What dogma don't you agree with? As for modernism, there is a huge traditional wing in the Catholic Church and it is undergoing a revival. If you want to see change in the Church then be a part of that change. Modernism is a problem in Orthodoxy too.

Because God wanted a perfect woman free from original sin to carry His Son. And toll houses were pretty much universally accepted, the Orthodox have only begun to question it as of late because it sounds "too Catholic". Seraphim Rose for example taught about the toll houses and he was very much a traditionalist.

To start you should accept Christ and read up on theology and the bible. Don't start with genesis, start with the new testament. I recommend starting with Romans or Corinthians and then doing the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John).

The epistles get across the main points of Christianity and they're short, it's easy to spend an hour and read Romans instead of potentially being overwhelmed by attempting to read the gospels immediately

I disagree. I never had a problem. Especially with Luke, who was a fantastic writer. my bible has all of the words of christ written in red, so it's a bit more clear. I prefer it that way. personally I put more into the gospels than the epistles. the epistles contain great stuff, but overall I'd rather read the gospels.
