Average PBS schedule: >12 hours of kids shows with subtle liberal propoganda >PBS Nightly News sponsored by the Democrat party >BBC news telecast for some reason ft. globalists >Marathon of old people selling useless junk - the reality show >Telethon - gib me money pls >some shitty opera or theater program >science/nature documentary about muh climate change >random episode of forgotten BBC shitcom from 1992 >Telethon #2 - pls gib more $$$$ >random episode of mid-2000s BBC crime drama that is essentially CSI or Law and Order with accents >some fucking history documentary about Democrats being good and Republicans being bad >30 minutes of watching paint dry
Wow. Yeah, this DEFINITELY needs to be funded with billions of taxpayer dollars and not outright shut down.
Sesame Street alone makes enough in Merch to fund PBS 20 times over.
Bentley Myers
Exactly. Pull the fucking plug on that shit. Let the free market decide if it's worth keeping around.
Carter Carter
PBS is a fucking scam. They're getting funding 3 ways.
1. Government tax dollars and subsidies. 2. Private funding "from people like you" 3. Corporations aka Libby's Juicy Juice/Diaper commercials between programs.
The same liberals saying it's so great but why don't they run the whole thing on your donations or add more commercials and compete like everyone else? Shows like Sesame Street allow it to be played for "Free" but they make millions in toy and book merchandise so essentially they get free air time to promote their shit.
Carter Howard
The problem is that Sesame Street's profits all go back into research and development for the show itself.
Blake Myers
>subtle Check WordGirl, my man.
>sassy bright superheroine of color >with a vibrantly diverse posse >the only noble white in the show is some crippled faggot who can't even wipe his own ass without the aid of some charitable PoC >all the other whites belong to some dastardly Aryan family that's always lying, stealing, and cheating, until they're thwarted by the show's dynamic shitskin superhero team I don't think Pravda could've made up bullshit like this.
Dylan Flores
What a shocker. WordGirl is made by the same company behind the Adult Swim show Home Movies which can be summed up with the following: >*farts* *boogers* *constipation joke* hehehehe silly jason he's so fat >dude it's le Bob's Burgers/Archer man voicing a 30 year old alcoholic loser soccer coach with a nihilist view on life >dude it's le metal musician guy playing a boy who does poorly in school and gets into HIGHlarious hijinks with his friends >coach man: "say kid, how about you hang out with me, so i can get drunk and audibly burp and whilst making sarcastic tryhard comments all the time?" >DAE the movie Tron xD???? le movies references thooo???? >single mothers with black babies are STRONG WOMYN >oh yeah let's get Louis C(uc)K to play the ex-husband too >singalong numbers in every episode for no real reason >dude all the episodes are totally improvised!! Isn't that so wacky?!?!??! >bro the animation is terrible ON PURPOSE, duh!
Alexander Morgan
I hated watching Sesame Street so much as a youth. Fucking can't even barely get TV transmissions on the antenna and of course one of them is PBS.
Or maybe it was for the better. An early taste for your multicultural bullshit and how Jews are a vile, evil kind of thing.
Benjamin Gutierrez
It was funded by the (((hellena-rubenstein))) (((foundation)))
Good thing they always announced that.
Adam Taylor
>but they make millions in toy and book merchandise so essentially they get free air time to promote their shit. I think you completely forgot the fact that Sesame Workshop is a completely non-profit organization.
Brayden Roberts
(((non-profit))) organization, you stupid fucking goy
No, never any profits.
Adam Morgan
this
Justin Morris
>>some fucking history documentary about Democrats being good and Republicans being bad It was a century ago before the switch.
Thomas Moore
And what?
Liam Scott
Antiques Roadshow is pretty/comfy/ desu
Aaron Miller
I really, really miss old school nature docs like Wild Discovery that weren't just an hour of crying over climate change.
oh yeah! the big switch! even though the person who claims that was a little kid when it happened, he was obviously an expert on political science
Elijah Morgan
It's leftist shit like everything else Adult Swim has made besides MDE. And it's irritating as fuck. Clearly Rick and Morty took inspiration from that trash.
Also >single mothers with black babies are STRONG WOMYN >oh yeah let's get Louis C(uc)K to play the ex-husband too
is absolutely indefensible. Literal meme show.
Justin Baker
>single mothers with black babies are STRONG WOMYN >oh yeah let's get Louis C(uc)K to play the ex-husband too
That's part of what makes it hilarious, user.
Henry Allen
What are they researchingv the number 3 and the letter T?
Brandon Fisher
Same guy made Metalocalypse too
Mason Wilson
but I like watching paint dry...
