No.

No.

He was a fascist megalomaniac who killed innocent people just because they believed differently, and there's never forgiving these sorts of people. He is no different from Hitler's genocide from the holocaust, except Pinochet was less exclusive with his stock

>No different than Hittler
>This is a bad thing.

kys newfag

Only newfag post-ZimZam stormweenies believe unironically that Hitler was good

Hitler and Pinochet were bad, prove me wrong faggot

Can anyone explain this helicopter meme? I thought is something the Colombian military used to do throwing the cartels off of the helicopter in Narcos

chile is the best country in south america because of him

...

He did the same with suspected commies

The Colombian military really?

dictatorships in the south cone were pretty soft compared to what people want you to believe

What were they actually like?

Pinochet's rule:

- 4000 commies get locked up in sports stadium and disappear over night.

- markets get opened up

- regulations get removed

- education system gets ovrhauled (and turned into the best of the region)

- a middle class starts to form

- poverty gets almost eradicated

BUT MUH 4000 GOMMIES THAT DISAPPEARED! WHAT A HELLISH DICTATORSHIP!!!!

thats an autistic question to ask, they threw druggies and commies off helicopters it was fucking amazing

its fucking beautiful

pinochodes are retarded neoliberalism failed and could only be held up by a police state, literally everyone in chile hated pinochet and still hate the government that came to power after him because all of the laws are the same and because of that they now have one of the strongest left wing anarchist movements in the new world (not that i think that's a bad thing) im just pointing out that his type of strategy may increase profits in the short term but it makes life under capitalism shittier and more unstable so if capitalism is your thing and you want to preserve it dont use a form of governance that essentially digs its own grave. social democratic shit (or at least its facade) is whats gonna keep your shit together

your turn

Makes sense

most coups in Argentina (we had several) had public support (the only exception was the coup against Peron, where they bombed the center of Buenos Aires). Armed forces were always perceived as incorruptible, so when shit hit the fan people asked for them to come and put things in order, a transition before elections. Obviously that's a retarded idea because the military isn't suited for that task, in fact they made a lot of fuck ups, for example the last dictatorship and its retarded economic policies.
But overall they were fairly liberal specially here, the closest example would be Franco.

No, you couldn't be outside of your house past 9 pm because you could dissapear forever, sometimes complete families could dissapear. The inflation was more than the 300%, most of the people weren't able to buy proteins like meat, chicken or fish, there was a lot of poberty and most kids were malnourished, only the rich people could get in the universities and the poor people were discriminated because of their background even if they were excellent students. We were economically blocked, something like Cuba, in the 90's people still used rubber diapers for their babies and the black and white tvs were a thing until the early 2000's. Memes aside Pinochet was a shitty leader, he was controlled by the chicago boys and the CIA, he was a mere gredy puppet that used his power to steal from the state and save that money in swedish bank accounts, the people that are in the military, love him because he created an early retirement for them, were they can retire when they are 50's and get a lot of money and are able to still work.

>Hitler and Pinochet were bad, prove me wrong faggot
you're a bad person

Well Chile is now the most successful country economically in south america, I doubt that would be the case if Allende had not been coup d'etat'd and had been able to go full socialism

>who killed innocent people just because they believed differently
You and I both have the privilege of living in a country where there has been enough resistance against communists to avoid the next stage of violent struggle, at least to this point.
The 'different beliefs' the helicopter enthusiasts just so happened to have lead to immediate and horrific suffering if enacted in any meaningful way.
Pinochet had no interest in seeing that happen in his own country.

But it wasn't because of pinochet or because of the free market, the only reason we improved is because the copper price rise up thanks to china, the 50% of our GPD is because of the copper we sell to china

the aim of socialism is not to improve the economy but to abolish it completely

Germans coincidentally became very interested in war-time conventions and treaties whenever they began losing ground or hitting new technology/strategies. The Allied mass-starvation of the Axis was not necessarily misguided, and my issue is more with how much death was caused by it that is still attributed to German hands.
There's a mythical bubble around Europoors and Burgers alike that has shielded them from the consequences of WINNING a war, let alone losing one.

Do you think you would've been better off without a free market?

...

that depends. you can have a socialist free market like the proudhonian mutualists or you can have an economy that doesn't assign money values tho things and allocates according to demand based on free agreement and cooperation like kropotkin envisioned. both are more stable and desirable than current captialism and when theyve been tried theyve worked very well before having their autonomous zones invaded but like economically speaking im cool with a free market if its mutualist but it would not be my first choice

It takes a long time for a people to recover from socialism. Brazil still hasn't recovered.

