Medicare for All

What would you do with the $5,807 you'd save in a year if Medicare for All is enacted?

Buy a plane ticket to a country with guns and free markets.

So, America?

LOL

I pay 24k a year for health insurance, but it's top of the line, with no deductibles.

Nothing because the taxes would be so high that $5,807 would go back into the government.

Is healthcare a universal human right?
Is transportation a universal human right?
Is sex a universal human right?

The UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights seems to imply that healthcare should be a right (Article 25).

>Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.

Funny how (((they))) are so threatened by Bernie Sanders.

>Is healthcare a universal human right?
no
>Is transportation a universal human right?
no
>Is sex a universal human right?
no

Spend it on private healthcare.

>Bernie
>savings

About 8.8 % according to this article. That's $4400, which means while OP's pic is still wrong, they'd still be coming in ahead by over a grand.

I do not give a flying hell what the un thinks anymore

neat.

now what does this do for my family, we make around 100k+ a year.

What about the World Heath Organization then ?

>The WHO Constitution enshrines “…the highest
attainable standard of health as a fundamental right of every human being.”

Why shouldn't basic needs like water, roads, education, defense, police and HEALTCHCARE be state controlled? It is a basic necessity and a social contract like pention. I don't get it.

Spend it on a vending machine while waiting to see a doctor

People are buying tickets to Cuba for the free healthcare because the trip is cheaper than going to a doctor. You as a Nnation should be embarraseed by this desu.

There's an unofficial calculator there. I'm not sure how precise or accurate it is.

Is a marxist ngo. Internationalist communism through which the globalist fascist want to rule the world. The left are the useful idiots of the globalist fascists.

Assuming that that is true, how does providing universal healthcare lead to world ruling?

pay for a family vacation to Leavenworth to laugh at and mock Trump in his cell with his gold plated toilet

>everyone should get free shit just for existing
Why?

I would get a personal trainer and a better dentist.

Have a brain and a soul

I'm okay with healthcare being publicly provided, as long as it is done by the states and not the federal government.

Tell me more about how many cutting edge medical advances come out of Cuba.

Feed my used panty sniffing addiction.

Bernie has repeatedly put forth bills that don't mathematically add up.

A vaccine for meningitis-B was first created in Cuba.

>t. drumpf

Why? What would the difference be between a state-provided healthcare and a federal-provided healthcare?

>give the government monopolies on "necessities"
You deserve every bit of cultural enrichment you're getting

And when a few million people lose their jobs due to the new taxes, and wages stagnate even more it'll be like so socialistic!

It's not the federal government's job to provide healthcare, that goes beyond the powers intended for them in the Constitution. State by state healthcare would be able to better address of the individual needs of the population in that state.

there's still millions of people in states, it would be just as inefficient.
You want a working healthcare system? get the government the fuck out of it.

Probably spend it paying off the fuck ton of taxes that a Medicare for all plan would entail

Can you show an example of country with no government interference in the healthcare system and that has a working, efficient, healthcare system?

Pre 1990 US
Medical costs were lower than modern Europe

can you show me a country with government interference in healthcare that actually works?

At least everyone would be winning 15 dollars an hour for a while, while the republicans just suck big corp dick.

The wait times are bigger because more people can use it faggot.

While wait times may be longer in the Canadian system for speciality care, yearly healthcare expenditures per capita are around half those in the American system.
Moreover, healthcare expenditures increase slower over time in the Canadian system.
And of course, every citizen is covered in the Canadian system, unlike in the American system.
The Canadian system sounds definitely more appealing and efficient than the American system.

our expenditures are more because
1) Obamacare has made our healthcare system expensive and inefficient
2) we have better healthcare

They would also pay a two month waiting period. If we do some quick calculations, that's a potential opportunity cost of... $8,333

So they'd pay more. What a dick move.

dont forget that after you hit the 50,001 income line you would pay 10,000 instead

Healthcare expenditures per capita in the USA have been higher than all other countries for many decades. Obamacare did not change that significantly.

Under-five mortality rate :
in the USA : 6.5/1000
in Canada : 4.9/1000

Life expectancy :
in the USA : 79.3 years
in Canada : 82.2 years

Yearly health expenditure per capita :
in the USA : 8233$
in Canada : 4445$
Public expenditure in Canada is slightly less than in the USA.
Private expenditure in Canada is a lot less than in the USA.

Coverage :
in the USA : in 2014, 13.4% of adults were not insured.

