Women don't have a need to be physically fit hence why they typically work out like men do. A "fit" women is not necessarily desirable, but a fit man certainly is. Women aren't as interested in sports as men are hence sports is a masculine hobby not a feminine one.

Consider in many species how females choose their mates, and rebuke the advances of those they disapprove of no matter how forceful they become. Think of how even in platoons of chimps, or the simple pack structure of a wolf, you see how the dominant females exert their influence over the group. And again, I assert that while females aren't equipped for the same survival tasks as males they still require strength for their own duties, and physical fitness is always a desirable trait.
