So Sean Spicer gave a press briefing that cleared up some confusion regarding the budget bill. Basically, Fiscal Year 2017 runs from October 2016 to September 2017. The money for this fiscal year was all collected and accounted for in October of last year. However, Congress managed to cockblock Obama and forced him to only have control of how the money was allocated from October 2016 to April 28, 2017. This current budget bill is to determine how the rest of Obama's money should be allocated.
So to recap

A 6 month budget extension doesn't fix the immigration crisis. It might give us the leverage for ACA repeal though and then time to get a decent budget passed before October.
