However, most of his show is bringing people in and interviewing them so it can be hit or miss with each interview.

I can mention Karl Wittfogel, though he became anti-commie in the 50s. Great historian and Oriental Despotism is Sup Forums advanced reading.
Michel Foucault is interesting, but I doubt he's even really considered left. Even he had absolutely terrible opinions relating Sup Forums matters, but that's what you expect from someone openly praising the islamic revolution.
Honestly it's rather hard to find, because at the end of the day, it's not faults in character or bad luck, leftism is trash from the foundations.