>you can have a socialist free market
No that's impossible

If you regulate the wages and how business should operate you no longer have a free market and that's literally what socialism is all about

There's no free market in chile in a grand scale, sure it exist in small bussines and in small areas, but the rest is controlled by a few major corporatives that monopolize the market fixing the prices between them and paying under the table to the politicians from both sides left and right, also the only reason we benefit from the copper is because Allende nationalized a part of the copper, before he killed himself, he even intended to make chile the first ciber-goverment in the world to avoid burocracy

es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nacionalización_del_cobre
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Cybersyn

Tbh, the poverty line was that low before Pinochet too.

>let me expose how fucking ignorant I am about socialism
Thanks, Hans.

While i would love to see modern commies take the helicopter ride, you should keep in mind it wasn't only the commies that got them under Pinochet.

This, Castro killed over 150k and they kissed his ass when he died. The left are hypocrits.

Here's the redpill: Chile was going to have a dictatorship by the end of the seventies, were it socialist-communist or nationalist-fascist. There was already constentation to the socialist government by 1973. Allende would have become a full dictator, supported by Cuba and the USSR, by 1975.

If he had become a dictator, he would have got rid of the nationalist elements of Chilean society, Pinochet included. However, CIA helped them to organize to stage a coup beforehand, although CIA did not plan the coup itself, being it of the Chilean Army's responsibility

Perhaps if Allende had become a dictator he would have been now demonized in Chile, instead of being a Saint. Perhaps Pinochet would be the martyr. Perhaps all of South America would be more right-wing. I don't know what would be the best scenario.

All I know is that Chile was bound to fall into dictatorship, and that Pinochet was the best thing that ever happened to Doctor Allende and that rapist Neruda

You get the first ride in my chopper
Wtf that looks like star trek kek

So you're saying the economy was absolutely fine when Pinochet came and he made no positive impact whatsoever on it?

>Summary

Most people will tell you that life under Pinochet was terrible. Cause it was.

But, anyone with half a brain realizes that under Allende it would've been much worse. Commies are more dangerous than any dictatorship.

Pinochet didnt help the economy. Milton friedman did.

Friedman is a redpill

fpbp

you think socialism means "government interference in the market" and thats not what it is at all. socialists want to get rid of bosses and landlords and institute a property rights system based on occupancy and use that would constitute social ownership of the means of production that would typically federate and cooperate on logistics without government interference via free agreement.the progenitors of free market politics were socialist anarchists like lysander spooner and proudhon. communist anarchist joseph dejaque coined the word "libertarian" 150 years ago and afaik in most places throughout the world outside of the USA and UK that word still has left wing connotations. a lot of anarchist ideas, words and imagery have been appropriated by the well funded radical neoliberal right wing since the 1970s. that still doesnt change the fact that working for a boss is no basis for liberty. you can use that definition of socialism if you want but in the end youre just arguing against a strawman position that nobody actually holds unless theyre idiots like The Young Turks

allende was a weak social democratic reformist not some stalinist blanquist mastermind, this take is really ridiculous desu

False
Fun fact: Pinochet was one of the closest people to allende, in fact he was the last general to approve the coup d'etat and in the last moment he was influenced by his wife's family, Pinochet was from a low middle class family and married in a high class family to be able to become a general.

The economy wasn't good back then, we had a lot of boycots by part of USA because they hated commies back then after missile crisis, Pinochet slowed down the grown of the country, anyone that say the opposite is because he doesn't know a shit about our history and economy.

Thank you for your private definition of socialism

If I look around to any fucking country that calls itself socialist or to the policies of any fucking party that calls itself socialist I really really doubt you know what you're talking about

And don't give me your muh 19th century bs words can change their meanings

The struggle between communists and rightists in Latin America was only a circus mounted by (((them)))

friedman's economics contradict themselves on the most basc levels

>just because they believed differently
You say this like it isn't a legitimate reason to kill someone
"Believing differently" is what leads to this shit in the first place, it's why the pen is mightier than the sword

Also communists aren't innocent

Also Allende was elected democratically by the citizens, he never implemented any harsh law against the rich people.

look at rojava, tito's yugoslavia, anarchist spain, anarchist ukraine and the EZLN. words can also retain their meanings just so you know

You tell me.

My mom is chilean and obviously she doesnt like him but for meh

m.youtube.com/watch?v=Kf9CQPi8Oz0

Chile was and is the few safe countries to visit in latin america (the whole country) thanks to a strong, militarized police force.

Yes that is why chile has less poverty, highest hdi and more gdp than the shithole that is south america.

Friedman turned around chile from a shirhole to the best place in all of south america

Go back commie

Interesting perspective

Well I was just wondering because in all of the economic freedom rankings chile is very high up at the top and I'm just thinking that didn't come out of nowhere
Fun fact: None of them has had a long lifespan

Go back to leftypol

I don't think anyone could compete with Trujillo.
Guy made Pinochet and Franco look like leftist sympathisers

>education system gets ovrhauled (and turned into the best of the region)
>education system gets ovrhauled
>best of the region

>poverty gets almost eradicated

AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Isn't the poverty thing true though? That's what my history teachers (who were centrists) taught me.

