Also, marshall Marmont brought Dubrovnik into Illyria (and consequently into Croatia).
But Code Civile was by far the best thing France did for us, it ended the Austrian bullshit serfdom system and basically uplifted Croats from Imperial Russia-tier serfs into an actual civilized European nation.

Realistically the expansion of the country was too brutal and vast to be sustainable, conquering Europe at that time was the equivalent of conquering the world, it's just not doable unless you want to spend every single moment of your existence as a ruler crushing rebellions. Anyway most bonarpartistes don't mourn the conquest, they mourn an the regime, the real tragedy is that we ended with a lame republic that pretty much everyone agree to say that France has been seedy under it since the beginning.
