This is not correct. Jesus was a Jew and practiced Judaism. After his death and resurrection those who followed him were called Christians. To suggest Jesus was the first Christian is simply not true. Jesus didn't follow himself. Jesus followed the will of his father in heaven. It's true that Jesus introduced new teachings but he introduced them into Judaism. He didn't create an entirely new religion. Christianity doesn't exist without Judaism and it's teachings. Christians like to argue that they are "people of the New Testament". Without the Old the New doesn't make sense.
