Can anyone explain this meme?

If you take that you will need a pill every day until you die

Which is what I don't understand. So many people on this stuff for what is essentially forever yet our suicide rates are going up, people aren't happier. What other measure of success can we use for these drugs that it hasn't already failed at?

After social media ppl got more isolated and depressed

Pills can't make up for genuine human interaction

Increase in firearms is a value greater than decrease in depression

It's only whites and asians killing themselves. Africans lack enough self-awareness to do it intentionally.

Who was that guy talking about suicide mass murder pills?

Punch card computer that gassed Jews and blue whale game. Make your own charts and ignore metrics.

Your welcome!

People have also became less religious which is another factor. Also you can see that poorer countries have lower suicide rates since they have always known suffering.

Yeah and if you smoke one time youre hooked for life.. One drink causes life long alcoholism.. One burger saturates your blood with lard and you will have a massive heart attack by the time youre 28.. Back to /ck/ with you weak willed spineless millenials..

Suicides are usually impulsive, mix of drugs + bad day.
Culture is more permissive of alcohol/drug abuse than it used to be, more kids are raised to be emotionally unstable snowflakes. Medication for depression is only really effective when there's a biological cause, it won't work on snowflakism.

Antidepressiva is today what heroin was in the 30s.

Antidepressants are a gateway drug to the hard drugs.

People are taught from an early age that there exists a chemical solution to familiar/cultural/problems problems.

It's almost like the pills don't treat the underlying cause of depression and just make you feel a shallow, meaningless happiness for as long as you take them until the effects slowly wear off due to a build-up of tolerance and attempting to kick them sends you spiraling into depression.

Prozac in particular is prescribed for all sorts of shit. It's used to treat mania, but can induce manic episodes. It's used to treat major depressive disorder, but can induce suicide. We have no fucking clue what these drugs do besides make you feel happy. Maybe they actually do help if you have a condition which prevents you from getting enough seratonin, but we have absolutely no way to test for that. We just give them out like candy to anyone who feels bad about themselves.

Most depression is caused because your life sucks. We're too lazy to fix that, so we just take drugs to make us forget it.

It's almost like being put on pills for life isn't helping. Who'da thunk it?

Mental illness is going up. Lots of possible reasons: relative poverty, unrealistic expectations due to social media, divorce rates skyrocketing etc. Pic related shows correlation between income inequality and mental illness but I haven't looked into the other factors.
Pills will help with some depression but it doesn't help suicide rates and makes it more likely if anything.

Loss of religion has a shitload of compounding issues.
1) Less social interaction. Before everyone in town would meet at Church every Sunday to pray, eat a brunch, associate, and have fun. Maybe go play baseball or whatever after Church. People were forced to be a part of a community. People were literally banned, by law, from working to force this.
2) No "school of life". Church gives people a way to live their lives correctly. The Book of Proverbs is literally an entire book of sayings on how to live life. It gives people good advice too, like work hard and you'll succeed. Before God died, everyone spent an hour a week being told good tips on how to live. In ancient society, this was even more valuable as the tips are a lot more directly applicable to them. There's even some miscellaneous farming advice in there.
3) Lack of reason to not commit suicide. Before we had a final barrier to suicide, fear of eternal damnation. Since everyone who commits suicide is supposedly damned, there's a reason not to even if your life is total shit. It's grim, but now people just don't have a reason not to kill themselves. Today, if you know your life will generally suck you have every incentive, logically, to commit suicide.
4) Lack of higher purpose. Religion gives people an inherent calling. You exist to be a part of something - God's plan. It gives meaning to your suffering and a liberating feeling of direction. People despise not having a reason to exist. People can find other reasons to live, of course, but we no longer have that "default" purpose of existing because it's God's plan.

He wasn't saying it makes you addicted, he's saying Prozac only helps if you keep taking it. Anti depressants just help numb how you're feeling, they don't cure it.

