Nostalgia should be the icing on an already delicious cake. If the cake is made of shit, no amount of nostalgia will fix that. It doesn't matter how much fucking nostalgia people have for it or how much people enjoyed its predecessor - if it's shit people won't watch it. People loved Mythbusters, but its Netflix 'successor' White Rabbit Project gets abysmal reviews because despite involving some of the same crew and the same tricks and gimmicks it isn't nearly as interesting or well-written.

the first episode was basically bill going apeshit about climate change iirc, like he even went on a two minute rant about how he hates 'climate change deniers'
after that he had an interview with an engineer who had plans to revolutionize the american electric grid, and a correspondent who went to venice and showed off a sick automated dam that would be used to adjust the water level of the city
then they went on a long tirade about how getting 'denier' politicians out of office and voting for 'green laws' would fix climate change. bill and all his friends even screamed 'VOTE' in unison at one point