I'd go even further than the Canadian system, honestly. I'd adopt the British system and do full socialized medicine. Their costs are a third of ours, and nobody seems to overly mind the care. Those that hate it too much could buy from the few private providers that would remain.

I have a moral component to this also, because I genuinely think that health insurance companies are some of the most cruel institutions in the world. You read about some of their calculations and they sound psychopathic. They need to be wiped out for the good of the nation.

>we have better healthcare

crime, obesity, and niggers.

a homogenous country with ten times less the population is going to have less people in danger.

>moral competent
>forcibly taking money from people and redistributing it

Obamaleaf detected.

Because when healthcare is state controlled it becomes over burdened and fucking awful. I don't want my taxes to be jacked up so people who can't take care of themselves can clog up the line at a nearby hospital when I need to use it.

I want them to be removed from the gene pool.

Roads, education, defence, police, and healtchcare [sic.] are not basic necessities.
Earn your keep.

When the state decides who gets healthcare and to what degree, what happens when someone in the state decides you don't need (or deserve in the worst sense of the case) life-saving healthcare?

this

First of all, because only one of those things you named is any kind of need, let alone basic. But if you can start defining anything you want to be a need, then it'll never stop. You're a communist.

But if that's not good enough, you should understand that literally everything you just named is a commodity. You can't have a right to someone else's stuff, user. You may need water to survive, but you cannot oblige someone else to give it to you.

>Canada
>homogeneous country
That is so... wrong.

Ethnic origin :
32.16% identify it as Canadian.
19.81% identify it as English.
15.42% identify it as French.
The rest (32.61%) identify it as some other origin from all over the world.

Visible minority population was around 19.1% in 2011. 76.7% were Caucasian/white. 4.3% were natives.

still alot better than us.

also, there's a moral argument for healthcare to be made. I have a right to choose what I do with my money.
Universal Healthcare destroys that.

Insurance companies already do that you dumb fuck.

yeah, only you have the FREEDOM to CHOOSE

Nobody chooses where their tax dollars go specifically..

i'm afraid i wouldn't receive that money, leaf. i'd be the one paying for it since i'm higher income.

We can choose what we get taxed on.

Through the election process? What if one does not wish to have their tax dollars ago towards welfare? It'll still be done, for whomever you vote for.

You can vote on politicians who will cut the budget. Closes thing we can get to.

They are state controlled. That's why Flint's water is poisonous, the roads are full of potholes and the bridges are crumbling, it's why education sucks and is overpriced, it's why we spend more on defense than the next first world countries combined, why policing is often a joke, and why healthcare is so fuckin' expensive.

Literally, everything on your list is ALREADY controlled by the omnipotent State. It is controlled through taxation and regulation.

Are you really this stupid.

What you really want is 'free" healthcare, or "cheap" healthcare.

Nothing is free. If you claim healthcare to be a "right" controlled by the State, then you also believe in slavery. Think it through. Healthcare is a service provided by people, not government, no matter who controls it. Doctors, nurses, pharmaceutical manufacturers are in the end, all people. Individuals. If healthcare is a right you have, something you must be provided by the State, then the State is compelled in the name of protecting your right to force people to provide you that service. Compelled by force if necessary, since it is your right to have it. That means if there is a shortage of Doctors and nurses and x-ray technicians and respiratory therapists, then the State should, by your logic, force people to do those things so you are able to enjoy your right to healthcare.

Socialism is slavery.

> Magic money out of nowhere with open borders and more social services

sigh

It'd save quite a bit. The US already pays the highest % GDP to healthcare of any 1st world country by a wide margin. And it'd be one thing if we had the best healthcare, but we're not even remotely close

I'm so fucking pissed Hillary stole Bernie's spot. Bernie would have won so easily and he would fix this shit. We shouldn't have to pay twice as much for healthcare to get less than every other developed country. I'm so fucking tired of getting fucked by insurance lobbies.

Medicare for all is the fucking answer. I'm a hardcore republican but fucking open your eyes, this is THE ONLY ANSWER to unfucking our healthcare. I could explain at length why, I work in healthcare.

Federally subsidized healthcare is unconstitutional.

>I'm a hardcore republican
no you aren't

Because hopefully you aren't a faggot that needs to be babied.

>Bernie
DUDE LMAO FREE SHIT

Yup I am. I believe in the second amendment, I'm against abortion, I'm fiscally conservative as hell.

