Is drunk driving as bad as people and the laws stay it is?

Is drunk driving as bad as people and the laws stay it is?

I know a few other people that do it with no problem so ive been getting into the habit too just so I can sleep in my own bed.

It's not the challenge that's not recommended; sometimes people die because a drunk person propels two tons of steel into them.

Nah. It's a cheap citation that has absolutely no repercussions down the road. Go for it.

I know people who do it multiple times a week
I don't agree with it, but it seems it can be done without killing anyone I know (yet)

Sure, by all means go ahead, nothing bad can happen

My best friend in high school lost his sister to a drunk driver. He pulled over and shot her with an Uzi.

The exact same thing happened to my old girlfriend. And her great aunt. And my cousin. When will people learn?

A drunk guy ran me over with his car as I was fixing my bike on a really wide bicycle lane(there was no sidewalk). Considerable portions of my upper left side is paralyzed, along with cracking my pelvis in half, and snapping my neck only millimeters away from complete paralysis and crushed my feet and legs and my right arm.

I died by bleeding out on the streets where he left me. After 3 weeks in a coma amongst other things I'm upright but will never be the same again.

I'm forced to be a NEET and can no longer return to my trade cause its a two armed gig. Plus I weigh around 110lbs now. I'm such a loser now. 4000 pound car at your 6 going 50mph with a drunk at the wheel is no joke...I still can't believe I survived.....lucky me?

The pain never stops.
Feels bad man.

I had a giggle

>falling for the liquid jew

Fucking hell.

I take it you've never had a relative or friend die as a result of a drunk driver.

I clearly stated that I don't agree with it
I don't do it and I strongly warn my friends against doing it
I was simply saying that I know people who do it often and they haven't died/killed anyone yet

Drunk driving is the most red-pilled type of driving. I've driven so fucked-up that it was all I could do to aim for the space in-between the two complete lanes I couldn't make look like the single lane I was in. Nothing bad ever happened. To be fair, I got lucky. I stopped that bullshit years ago, and don't do it anymore. Had I been pulled over, I'd have paid for my stupidity with my livelihood. Had I hit someone, I stood to do real jail time. I might have had to live with something irreversible, too. It was a foolish youthful indiscretion. Call a cab/uber/lyft. Even a long cab ride combined with a return cab ride is way cheaper than nearly any outcome that doesn't include waking up in your own bed with no idea of how you got there.

Ist a safest way to get home drunk. Sit in your truck and drive, nothing can stop you, not police, not pedestrians, not cars...

You can feel like ISIS warriors in Europe. Put a amile on your face and brick on your throtle

your fault really.

>so I can sleep in my own bed.
I've got a great solution for you OP. Stop drinking.

Driven home drunk a couple of times, not too bad for me because my house is fairly remote and there's never any traffic on my road, but I don't think its a wise idea if your on a XXXXL American super ultra highway.

Restrictions the car to no faster than 10mph, have a big flashing lights on the top of the car.
This is how to legalise drunk driving

I've driven intoxicated exactly once, killed a roo, spent a fortune on repairs. Never again.

I don't even drink that much though, alcohol is a degenerate waste of calories for a two hour good feeling.

>Is drunk driving as bad as people and the laws stay it is?

No.

When I was a dumb kid, I used to do it. Never had a problem with it, desu. Of course, all my moron friends did, too. They were a lot dumber about it than I ever was. They all got DUIs that ruined their lives. Eventually I learned, and I don't do it any more. Honestly, in the modern era of Uber, there is zero reason to drive drunk.

Absolutly not, it's really fun.
Especially in reverse watching your mirrors. You can even impress cops and they usually let you go without a warning.

I though all Australians drove big fuck off Land Cruisers that have spiked bull bars on them.

all it takes is one time slipping up and you will be affected for the rest of your life. Probably pretty badly but at the very least a felony. Can't you uber or some shit?

I used to be a hardcore alcoholic.
I drove drunk all the time but I was extremely careful & attentive. Never had any issues. It is a pretty shitty thing to do though.

Nah, some ride kangaroos but they're shy about it.

I don't think little uber beta cars are going to make it to where I live, my options are pretty limited, either freeze to death in my truck or wait a couple hours then try make it home, it's the main reason I don't go to the pub all that often.

I blame myself more than him tbqfh.

