trash can.

>father was drafted to afghan
>got ptsd, nobody cares
>constantly moving because his job, from central Ukraine to Murmansk or Vladivostok(just fucking google those places)
>waiting in line for everything, waited for tv 6 month(normal people wait 2 year)
It's not even oppressive just retarded, ideologically union died during Brezhnev years, all that left was broken system.

Slovenian part of Yugoslavia, mostly from what my parents told me.

Mind you, Yugoslavia was never under Soviet rule, it had its own version of socialism/communism which differed from eastern EU countries. Mostly from what my parents told me (was born just before Yugo dissolved) and what I've seen later:

>almost guaranteed jobs
>everyone was able to lead a comfortable life, at least if your political stance was netural or pro-socialist
>building your own house was a very affordable endeavour
>almost everything was state manufactured, mostly basic stuff in stores only
>importing / smuggling shit into the country was possible, lots of people did it
>people were generally happy
>when Tito died there was a North Korea - tier state of mourning

Well, there was never communism as those "communists" describe it. Only "socialism" and i tell you what, it was total shit.

Yugoslavia was undoubtedly the least bad communist country, and Slovenia was the best part of Yugoslavia to live in. Your parents were lucky.

I was down in Cuba living through communism for a week it seemed okay. Most of their problems are obviously due to the american devil but they still get along fine on their little island. There's problems, but no better or worse than america. I'd live there before mexico.

Well my dad lived in Soviet Armenia and he sometimes tells me weird/cool stories growing up.

>ptsd

Wow I thought only pussy ass Americans got that. I thought there was no such thing for slavs

Well? Go on then

Because or medicine is shit. We are only now learning what is autism. In 90's people would think you just retarded. Same with ptsd and other mental problems.

>born in glorious yugoslavia
>dad didn't get along with rest of family/town as he was anti commie as fuck and hated Tito
>Late August 1992
>be 7 and me
>both parents at work
>mums friend taking care of me and her daughter
>just chillin on the kitchen floor and playing with a Boris the tank engine
>hear a strange distinct whistling
>massive explosion
>ground trembles beneath me
>can;t hear shit
>run into lounge room
>mums friend lying on the floor holding her stomach, too late though
>her daughter tries to wake her up
>feel confusion

I remember standing there for a while staring at her expecting her to wake up, one of my earliest memories, wish parents decided to flee then, dad hates the amricans too so he stayed for the 2nd war and we had to experience this shit all over again, wish i was of fighting age

>move to aus
>get to experience mudslimes ruin my new home too

My boss served in Armenia after that earthquake in 1988. Their job was preventing mass lootings and helping civilians rebuild.

Which part of Yugoslavia was that in? And who was doing the shelling?

From my family's side, before the 1989 revolution:

>Get caught badmouthing the president or the commie system=get jailed or beaten up by the "militia"(commie/thought police)

>No food, most markets were limited on purpose in their stock. Basically you get off work at night, have to feed your family, and went to the grocery store. You had to wait in the giant gorrillion line, and if you were late, guess what? Food's out comrade, come tomorrow, fuck off now.

>Can't travel or leave the country, you must suffer in your country, it's your duty.

>School indoctrination. Have a different opinion? you wouldn't pass at all.

>Unbiased journalism or freedom movements that don't serve Ceausescu's ass? it's jail time or hunting time for your dumbass.

Communism in Romania successfully divided romanians, that's for sure. Even today, the scars are felt.
Granted, we got our freedom after '89, but the next president after the revolution ,was an actual ex commie jew,(3 terms btw) that fucked the economy hard, and sure as hell prevented right wing parties from rising.
No sjw'is here, but the left are in power. On one side you got PSD, ex commies full of old people supporting them due to "muh money", and on the other side you got marxists like USR, PNL, full of young students that are lucky Islam hasn't infiltrated this country.
Vadim Tudor was our Trump, but got cheated out in 2000, when Iliescu won his 3rd term, yeah..

tits or gtfo, as they. post some stories even though im sure youre larping.

