My understanding is that what we call 'Turkish' is fundamentally a mixture of a Central Asian nomadic group (the Turkmen, from what is now Turkmenistan) and the Anatolian Greeks and Armenians who they raped.
The Hungarians are similar, except the Magyars were white.
