Women account for maybe 10% of the people doing the work I do, and an easy half of them are nowhere near qualified for their jobs. They just get hired because men lack the balls to recognize how terrible they are and treat them like men, and women don't want the scam to go away. The closest related skill in my field that has the most women is, no coincidence, the one that relies the most on socialization over technical skillset.