I got the tail end of it.

Mixed. According to my parents total shit as a political and economic system.
People always hungry, people always cold.

However because of how terrible communism was it created a need for people to come together and be a real community. So I suppose that's one positive.

>Communism is such shit and oppresses so many people equally that it brings people closer.

I had an experiment in mind:

What would happen if we take a piece of land and put let's say 1million people in it who want to live in communism
Everybody takes a contribution for the project as some kind of starting capital (anonymous)
With the modern knowledge and technology
Do you think it would work out? What would happen in your opinion?

one thing i've never understood

"assigned work"

so you graduate college.

do you "apply" for a job, then they said "no, instead take this one"

or when they hand you your diploma, do they just say "show up tomorrow to be a street cleaner"

how did it actually happen?

Croat opposition at that particular time followed by Bosnian paramilitaries later, we fled the town, came back few weeks later, couldn't step on the ground without stepping on shells or shrapnel

Doesn't sound too different from actual american thirld worlders aside from
>Constant shortages of everything
That's a plus for our current system
>You had to hail your enslavers every year during mandatory parades.
Americans do it by conviction

It wasn't really bad user. I remember growing up in a normal family where my parents worked 9-5 five days a week. We had our three room apartment and plenty of food. Education was free and good quality tier and crime almost didn't exist. Don't listen to trolls jews or the faggots immigrants from (((moscow))) that try to shit o the the system only because they free government money by bringing their dirty lazy ass to America.

t. grew up in a small town by the Finish border

While that shit was going on in Albania proper the government totally collapsed. I was in the states by 96 when shit got really hectic but my little cousin has a neat story. He was 5 so the story is told by his mom.

>They are on 1st floor of apartment building
>He was 5 and playing with toys, grandma watching him and his brother
>Explosion bursts all the windows in
>glass everywhere
>5 or 6 bullets rip through the apartment as gun fire erupts on street
>A gang of armed men are shooting at eachother
>Mom runs into apartment (She was at neighbors helping with something)
>They all duck but she goes over to the window
>A couple outside that happened to be caught up in the mess is cowering on the buildings wall
>They get murdered
>More bullets through window
>Some fuckface lobs a grenade
>more booms
>Guys with gun walk up to window and peer in
>See my cousins and family cowering in fear
>Make some shitty jokes about killing everyone inside
>Leader boss guy throws some coins into the apartment and says "for the windows"

Your parents belonged to the party user. Not saying it's a bad thing. Just that if that is your case then that is the most likely scenario.

Much better than now. Level of consupmtion was lower, but people were more calm, optimistic and dare I say, innocent-minded (thanks to iron curtain).
To pity that it fell.

>47 y.o .

Whats a 47 year old doing on a weeaboo funposting site?

Most of Sup Forums is filled with actual adults. Places like Sup Forums and now nuB (pol) are where the children tend to congregate.

He was only 33 when Sup Forums first started. Also if you think anime-watchers didn't exist before the year 2000 then you're retarded. He could easily be a weeb or a gun lover or some other enthusiast who enjoyed internet message boards back in the day.

Or maybe he only got into it in the past few years. Who knows.

>MUST SUBVERT CAPITALISM AND CRASH UNITED STATES
You will be surprised but I'm not the oldest one.
And by the way its one of the most influental pace in the internet

my grandfather knows about this place due to /k/

i doubt he is the only one

i dont think they got around announcing their age

Adding to these
I went skiing in Southern Poland as a kid. Chose the wrong slope and ended up crossing the border. Border guards told me to pick up a branch and hike up the slope and cover up my tracks.

My dad fell asleep on a train once and ended up in Prague. Sparked a shitstorm as you weren't supposed to cross the border so easily.

This

This.

>much better then now

Maybe in Russia

it sucked but it's over now.
The next wave of communism is around the corner though unless the West changes course quickly.
post some comfy pepes you NEET

Secret police didn't allow decadent Western influence, they'd grab you by the hair and cut your hair off if it was too long, everyone had a job but you got paid little and lived in a piece of shit apartment even if you were a doctor so many of the doctors (including her uncle) would leave the country to find work when they could.