Dylan Sullivan
>literally storage wars for 90 year olds
Jaxson Ross
>watching scripted reality shows because they're more exciting Gb2 infowars
Levi Mitchell
PBS used to be really based in the 90's.
>Mr Rogers >Bob Ross reruns >pre-cucked Sesame Street >Nature >Nova >PBS Mystery, you would get stuff like Granada Sherlock Holmes, or Poirot, or Inspector Morse >Keeping up Appearances reruns >occasional broadcasts of operas or some kind of unique show with only intermissions inbetween to sell the thing and shill for the channel's money (I once saw the Blue Man Group on there) >occasional Monty Python and Fawlty Towers >decent children's stuff like Cyber Chase, Clifford, Barney, Theodore the Tugboat, Noddy Shop >Charlie Rose was in his prime, and hadn't been bought by CBS yet >PBS News Hour was still about news, and was the last straight news show on the air when the rest of them became overglorified entertainment in the 00's, Jim Lehrer was still the main anchor and head of the show
Honestly, PBS really was worth it back then. But sadly, PBS these days is no longer the PBS that Mr Rogers defended. And while being "viewer supported" and Govt funded was originally supposed to keep it neutral, it's clear that this failed. because the big organizations and (((non-profits))) that contribute obviously influence it.
Not to mention PBS is run by Paula (((Kerger))) and WNET, the NY/NJ broadcaster affiliate is run by Neal (((Shapiro)))
I miss old PBS
Hudson Miller
>some shitty opera or theater program They don't really do this anymore though (I wish). At best you'll either get an orchestra that does some theater works or people sitting down talking about the work instead of actually showing it.
Ian Scott
Is Arthur red pilled?
Jaxson Baker
>12 hours of kids shows with subtle liberal propoganda Why does Sesame Street make grown ass men shit their skirts? You fucking numbskulls are a fucking embarrassment to America. Kill. Your. Selves!
Connor Perez
>subtle Not really. More like overtly caustic and advertised by Jews.
Christian Butler
They had The McLaughlin Group. That was the only good thing besides the cooking shows and this old house.
Leo Evans
>>PBS Nightly News sponsored by the Democrat party Gonna need some proofs here comrade.
>Wow. Yeah, this DEFINITELY needs to be funded with billions of taxpayer dollars and not outright shut down. You do know that most of the government funding goes toward distributing vouchers to small PBS stations use to get a discount on paying for national programming (NOVA, NATURE, American Experience, so on). Vouchers that the big stations in big cities don't get. So in effect if you remove funding you are pretty much going to shut down rural (heavily republican) PBS stations which can't fully fund themselves via fundraising as their population density is low.
Shutting off government funding WILL NOT end PBS in any large city. Just the rural folks like me.
PBS does not really produce anything (besides paying for different production houses to make a few things here or there). >95% of the stuff you see on your local PBS is made by other affiliated PBS station (WGBH/ WNET/ OPB/ and any other affiliated PBS station). PBS is a corporation to act as a central distribution hub for distributing content between member stations.
So any money that is made on merchandise mostly goes back to the producers of the content, Sesame Workshop. Which is not actually a PBS station but a non-profit organization. But if you but something like NOVA merchandise, that would mostly go back to the producers at WGBH (Boston PBS).
>Let the free market decide if it's worth keeping around. PBS wont go away in any of the big cities, and I think the free market has already decided what is worth keeping. Just look at the current state of History Channel, TLC (The Learning Channel), or Discovery.
Wordgirl is a pretty funny show for what it is. The dad is the best.
Julian Price
NPR really disappoints me with it's ever more obvious bias. I know it's always been 'rich city liberal radio', but it's gotten notably worse since I started listening to it last October. The level of dialogue and discussion about subjects is much better then about 90% of non-print news I've seen but that ever increasing bias undermines it.
And the only people who don't understand why Republicans want to defund it either don't listen to it or are liberals that can't see their own bias.
Kevin Morgan
>billions literally half billion pays for pbs and npr. I like british crime dramas and am happy to be a contributor and pay taxes for those who cant afford it. I grew up without cable tv. PBS was my bread and butter, as I imagine it was for anyone too poor to have cable. Its quality broadcasting done dirt cheap and provided to all, literally the only people you would be denying are poor middle americans with no other options.
and as far as leftist cuckery goes its far tamer than the "your wife will leave you and take your house if you dont buy viagra" commercials on normal tv. commercials are the ultimate kike domain and subliminally destroy american values.
Brody Parker
NPR business news where I am announces their list of major sponsors includes Rockefeller Foundation, Alfred Sloan, Carnegie Foundation and a local Rothshild defense lawfirm, etc. Corporate news should not receive tapayer money! One or the other, PERIOD, npr needs to be defunded.
