It's an MRAP for an EOD team. It is small because it is towed or pushed in front of a larger vehicle, and a third world EOD team is only a couple of guys with some sensors and C4/grenades they throw at an IED until everything blows up.
Notice how it does not even have an engine? It is a budget option for a cheap armored vehicle company, as opposed to a 100 million american MRAP with a full 10 million dollar electronic warfare suite.
The way this small armored vehicle works is that they push it up close to where they think a bomb is, the guy opens the hatch on top and throws explosives onto the IED, then they pull it out and detonate.

I built a scenario in CMANO of modern argie military attempting to seize the falkland islands.
Never the less, the Argies got rid of all but 1 Tornado, managed to land their troops but lost their borrowed Sao Paulo Brazillian carrier to British subs, wiping out their whole carrier-air-arm.
The royal marines and FIDF garrison managed to hold them off for a while but the island fell to the Argies.
right up until the Royal Navy showed up (absent of carrier, thanks leftist govt).
Then unconditional re-taking of the island.
Basically if you try take the falklands again, you may just pull it off lol.

That armour is thicker than you'd think, my dad was caught in an ambush while driving one and got away totally unharmed. They also had a 360 shotgun mounted in the roof which would blast anything in the surrounding area.
But the Costa Guard is one of the best CGs in the world. They use our old PB's and drive them good.

The Rhodesians basically invented the MRAP and built that thing with local resources while every country in the world except South Africa and Portugal was embargoing them. They did a fantastic job creating a functional vehicle responding to the threats of time with the resources at hand.
