Great 3 picks which I would also have maybe picked. Not musically but lyrics are great on these three artists. Problem with Irwin is that he had other people doing lyrics, he just had a good voice. Also he was really shy and this destroyed him mentally. Leevi aka Göstä was great at writing lyrics but they only did one live show. He lost lots of his credibility for me after the fuckup at eurovision with Juice. Juice after these two, being a wonderful songmaker himself leaves him standing as the best.

Lyrics carry the meaning of a song and given the Finnish tradition for poetic songs.. lyrics have probably dominance in Finnish singing tradition.

You are underestimating the interaction between singer and songwriter, they work in tandem and songwriter doesn't do everything, he does the draft and then they work the final piece together. Irwin was an alcoholic, he wasn't idiot and he had influence on stuff he recorded.

Also true with both Gösta and Juice. They were all quite introvert characters despite becoming famous.

The part where Irwin (+Wexi Salmi if since he was the writing part of combo) fits the puzzle is resentment towards authorities, he did that more openly than anyone else.
Juice is contradiction by all means. So shallow and too fucking deep at same time. So many double or triple entendres on most of his lyrics.
Gösta was just epitome of ironic Finnish humor, yet stuff he wrote is quite deep.
