Climate change

Fellow Sup Forumsacks, my normie friends want to know what user thinks of climate change. Red pill me on the conspiracy please.

$ desu

its real but the establishment doesnt care about doing anything because the entire system is made to be unsustainable
they are simply using it as an excuse to build a world government

(((they))) changed the name Global Warming with Climate Change because (((they))) knew it was bullshit, and as the climate always changes (((they))) will use it to promote (((their))) agenda

Is it just an excuse to let Mexicans in as "climate refugees?"

Jews, pure and simple.

Climate change is real and CO2 is a greenhouse gas.

If you disagree you are either stupid or ignorant.

Why not both?

Climate change is real. It shouldn't be +11°C in march in canada.

>kikes
>convince world of climate change boogieman
>It's global warming, i-i-i mean global cooling, i-i mean global warming!
>trust me goy in a scientist
>exaggerate panic/dangers of "climate change"
>taxes(kikes wet dream is carbon taxes)
>profit????
Pretty simple desu

>most parts get warmer
>some parts get cooler
>media gets confused
>reports wrong thing constantly

blame the media, not the scientists.

There's been repeated deadlines and tipping points of no return we've passed yet they still ask for trillions to prevent it happening, while anyone who says OK it's real let's work on coping with it is labelled a denier.
What part of that doesn't sound like a scam?

>Scientists trying to warn us and propose changes to save us from a very real and nearly unstoppable disaster
BOOGYMEN
>Media that dedicates 15 seconds to these super important articles, followed by "OUR CHANNEL 9 NEWS ANCHOR FOUND THIS CAT WHILE SHE WAS FILMING HAHA SANDRA YOU GOOF"
Haha climate change isn't a big deal.

>Libtards president of choice got BTFO
>That non-scientist made a powerpoint presentation
>Libtards insist they are smarter than everyone plus felt this guy got robbed
>They put their black rimmed glasses on and just regurgitated the talking points in lieu of actually thinking
>Realised that this hypothesis was a good excuse to grow government.
>Used government to fund science that agreed with the hypothesis.
>hypothesis is unfalsifiable as everything is used as proof of "climate change"
>perfect for shit "scientist" who can just tack that on as an excuse for whatever they observe and aren't bright enough to be hired by the private sector.
>Climatology is now the field of maintaining a groupthink echo chamber
>Real environmental concerns get little attention as plebs think dumping money into something "global" is more worthwhile.
>We now have a generation that doesn't know "carbon" from "carbon dioxide" from "carbon monoxide".
>They are taught what to think rather than how to think by a party that insists its on the side of science yet thinks babies don't exist until they see daylight and you can choose your gender base on feels but not your race.
>Anyone that complains about any of these facts is labeled a conspiracy nut by some asshat caught in the echochamber

It is a scam to justify world government. The first step is selling fear to justify global carbon credits that will fund a global government. Your friends are certainly too dumb to understand this

For the past 800,000 years atmospheric CO2 never passed 300 ppm. In 1950, it was ~320 ppm, and now it's above 400 ppm. We're approaching (some have already said approached) a point where warming is becoming a positive feedback loop.

>more conspiracy theories

Why do you pick 800,000 years to stop this research, haven't there been animals (and plants) for millions of years? Can we see a theorized chart of when say the dinosaurs roamed?

The Maldives', one country who's most threatened by rising sea levels, biggest export is sand from its beaches.

No because it was X10 higher and that would not fit with the narrative.

>We're approaching (some have already said approached) a point where warming is becoming a positive feedback loop.

Good, because drought is the only way to destroy Equatorial racial enemies across the globe.

Africa dies along with the Middle East, and Canada becomes habitable!

if you want to stop emissions, then you have to decide to war china and india.

Bernie's view of climate change.

no one is saying that life will go extinct, scientists are just saying that if we don't stop what we are doing, unpredictable and potentially disastrous consequences will happen.

They already can't predict very well with weather. Have you ever actually looked at 7 day (or even longer) forecast and ran odds on it like a casino would? Those fuckers can't predict shit. Every year hurricane season here in America is supposed to be worse and worse. Luckily, they've been wrong for quite awhile now. It's ok though because sooner or later one will do some damage and that's all the proof they need. Who cares they cried wolf 100x before that. They' still know what they're talking about...sure

I know everything about global warming. Warming is great for the planet. All Democrats wanted to do is make it a political football to garner votes. Nobody has anything to worry about.

>being completely oblivious of the difference between climate and weather
Of course you are american. Making your education system proud, i see...

>Every year hurricane season here in America is supposed to be worse and worse.
Says who?

Strawman, no one is saying that at a certain point too hot isn't bad moron. My contention is were no where near that and I point to millions of years ago when there were millions upon millions of more species than now thriving. Guess what killed 90% of species on Earth? It sure wasn't called the hot age that's for sure.

Climate change is real. Corporate shills will claim it isn't, because corporations are heartless globalist monstrosities that only care about industrial efficiency and finances.

Because the effects of humans are most plainly visible in that figure. I mean there was a cycle that could be predicted for the past 800,000 years, but it was somehow by chance that when humans entered the industrial era it spiked past 400 in FIFTY years?

C'mon.

> haven't there been animals (and plants) for millions of years?

Sure, even when the CO2 levels were as high as they are now almost 4 million years ago plants and animals existed (no arctic ice though), but that doesn't mean that the plants and animals that exist right now can tolerate those conditions.

No one says that all life on planet earth will become extinct (barring something like the clathrate gun) but that life, especially for humans, is going to become much more difficult, especially for the poorest.