The problem is everyone gets caught up in the "der i'm not paying for someone else der" bullshit when YOU ALREADY FUCKING ARE. BUT THE INSURANCE COMPANIES REAP ALL THE BENEFITS.

This would make things CHEAPER. That is a CONSERVATIVE value. It's better for everyone, not just broke people. WHO WE ALREADY PAY FOR.

Just stop ripping yourself off jesus.

Even if it was inefficient, who cares? That's the states issue, not the country's. Other states don't have to do this shit.

This is why libertarians are okay with socialism on a communal level. "Fine fuck up your communities, just leave us out of it." The federal government is suppose to be tiny for this reason. The fact that average Americans even give a shit who the president is, is an indictment on how far we've fallen from what the founders wanted.

So you want everyone to get the healthcare you pay for except for you? All the broke people already get free healthcare, and you pay for it. May as well pay for yourself too, right? Instead of forking over insurance premiums that far exceed what the government would ever feasibly need from you.

Fucking think it through idiot. We're the only country dumb enough to fall for the insurances meme.

Yes dipshit, because if you make a commodity "free" then everyone will pile in, even when they likely don't even need to see a doctor. You're also only considering the service side of healthcare in wait times. They also have drug shortages. Limited resources to anyone at any time with no market indicators or price signals is retarded.

I'm okay with you fucking up your community. You can have a commune for all I give a shit.
Are you advocating for state subsidized healthcare, or the state's freedom to choose whether or not they want state subsidized healthcare?

>All the broke people already get free healthcare, and you pay for it.
They shouldn't get any of anyone else's money from the federal government. If people want to give to charity they're free too, don't fucking mandate that everyone else has to be generous.

Fuck off faggot

government agencies take ludicrous portions of the money before they actually redistribute it.
government doesn't help.

You obviously have no clue what working in healthcare is like. Most people wouldn't go to the doctor just because it's free, and those who would already do (and you already pay for it.)

And Medicare for all wouldn't necessarily be "Medicare part D" for all. We don't have to pay for the drugs. We could have gap coverage insurance for those who want it.

Take a look at Veteran Affairs then come back to us.

I can put the pressure on local officials. I can't do that to faggot bureaucrats living 1000 milles away.

Why then does it work in every other developed country? Why do we pay twice as much as anyone else, but have the 7th best healthcare?

Stop being fucking retarded please.

>Most people wouldn't go to the doctor just because it's free
why wouldnt they? when the money isn't taken out of their pocket each visit, they will go to hospitals for trivial things, wasting resources.

>Why then does it work
it doesn't

States have fewer resources to manage their own plans but muh principle/muh original text

SO instead of having the government decide how to allocate the funds, you would rather INSURANCE COMPANIES RAPE YOUR ASS MONTHLY AND DECIDE TO FUCK YOU AGAIN WHEN YOU NEED TO USE COVERAGE YOU'VE BEEN PAYING OUT THE ASS FOR YEARS AND THEY SAY LOL NO.

State's freedom to choose. So if California wants state healthcare, have the fuck at it. So long as its a program run and funded by the state. Then when their program fails its all on them and nobody else.

are you retarded, without police healthcare and education there is no civilized country. no wonder americans are stupid, fat, and violent

>Bernie
> "plan"

You may choose one and only one, OP.

That so-called "plan" was shredded by about 20 different organizations the week he published it, both on the left and the right. Nobody, including Bernie, could make the numbers add up. The Unicorn Mage was just blasting shit against the wall while huffing his own fantasy rainbow farts.

There's a reason why he's a laughing stock.

Bernie voted against a Federal audit. He's kept every penny from his campaign. He's a piece of shit and you fucking retards keep supporting him.

I agree.

>Taking the UN seriously when they elected Saudi Arabia to head the human rights council

They don't have a leg to stand on

Someone post the vid of the fat Bong not giving a fuck that his treatment to reduce his fat ass is paid for by others and not him.

>we don't have to pay for drugs

im literally more well versed in policy than sanders. dude is a disgrace

sounds like an insurance company has been giving you a hard time
and yes, I would choose a private company over the government any day of the week

jesus christ underrated as fuck

however your tax bill would increase by more than $5,807

Guess what, nurses can turn them away if it's something trivial. LIke EVERY OTHER FUCKING COUNTRY ON EARTH.
Are you fucking retarded? We pay nearly twice as much and get less. If it doesn't work for them, ours is COMPLETE SHIT
