They protect hard working people from getting fucked over. They also protect dickwads that should be fired.

>get hired at union shop
>work hard and efficiently cause it makes time pass faster and i enjoy doing a good job
>get pulled aside by union leader
>"just who are you trying to impress, son? trying to make us all look bad? don't work any faster than everyone who is around you from now on, got it?"

They are no longer needed and cause more harm than good.

My grandpa once told me if his employees ever thought about unionizing he would fire every single one of them.
He was really good to them tho.

I'm union, I'm
Redpilled, get life insurance fucking hate that they give money to dumbass politicians. It gives you a buffer to idiot politicians.

>Meh, they're still kind of necessary.

Unions are necessary. They have problems, like anything human, but they are necessary.

I believe Strasser even advocated for Guild Socialism.

lazy expensive assholes.
Most unions are run by crime bosses.
They had a place at a time but have be exploited by criminals and politicians.

You can opt out of that, friend. I was IBEW for a number of years and never gave a cent to the filthy Democrats. It's federal law.

I do think unions are necessary in jobs where men put their lives on the line to earn someone else a profit, namely construction and heavy industry. The ability to say, "No, that's too dangerous to do in the way you're asking me to" is important. Also, those jobs deserve decent compensation.

Based user .

they set a high bar that other companies in like industries have to keep in mind when hiring

and that is necessary, because publicly owned companies are unscrupulous on worker pay and benefits

Once served a purpose. They're now corrupt, corporate businesses themselves. Overwhelmingly support Democrats. Should be the first to be strung up on the Day of the Rope.

I'm in the UA. I am union. I am red pilled as fuck. Didn't vote for that lying bitch Hillary Cause my vote was taken away from Sanders. So I gave a middle finger to all the inside politicians in DC. I VOTED TRUMP I DO NOT REGRET MY VOTE AT ALL!!! OH and several Union members I know too voted for him as well.

Disgusting waste of time and resources. Workers should work and be grateful for their wages.

I worked union when I started my apprenticeship. Was brainwashed into thinking that's how all construction jobs operated.

Went non union when the oil went to shit. Completely different. No back stabbing brown nosing fuckheads.

Tldr; unions are for lazy fucks that just want to leech the system.

Used to be halfway worth a damn and did some good things, now just a bunch of shakedown artists.
Somebody else gets to decide if and when you work or strike, how much you will get paid, and how much of it you will give to them for telling your little hive mind what to think.
You're better off in a right to work state, user.

Fpbp

If you work hard, you shouldn't need a (((union))) to protect you. Unions are for lazy cunts that can't face up to personal responsibility.

Always bitching about how they do not make enough, yet make the most by far in the area. Fucking UAW.

Like another user said it's probably a good thing for workers in dangerous occupations to be able to negotiate with the employer to minimize personal risk. On the other hand, it's very easy to see how an organization like that quickly becomes about seniority and putting in the bare minimum, because they protect the shitty workers.

I think the problem is that if they grow beyond the confines of a single workplace, they lose their ground-level sight of things, so they're more likely to insist on harmful blanket perks like "no one gets fired ever"

Unions are like nuclear missiles. The threat of potentially using them is an overall good thing for the world, but actually using unionization is the worst thing you can do for both parties.

There are some positive aspects but unions heavily suffer from being infiltrated by communists who have motives besides just workers rights.

I'm union trade worker and I think that a lot of people on the right make to many generalizations about unions and union workers. It is true that unions often support democrats, almost exclusively as a matter of fact. Union workers, on the other hand, tend to be all over the political spectrum, at least here in the south. Union workers are also not lazy at all, I've worked along side both union and non-union workers and it's about the same.

unions still serve a purpose and there is nothing wrong with collective bargaining. In the construction trades the contractors actually get quite a few benefits from being union. They can hire and lay off at will because of an almost unlimited supply of workers, this leads to less carrying costs. The workers they get are a known quantity, having to pass a practical test given by the union to make sure they are capable. The union handles a lot of the red tape regarding health insurance and the like. My union is in the south so it might be different up north, but I think the power balance is okay here. If anything, the employers still have too much power.

South or North, the experience should be the same since union/employer relations are handled at the Federal level, because states are corrupt as fuck.