I remember some co workers who were fathers in the 50s tell me stories of how common drinking while driving was, even with the family in the car. Roads a bit different now.

In the 70s myself ,brother and father would go to pub.
Father would get drunk and drive home with us kids sitting in the front.
Freedom of those days is unimaginable now.
OMG he was drunk and had kids in the car and was
smoking as well

Out of curiosity, how oldfag are you? 60-ish?

Man, it's not bad at all. Look up the statistics.

There are over a million DUI arrests in the USA each year, yet only a few thousand crashes involving alcohol. Most people who drive drunk make it home safely.

Driving is an inherently dangerous activity. It will never be completely safe. We just have to have statistics that we're comfortable with. A few thousand people dying each year because of millions of drunk drivers doesn't seem so bad.

Fuck, people die falling in the bathroom and shit. We just have to be comfortable with the statistics.

Drinking and driving isn't bad at all. I saw on one of those shows about cops a fuckin' drunk ass legal immigrant driving drunk. The dude didn't really speak and comprehend English. He consented to a breathlyzer test and blew over the limit. The cop said, "Well, he's over the limit, but since he doesn't really speak English I don't think it will hold up in court that he consented." So the cop drove the man to a hotel, made sure he purchased a room, and bid him a goodnight.

Dude if the cops can fuckin' do that shit... why don't they do it more often? It's a fucking gay ass crime and you shouldn't support it.

Sorry, I'll be more careful next time. Maybe even stop to help.

do it, its not like people live in your frozen wasteland anyways, if you kill a moose, 'ey, free dinner for a few months. unless you live in a big city, its not a big deal.

maybe stop drinking so much

They might not have done it yet, but the fact remains that they are statistically so much more likely to damage people and/or property while driving intoxicated that it warrants a penalty for putting people in that kind of danger.

It's only illegal as a "line in the sand", everyone knows you can drive while drunk, you're just more likely to have a crash. Reaction times are impaired by alcohol.

I drive drunk, and I know that it's only a matter of time before I get caught. When I do I'll have no one to blame but myself. Trying to cut down on the booze but not easy.

Drink at home, you degenerate.
Fuck, it amazes me how people will pay $7 to drink a beer in a place that stinks like piss and is filled with a bunch of cunts who want to fight you.

Gay crime, you can go to jail literally for hurting noone, or stealing from anyone. Yea its not wise but the punishments have gotten out of hand.

You want to drink and drive, buy your own roads.
Until then you have to abide by the road rules, which protect everybody.

That's socialist talk!!!

now I want some crazy billionaire to fund "drunks only" toll roads
with webcams and remote controlled obstacles for premium webcam service subscribers
that would be a hoot

who /knows their limits/ here?

I've been given two field sobriety tests (DUI checkpoints on holidays) and passed both times.
It's fine to have a couple beers and drive home

Having done it quite a few times without incident. I could offer some advice.

The best advice is to call a cab or a friend to come pick you up. But, sometimes that is just not possible or feasible. So, I might get shit on for encouraging this, which I'm not, but here's some tips where you can make it home without killing yourself or someone else:

Most important: Realize that you're fucked up and cannot drive the same way as when you're sober. Your reaction time is longer, so take it real easy.

Try not to be noticed. The way to avoid getting noticed is to keep your speed down and don't change lanes. Stay in the right lane and keep your speed down. If there's someone in front of you, suck it up and don't try to pass.

If your not careful, you might wind up going over the speed limit and a cop will first pull you over for speeding and THEN will realize your plastered. Cruise control is the drunk driver's best friend.

Roll down the window and let cold air blast you in you face. It'll keep you awake.

Driving on a straight monotonous road might allow you to pass out behind the wheel. A curvy, but not too curvy road might keep your mind active enough to avoid passing out.

Choose a route less traveled. Less traffic means less chance of hitting someone or something. Cops also don't usually hang out on roads with little traffic.

If you're pulled over, you're probably fucked. But, if you keep it polite and try to pretend you sober, maybe the cop might just slap you a ticket for what he pulled you over for. Whatever you do don't mouth off. In fact, talk as little as possible. This actually happened to me, but that was before they really started cracking down on this shit.

Realize just how drunk you are. If you just can't make it home, pull over somewhere like a parking lot and sleep it off.

it's funny that nothing in this post checks out