Caleb Howard
and don't forget Monsanto. NPR is an enemy to the public.
A&E used to show opera and theatre and is now Duck Dynasty and Storage Wars: the channel.
I blame libtards and jews dumbing down the country with lowbrow degenerate programming.
Logan Moore
wrong reply see
Ryan Powell
In a somewhat related tangent, NPR already has regular ads. People are under the weird misconception that having an announcer from the radio station read the ad/plug is any different then just cutting away to something provided by the companies themselves. It's less annoying for sure, but they're still ads.
Juan Hall
underrated
Julian Moore
I like to listen to the list of funding when I sometimes put NPR on.
>the experts from the rosenberg-metzler-kratz foundation for the everlasting subject of peace >the RAND corporation for the everlasting blood sacrifice of war >the Toyota car foundation, with hybrid energy drive, so you can pay you shekeles to absole yourself of your cabon sins >and also your local Rosenberg-Finkelstein Foundation, that cares for your children, because we all need local foundations!
Jackson Smith
Why should uneducated conservatives care about educational programming? It has nothing to do with them.
If you live in a big city then your station is probably well funded (public donations). Defunding NPR would just lead to rural markets losing NPR stations as the demographic density is not there. As public funding mostly goes toward rural subsidies (vouchers), same as PBS. So what you are advocating is to
Also have to remember mostly programs have % limits on corporate donations. Usually something like 3%.
>check flag >Peru.....
>I blame libtards and jews dumbing down the country with lowbrow degenerate programming. It's called the lowest common denominator you stupid fuck. In order to get the biggest audience and highest ad revenue, they target the dumbest among us and hope that the rest of us will watch. And it obviously works.
Anthony Green
I love how this gets no response. Gotta love the effort in these Bannon shills.
Its not the 90s anymore its the (current year) did you really expect them to use the same programming from the 90s?
Jaxson Brooks
its not about the specific programs, it's about their quality, and the fact that they used to be, as a channel, relatively unbiased.
these days, PBS isn't nearly as quality as it used to be.
Julian Morris
>le free market capitalism is bad and made media stupid Stop

I haven't owned a TV in 10 years. I've maybe watched t8 hours worth of TV in that 10 years.

hours of kids shows with subtle liberal propoganda perhaps you should have watched some as a child >PBS Nightly News sponsored by the Democrat party Not true >BBC news telecast for some reason ft. globalists There is no American World News program. So what do you fill your time with?
Ryder Harris
Was never based, was just better
Hunter Ross
even in the current state I would rather have my child watching pbs than the morally bankrupt content on any commerical childrens channel. worse than the actual shows are the commercials, if you want to see the true destruction of American values its in (((commercials)))
Justin Anderson
Well, pbs is a safe haven, like, a bunker when a tornado comes. If the jewish media gets thrashed, they'll hide out there...ya' know... Disney owns espn...
Gabriel Ortiz
>le jews did it Am I doing the reddit le meme right, cause idk.
Noah Rogers
I agree, but that doesn't make PBS any less biased and shit tier now.
Elijah Brooks
t. Soros shill
PBS is libcuck propoganda through and through. It (and other network's decline) is indeed the work of a systematic progressive and globalist effort to dumb down our society and make us complacent to government whims.
James Jones
for me its a question of comparative evils, either billy watches sesame street and super why (which really isnt that bad) and avoids god awful commercials or I spring my own money for cable where he gets to see: >yes goy drink lots of liquor, you cant get laid without it. >Erectile dysfuntion is going to happen to you and will make your wife leave you. >Help all the struggling refugees and gays by drinking your favorite soft drink. >If you buy this toy your parents will give you attention Ill take public media everytime
Eli Taylor
>Complaining about jews is unacceptable on Sup Forums What has the world come to?

how many bannon bucks you guys getting for this?
Adrian Gomez
fuck you shill
it's CTR shills
Aaron Taylor
>not knowing how to follow Sup Forums replies.
Landon Jones
low energy, what all the good shills get promoted after the election? You faggots lost your mojo.
Ryder Morgan
PBS had Mr. Rogers Neighborhood, The Joys of Painting with Bob Ross, Zaboomafoo and Arthur
No, FUCK YOU OP
Asher Harris
>being this woke I don't ever remember PBS airing 11 seasons of "Ancient Aliens", or bait documentaries about newly discovered mermaids.
this fucking channel needs to die, there is nothing worth while watching on it.