>union/employer relations are handled at the Federal level, because states are corrupt as fuck.

> implying the federal govt isn't

>It is true that unions often support democrats
That alone is enough reason to scrap unions. Democrats are traitor scum.

welcome to the IBEW

You've got a better chance at a fair hearing at the federal level. Note: I live in New York and the corruption of our state government is of legendary proportions. ymmv

this.

need some cheese?

Fuck you, lefty scum. Unions are a cancer and Trump is the cure.

scabs headed to the burn ward on that post
Stick to your own island, bucky

they're cancer.
want to know how to keep your wage high? keep others from joining your profession, eliminate competition.
that's exactly what unions do, resulting in higher prices and lower quality goods and services.

Unions has always been a force for evil
Have an incredibly high amount of control over workers, tax them, have no incentive to help them. Destroyed many Western industries by working against automation.

Actually, union construction is an order of magnitude better than non-union. There's a reason non-union shops have a problem doing anything other than residential work. They employ idiots.

>It is true that unions often support democrats, almost exclusively as a matter of fact. Union workers, on the other hand, tend to be all over the political spectrum

And how do you feel about your union dues going to fund Democrats?

youtube.com/watch?v=bcEfOcEsbDc
This is all you need to understand about unions.

Actually served a purpose when they first formed now they're just ways to keep lazy people employed and used for political reasons.

Bureau of I made it up

Most union guys bust their asses all day and do immense physical labor. there are always a few in the bunch (operating engineers) that are on the phone in their cab 24-7 or overweight shitwad flagmen that give the rest of them a bad name.

they're good if you're a below average worker

And you refuted with My Boss Would Fire Me If I Believed Differently, Inc.

unions will monopolize a trade. anyone looking to get into that trade will get their wages garnished to pay "union dues". these dues go toward electing democrats and liberals who want to give unions more power. all newbies have to suck dick and get no benefits other than "your job is protected lulz" and eventually, if you work long enough, you can never get fired even if you fucking rape people.

unions are fucking terrible. the better solution is to have employers competing over a working class. if there's no competition for workers with the necessary skill set, the job is going to suck, and it should.

Pretty much. They do some good and some bad. A lot of the larger unions are no better than large companies.

>Bureau of I made it up
are we comparing apples to apples? construction unions have hard working mofos that CAN be fired. State, federal, and teachers are a different beast

Unions are good. Public sector unions and using union dues for political contributions are not.

>based grandfather

It's tricky because many employers don't treat their employees like your grandfather did, although King Nigger would have you think that your grandfather did nothing to build his business. I think the market generally allows the work force to correct bad situations. Example: I worked at a bar that paid my crew (BOH) shit. I treated them fairly, but I also made sure to give good references when they tried to move into a better situation.

Public sector unions, now those are people with greed and bad intentions on their mind. See: public school teachers unions.

>No back stabbing brown nosing fuckheads.

My job is down the street from a construction project using union labor. I pass the job site twice a day on foot and have witnessed each phase, from the demo of the old building to the present. (I am a loser and do not know my terms, but the bulk of the exterior concrete work appears to be complete, with some new crews appearing to have replaced others because now it's time to do things like electrical and interior masonry.)

I have passed a number of scum-tier, "convict-looking' type people but in fairness that was early on and I even saw one getting send back to the union hall (?) with his nigger buddy. These shady types were in almost every case mid-twenties people who can probably be found watching UFC at BW3.

The older guys I've said hello to have all been friendly and look like they know their shit and while not taking any. I have also witnessed brief snippets of work-related discussions best described as "somewhat heated."

My only union experience was at Kroger. Lots of lazy, stupid people there but also some kind, decent, hardworking family people. In the end, the sketchy relationship most Locals have with the Left has left me with a somewhat negative opinion on Unions on the whole. I think they are still needed, just in need of honest leadership.

tl;dr
I'm a rambling, manic retard.

>they're good if you're a below average worker

t. stupid kid that thinks you get ahead in life on merit.

Hard work is important. Unions make "workers" lazy. Unions are cancer.

i've worked for the last 20 years and have been promoted when appropriate. sorry that you haven't enjoyed the same success.