>communist
>people

except for the people killed by said police force

Looks like the EZLN agrees with Trump on NAFTA.

>The Zapatista Army went public on January 1, 1994, the day when the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) came into effect. On that day, they issued their First Declaration and Revolutionary Laws from the Lacandon Jungle. The declaration amounted to a declaration of war on the Mexican government, which they considered so out of touch with the will of the people as to make it illegitimate. The EZLN stressed that it opted for armed struggle due to the lack of results achieved through peaceful means of protest (such as sit-ins and marches).

The best pile of shit in a pile of shit is still the best pile

explain how prices are formed and then we'll talk

>kill commies
>avg lifespan increases

Commies confirmed as life-sucking parasites

pinochets government hat a short lifespan too, idiot

False, we were the failed project of friedman, if you want to look a good example of the free market from friedman perspective look at Hong Kong or Singapore, we mainly sell copper and other primary products.

The difference is the shitty socialist "utopias" you mentioned were all overthrown whereas pinochets chile was morphed into a democracy through referendum

I dont neeed to explain shit. I just look at evidence.

Point still stands. Chile is the best place in south america because of friedman

If you want to know how Allende's Chile would have turned out, just look at Venezuela.

The poverty measurement our country uses is heavily flawed, and an absurd representation of reality. People that don't quite count as poor in the eyes of the measurement line often live worse and outright poor people. This is mostly due to the welfare benefits the lower class gets.

Here comes the chicano, spewing shit with it's grotesque, inhuman tongue.

funnily enough anarchists and socialists were opposing globalization before trump. nafta fucked over the working class of mexico and thats why theyre all leaving mexico. it made it essentially impossible for farming to be profitable. trump's problem with nafta is that it doesnt favor the US enough and treats all the partners equally. anarchists were disrupting WTO and world bank summits all over the world in the 90s. this isnt some gotcha

It wasn't Friedman who helped with the political stability that followed Pinochet's regime either, it were the political reforms of Jaime Guzman, his creation of right-wing political parties and his constitution.

Without this, Chile could well have turned Bolivarian in the last decade, as the others Latin American countries governed by the left.

Jaime Guzman and gremialismo is the final pill to take.

Well, yeah. That's how those things work. Safe for the majority, unsafe for the minority. Otherwise, especially in latin america, I imagine it would be the majority that would be unsafe rather than the minority. Though, if you were to go to chile in the current year I doubt you'd be killed under mysterious circumstances by the police. Seriously, name one other country with absolutely zero crime infested no-go zones in that region. You'll maybe be able to think one or two other places, at best.

"overthrown" zapatistas and rojava are still ticking

Sometimes the first post is the best possible post

Movie?

"i dont need to explain shit" is basically the whole of austrian economics lmfao

"What is Argentina ?"

Like I said some post ago, it was because Allende and Ibañez del campo were able to see the value of the copper in the future and nationalized the copper, after that pinochet privatized a part of it to get money and also stealed a part of that money for the military, so he could get a solid support from the common soldiers.

Zapatistas are a meme guerilla group and don't govern shit, rojava only exists as long as putin allows it to because erdoturk is eager to strike

>tfw gave a presentation on Pinochet a few weeks ago and snuck in helicopter pics and redpills on Allende throughout it

I'm actually Asian, just pointing out that you live in the best pile of shit south of the border, you piece of shit

A shithole

I dont support pinochet.

Ok comrade

I just read a book about Allende's Chile, written by a leftist. It was already as bad as today's Venezuela, perhaps worse. Of course, the lefty author wants to double down, and blames the failure on not being revolutionary enough instead of blaming the failure on his own failed ideology.

"safe for the majority unsafe for the minority" so is killing all white people on the planet, good idea

souce?

the chicago conspiracy

I get that but can someone explain why hoppean ancaps idolize the dictator pinochet?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archives_of_Terror
lol
>poverty gets almost eradicated
Are you fucking kidding?
Unemployment and poverty were serious issues while he was in power. Holding political views that might address those issues would land you in a torture chamber, labor camp, or in front of a firing squad.

but le he threw le commies le out of le heligopters so he le was le second coming of le Christ le lololol le you are le a communist XDD!!!
/s

regardless, the economics of it work fine and are evidence of existing socialist movements that dont fall into leninist trash

But the friedman model failed and badly here, he was wrong and time already proved it.

ITT: one chilean actually answers the question while a bunch of americans and other degenerates LARP as retards

They could work better

Also taxation is theft so they are illegitimate anyways as any government

Sorry you didn't get dropped out while he was still in power.

youre forgetting antarctica