This is what my grandmother told me.

>most of the communist party and secret service aparatus were jews.
>affirmative action esk at universities for peasants and up to 70's for jews.
>commie blocks everywhere.
>people who fought the nazis were jailed for being, you guessed it, fascist

You were given a job through whatever unon you were assigned to or through family connections.

Former was shit i.e. finish uni and end up washing dishes. Latter prevailed into nowadays.

when you graduate you are given a job and if you dont show up shit goes down.
>choosing your workplace
>under gomunism
XDDDD

Not in every part of it.
When i was a kid my father often brings tens of kilos of red and black caviar at home. Meat was not a big deal to find, especially in villages.
The only problem was to find a good clothes.

Nor me nor my father been a party members ever. You just have to be socially integrated to find some rare things

>finish uni and end up washing dishes

That describes my life so perfectly

I have a BS in Chemistry and I'm literally a dishwasher

Not bad Ivan, not bad at all.

My grandfather "urban" really likes Stalin, just on the basis of order and development.

My "rural" grandparents like it too: they gained much from it, going from an African-tier village to a village with a school, a kindergarden, owning a TV and a car, electricity, centralized water and heat in winter, getting education to become school teachers themselves.

The parents are pretty apolitical, some things they like some things they dislike.

I am an active supporter of communism/social democracy and a member of a leftist party.

Is it true American blue jeans were traded like cocaine in Soviet Russia?

Perfectly summed up

Devolves into chaotic tribalism within two weeks. Animal Farm IRL within a month.

Synthetize etanol, buy a track suit with the three holy stripes of adidas and do the slav squat.

You're ready to become one of >us.

You know the
>don't forget, you're here forever
Meme?
Yeah, it's true.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kibbutz

Not that bad because our dictator was top notch. Like most people from Yugoslavia I'm a rightist now.

oh come on it wasn't that bad here
to be honest during communism Lithuania was the best place to live

After graduation you automatically go to practice (like every modern doctor).
The state send you away into another city if there is no shortage in your hometown.
You had to have a real awesome reason to stay at home.
And yes, job was mandatory - you're going to jail if you're a jobless person.

That sucks m8. Do any degrees in burgerland guarantee you a job when you get out, or are they all going to land you with a mcjob?

Yep, it was an exotic thing and costed a lot. It was a symbol of status.
Nowadays almost everyone have jeans, and the national clothes are the symbol of status and identity.

wtf is that flag you nigger faggot

based poland confirmed savior of white banter when Australia gets overrun by chinks, gooks and other spooks

Some imaginated state i surpose.

They were not in the party, just regular engineers.

I don't know about other fields but science degrees are jokes. To work as a lab tech for barely $15/hr, no benefits whatsoever, you need at least a master's here. And that's if you manage to find a lab. The nearest lab from my place is almost 200 miles.

I'm thinking about going back to school and getting a masters but fuck, I'm already 30k in debt.

Doesn't sound too bad
But would it work on a larger scale
Nah I said modern knowledge so they know about the danger of this happening.

Old people use Sup Forums?

What about engineering? Chem or Mech? I'm going for that over here and planning to move to US for job if possible

>be BS in Chemestry
>Washing dishes

interesting, i never how it worked in practice

I think you only get that flag if you are inside the EU headquarters or associated buildings. Very Rare

Goddamn awful. This is why commie LARP'ers in the west trigger us so much. Just put them out of their misery already.

Would you like a crazy goverment who kill.without reason every nigga or chinaboy in his borders only for their skin color?

this. except i don't mind the grayness. the "color" now is billboards and ads and garbage like that and ugly post modern buildings as well and retarded posters for degenerate events. we've always had parks and trees and flowers and shit like that. it's just the buildings that were gray and samey. don't know about poland.

Sounds like the modern first world.
