Gallipoli, 489,000 mostly British (including ANZAK forces) with some French vs 315,500 Turks
You basically hopped on a beach and thought you were going to march all the way to Constantinople, got pinned down on the shore, never made it to the interior, got shot up for nine months, took heavier casualties then you inflicted and finally left with your tails between your legs
so next time you want to talk shit about the "Turkroach" just remember who kicked who's ass
Gavin Rivera
Seen the Ottoman Empire recently? Me neither. They won the battle, lost the war.
Dominic Ross
>hold beachhead thousands of miles from home for 8 months before deciding to withdraw >ass "kicked"

Sorry mehmet. The Ottoman Empire doesn't exist anymore. We dismantled it.
Angel Peterson
The Brits were already prepping the Pakistani bull, so they threw white men at Roach cliffs in a form of ritual flagellation.

Who won the war again?
Levi Hernandez
Funny thing was that the Turks under Mustafa Kemal dismantled the ottoman empire to dispose of the sultan who was an allied puppet after the war. They managed to hold off against a coalition of Italians, Greeks, French, British and Armenians all after their clay. The ottoman empire was abolished and reformed as the Republic of Turkey by the Turks themselves.
Lucas Hernandez
Didn't we dismantle your empire a few years later?
Jonathan Perez
Who won the war, Mehmet?
Alexander Evans
diggers were meters away from securing that fucking hill the stupid brits sent us up. meters away from from taking turkey and constantinople. If it was not for fucking churchill sending us to the wrong beachhead we would have prevailed. Every time Australian forces are put under foreign command we get screwed. When we command our own we fuck shit up (emu's aside). Ask the Viet cong why they avoided engaging Aussie troops after Long Tan
Dylan Edwards
>The partition of the Ottoman Empire (Armistice of Mudros, 30 October 1918 – Abolition of the Ottoman Sultanate, 1 November 1922) was a political event that occurred after World War I and the occupation of Constantinople by British, French and Italian troops in November 1918.
They only held off the Greeks. Also Ataturk and his followers were just filling a void left by the empire.
Bentley Butler
look at this nigger! Dude, Ottoman empire is over you won the gallipoli campaign, but look what it cost you
Thomas Hill
saged, go to /his, /int or /sp to get a thread out of this

Which was not easy to do, considering that constantipol was in allied hands, and the Greeks seeking to reclaim their anatolia lands. The Turkish army was in shambles at the point and dealing with invasions from multiple fronts and yet they managed to defeat the Greeks enough to convince the allies that it was not worth it to chase after the Turks and return the Greeks their rightful territory.