Forecasting the weather is actually much more difficult the predicting the climate. There are many more variable involved in the weather in a much smaller time-frame.

Its real, the climate is without changing. However, it should be noted that the climate changes all the time. The little Ice age, the ice age are two recent climate change events.

The planet will be fine, life goes on regardless what happens.

Might piss off people who own coastal property though. Otherwise, the extreme end of damage is pretty overblown.

Actually, climate change was always the name. NASA in the 1970s coined the term global warming to better define how the climate is changing (becoming warmer not colder); sadly, idiots thought global warming meant there would be no more winters.

Climate's getting ready for the Age of Aquarious. Everyone shouldn't panic, it'll take hundreds of years, still.

At what point would you say it's bad?

Certain island nations are doomed, Bangladesh is flooding with hundreds of thousands being displaced into different parts of the country and India, the ocean is acidifying, coral reefs (which house 25% of oceanic species) are dying. At what point do you say "this is bad enough now?"

There's a thread on Sup Forums right now talking about the mass migration of 30 million africans to europe due to the negative changes of their climate.

And by the time it does get "bad enough", there won't be much we can do, it's best to start as soon as possible.

At this point it, is just another topic to virtue signal about.

The problem is how do you switch from a carbon based economy without putting a billion people into poverty and killing another billion? Most climate activists are actively taking advantage of our economy without realizing (because everything just like werks xD) and are only advocating going green because they believe it will take money away from the rich people they despise so much.

good picture

i am pro climate change because I cannot wait for velociraptors to return to Canadian forests.

pic unrelated.

NOAA's Ark. Blasphemy in it's purest form.

They are the ones that are spewing your chem-trails across the skies so that the ice will melt and create a controlled catastrophe

Climate change is real, but it's not as big a problem as everyone makes it out to be. Besides, the only way to make a dent in lower emissions is to make China and India stop releasing so much.

>browsing Sup Forums

what fresh memery is this?

What I have always wondered about: what comes first? Making the earth uninhabitable from burning fossil fuels or running out of fossil fuels?

I always figured the latter is going to come about much faster (in like 50-100 years), and going green is a necessity but for different reasons that people realize.

The real hard to swallow red pill is that it is already too late. It has been too late. If you go listen to the lectures from the people working on this you will notice they have changed from "We have to cut emissions by 70-80% to stop this" to We hate to cut emissions to slow it down."

The northern permafrost has begun to leak and release the methane stored within.
sciencealert.com/photos-reveal-more-than-200-bright-blue-arctic-lakes-have-started-bubbling-with-methane-gas
The canary in the coal mine is officially dead. Permafrost methane leaks were the tipping point and now all the carbon amounts to a bucket of piss in the ocean. That is what cutting carbon was suppose to try to prevent. Now that the methane has started to leak the greenhouse effect will run away from us. It will still probably take a few decades for all the ice to melt, there is a fuck ton of it after all, but the longer it goes the more it will speed up.

So any coastline city is fucked. The water tables anywhere remotely by the coats are fucked. Low lying land masses are fucked.
The tin foil hat in me thinks there will be a war and the world's coastal cities will get bombed to shit as an excuse to get people to move inland.

The up side is the frozen north is going to unfreeze. So Canada and Russia are big winners. We will also get the antarctic continent to explore and settle and war over. So that's fun.

Canada a superpower by 2050

methane is a clean fuel

>climate friendly = tax cuts

There's more than enough coal for that.

The question is whether there is enough of the liquid stuff (used to mine it) left to get at it all

Please uncuck yourselves before then leaf bro. I know you can do it.

Methane is a fantastic fuel, but it is also 30 times more potent as a greenhouse gas than CO2, and the methane in the arctic permafrost isn't being burned as fuel, it is just being dumped into the atmosphere, which is the problem.

>Making the earth uninhabitable from burning fossil fuels
That was never going to happen. They wanted to lower CO2 to stop ice melt (which has its own chain effect) and at all costs stop the methane in the permafrost from getting out. Earth was never going to be uninhabitable, that was (((media))) hype.
What is going to happen is the ice is going to melt, and the sea levels will rise. Anything on the current coast is fucked, and since that is where a lot of people live they wanted to avoid that. Also the water tables near the new coats will be fucked up by the salt water infiltration. Weather will get a bit more extream too, bigger storms and stuff. If you live inland and in more northern latitudes, it won't be so bad for you. Canada makes out pretty well. We will lose a fair about of land in some areas, Florida will be completely gone for instance, and that sucks from a resource and history perspective, but we gain new frozen areas becoming pretty nice.

I know a friend is blaming climate change on a lack of volcanic eruptions. But I think he is trying to justify studying geology

Its real but we cant really change anything just enjoy the ride.

Fake, government scheme to control energy production and beat the shit out of small businesses. It's basically the main reason corporatism was a huge issue in the shit hole era of Obongo

Co2 is plant food. Earth is old, so you need to think in hundreds of thousands of years not hundreds.

ecowatch.com/how-is-climate-change-affecting-the-philippines-1882156625.html

>The Global Climate Risk Index 2015 listed the Philippines as the number one most affected country by climate change, using 2013’s data.

uh-oh

>Co2 is plant food

Sure, but a nitrogen plateau exists, and you also need more water+other minerals to compensate for larger/more plants, so the effect is limited.

Also, some plants can utilize CO2 better than other plants, and those plants that can't utilize CO2 as well could be out-competed out of existence.

We probably don't want a mass amount of plant species all getting out-competed at the same time.

It's a symptom for RETARDS that like falling for propaganda

Pollution reduction and population control are the only subjects worth discussing
