Let me tell you something OP. Unless you are 100% and I mean *100%* sure you can write a bulletproof essay with a controversial viewpoint, don't do it. A teacher will naturally fill in the blanks on a topic you write about in their head if its a topic they agree with. That's how you get an A, you pander to the teacher. Going against the grain, while admirable, isn't worth a lower grade in a class that ultimately will not matter.

Not always. In my Psych 101 class I had a prof who taught that violent movies and video games are directly linked to violence in children. I wrote a paper for an assignment about how that was untrue and the links are minimal at best at got 90 on it. Reasonable profs do exist.
