Aren't Muslims to Islam the same as Jews are to Judaism? Forgive my burger education but I always assumed that jews were ethno-religious in the sense that they both practiced the same religion but at the same time were racially similar. Modern by historical landmarks, the concept of liberty in the eyes of the law and equal opportunity for everybody regardless of class, race, religion, etc. is a fairly new concept for humans overall, or at least it's only been applied on such a large scale recently