They use to at least play Lonely Planet (later the name changed to Globe Trekker), and Bob Ross painting, but not anymore........
Joshua Perry
No, but they're still trash.
And History Channel was calculated. First they build themselves as a bastion of educational media and then they air those programs to confuse and misinform the public at large and berate us with base content, making the public at large even more susceptible to mind control.
Ryder Barnes
Nova is worth keeping but they should just make that show on another channel, like discovery.
Jacob Jackson
or they found a series of successes with a different type of content as they lost revenue from people canceling cable subscriptions to move to streaming services. The pivot was a natural one really. Just a shame we lost a lot of high brow content that the market has effectivly left behind
Juan Morales
You forgot the endless hours of white guilt documentaries about slavery, civil rights, jim crow, the KKK, Native American genocide, etc etc Tons of documentaries about unemployment, poverty, housing projects, and health care - all the problems that big government caused but bigger government can fix. And finally, hours and hours of circle-jerking on how Baby Boomers and the 60s were oh-so-wonderful, the bestest, most cool, radical time ever, man. Imagine how shitty the world would be if THEY hadn't come along with their revolutions! I hate PBS so much.
Carter Carter
There's no more market for high brow content anymore now that cable tv, network tv, streaming, etc. is all controlled by the jews.
Jaxson Howard
theres literally no incentive. the educated demographic has left cable tv behind, if PBS goes than that content goes entirely. PBS will always have my support because Id rather have the govt enabling something intellectual than cutting it and leaving us with a commercial market which has no monetary incentive to fill that gap. some things are worth more to me than a tiny bit of money this is one of them
Lucas Rogers
ABC is still worse.
Asher Brown
So the solution is to cut the last remaining example? I dont get it.
Xavier Clark
Also. How could you forget THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE PRE-CGI
Christian Wright
PBS is NOT the last remaining example. There's nothing left. They're faux-high brow. Programming for pseudo-intellectual Dems, dementia ridden elderly, and fedora wearing SJWs.
Nathan Wood
I see airings of motzart operas and piano conciertos all the time. Also localized election coverage which is far more balanced than anything provided by our deeply right wing local newspaper and heavily leftist local news channels. At one point they aired Kenneth Branaughs hamlet unabridged and without ads. It certainly is the last remaining example for me locally. Also you do realize that PBS is not a channel but an organization that subsidizes content creation? your PBS station is actually a localized entity.
Caleb King
He is pretty disturbing now.
Nolan Nguyen
(((ABC)))
Brandon Bailey
Aww fuck. Does that kid Muscular Dystrophy or Polio?
Poor kid
Christopher Rivera
You're being brainwashed. Sure, every now and then, they through you a bone, make you think they're on your side, get you complacent.
Wake up. There's a reason 99% of the people here hate PBS.
Blake Lopez
Something about having his spinal cord fused together.
Aaron Nelson
>99% of Sup Forums believes it what a strong endorsement, I love being manipulated by bannon analytica shills
Kevin Cooper
Clearly its a much better option to trust the entertainment to 5 jewish entertainment conglometates, nice thinking goy
Joshua White
>There's a reason 99% of the people here hate PBS. Trying to meet a post quota or something? Cause you don't seem to be trying.
Levi Gray
You have no idea how scammy non-profits are almost without exception.
Colton Murphy
so its okay for "non-profits" to shill for funding charter schools with public money when Trump does it but its bad when those no good, scummy jews at the sesame street group do it?
Alexander Turner
t. CTR
That's not what I'm saying at all. But at least they don't posit themselves as being supposed makers and providers of intellectual media.
Christopher Lee
>how scammy non-profits are almost without exception. Like electric co-ops?
Nathaniel Anderson
t. Cambridge Analytica
So whats the solution user? you cant play schrodingers jew where its the kikes in public media and the kikes in commercial media. >at least they dont pretent to be high brow so as long as we acknolage that were chasing the lowest common demoninator its okay. clearly PBS viewers are missing the pro zionest messages embedded in Mozart operas and Nova episodes
Caleb Jones
"public" media is just as kiked as commercial media, which is an insult to capitalism anyway.
YOu have to consume non-mainstream media. PBS are tricksters making people think they're any different from MSNBC and such,
Jason Clark
The reuniting of Jeff and Mister Rogers many years later
Nope, but anything other than the current structure is better. A plate of shit is better than a plate of shit sprinkled in aids That's got community pressure built into it
Jacob Cruz
NPR is much worse. Literally every story they've run since the election is anti-trump. They're even openly admitting that they hate him.
Tyler Clark
Just imagine how many otherwise unemployable people have gotten rich "working" at the gubmint funded cash cow.
