Got any pics from Barcelona?
I've seen lots of buildings have their facades reconstructed over the last years. Gives me hope that not everything will be an ugly "modern" blob of grey and black.

...

Woooah... wtf did they demolish a fucking church?

mmm unchecked capitalism and commie blocks, worst of two worlds in one pic

What is the reason for this?

>Architecture thread - just to push some shills off the board
hmm

it isn't even just architechture, everything relating to design is going toward detailess. web design, operating system gui, fashion, paintings, music, everything it is a gross trend. i think people are genuinely becoming less skilled in any craft so people are trying to push this "less is more" mindset so they have an excuse to be fucking lazy and of course it is working

>00's design was shit
>10's design is great! I enjoy it.

How will our clothes, interiors, haircuts and houses look like when they are 10 years old?

> when you think you are hallucinating but you're actually just living in Sweden

...

Sweden is working around the clock to fuck shit up

...

...

oh wtf, I don't mind doing things in new areas but fucking desecrating a old building like this is so... pointless.

Both are wrong, architecture needs to build on previous knowledge suited for the time. Dude on the right wants to demolish everything but guy on the left is too safe.

FUCKING AMERICA, REEEE

> I bet the anglo did this

2006 - is it too safe?

skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1022349&page=333

436 pages of new builds.

I weep every day for the heritage lost, even in the most bumfuck nowhere city in Sweden we lost really beautiful centuries old buildings in the vain attempts to be "modern"

...

There is always hope, redpill your friends and family from time to time and it might grow into something bigger. 2030 - we rebuild Europe.

Chester, went there twice for sightseeing. Awesome town.

Currently where i live.

That's the old one, pic related is the new one. No history, no class, no sense of gravity or importance. Just a shitty boardroom.

This is actually quite sad. Good eyeball, Pajeet.

Horrifying

Hotel Atellet
Norrtälje, Sweden - 2009

I guess it depends on the exterior.

I love all the German state parliament buildings, and the federal one. The buildings themselves are little changed from when they went up during the Second Empire, but the redesigned interiors are modern and ergonomic.

...

Right is worse because there are live Germans in it

Looks like the lecture theaters at my uni, Couldn't they have just stuck your parliamentary chamber in an old palace or something?

...

...

...

My friend is studying architecture in London at the moment, he's actually designing traditional buildings as everyone else is doing modern shit so by just getting inspiration from old designs he's one of the few actually standing out.

...

We must make Generation Z more conservative and make all those architects unemployed.