Latvia is religious and has one of the highest suicide ratios in the world, while Estonia's is far lower while being far more atheist.

So your assumption is proven wrong, religion has nothing to do with it.

>Church gives people a way to live their lives correctly
You probably should watch this movie (the most outraging detail about it is that guy acts exactly according to the bible)

>Meaningless graph with the sole purpose of supporting a socialist narrative.

its called treating the symptoms, not the disease.

like when you get a cold, you dont get medicine to cure it, but to help you cope with the symptoms, the disease is still there.

You can't fix social issues with drugs

This seems to be the big issue. People are being told that for every issue there exists a pill. For every conflict there is a psychiatrist chair to weep on.

If there was a pill for every issue with no side effects, would you not take it?

There is a negative correlation between suicide and religion.

Oh yes you can.

the lower graph is homicides

Crash suicides cause car purchases because the old one is wrecked.

The society is treating normies worse every day.

These people think that there is something wrong with them and try to treat it with pills.
They cannot comprehend the big picture, that many people are affected and don't fight, but give up.

SSRI's are memes shilled by pharmaceutical industries, propagated by ((established)) academia and medicine who have largely ignored the usually outlawed but often far superior/neurologically-active/beneficial and $unpatentable$ psychedelics.

eg. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endocannabinoid_system

Imagine if they tried selling you brandname colored sugar water as a treatment for vitamin B/D/etc deficiency. That is basically the state of pharmaceutical industry and modern drug-war-era medicine as it stands today.

There's no correlation, melonhead. I was trying to prove a point about the graph that he posted.

depends on the religion. ofc if people are religious and suicide is a sin they will not kill themselves.

But there isn't and never will be

Increased risk of suicidal thoughts are a side affect od Anti-depressants. They also make you more dozed than before. They aren't a cure, they just mask your feelings. Instead of feeling depressed, you feel nothing and bottle up you emotions. So when you gain an immunity to the pills, all your bottled up emotions come flooding back at once. The proper way to handle depression is to talk to a professional and figure out the cause.

Oh no the horror. The US has more income inequality but has a higher GDP compared to the rest of those countries. Guys its the greedy 1% fault for our problems we need socialism.

SUICIDE MASS MURDER PILLS

I mean, it sounds like hippie garbage, but just doing basic mindfulness techniques let me cut my use of Prozac entirely.

Most people's lives don't suck, they just have convinced themselves that their life sucks.

But here I am, in an air-conditioned building, with plenty of food and clean water, and truth be told? I'm pretty content.

Folks just forget to be thankful, especially in places where most things aren't a daily struggle. I don't have to walk to get water, I don't have to burn a fire at night to keep warm, I can shitpost on the internet rather than spending every waking hour working.

Life is pretty good, honestly.

corporatisation of our lives and social media

real income is very noticeably worse than ten years ago
everyone is obsessed with their outward appearance in some way
housing is very expensive due to a cycle of greed and of course immigration
there are no subcultures and inner circles left, we don't spend time with each other anymore, and people crave identity and belonging but do not have it
it's a challenge to get a job due to immigration, devaluation of qualifications, and the removal of human factors from the hiring process
it's extremely hard to start a career, even if you live in the capital, and there is no longer any security in having a career
casual sex and unfaithful relationships are way up, and I don't know whether things like tinder or that sugardaddy matchmaking site are causes or effects of this
multicultural areas are simply oppressive to be in

in general we've grown into very self-conscious, lonely people without any security in our circumstances and little power over our destinies, and in some areas we are surrounded by people who hate us, who were not here ten years ago

no wonder we off ourselves

This it's how the worls has always been descripted.

Shitty.

Twentieth century, bazaar
problematic and feverish!
If you don’t cry, you don’t get fed
and if you don’t steal, you’re a stupid.
Go ahead! Keep it up!
That there, in hell
we’re gonna reunite.
Don’t think anymore,
move out of the way.
Nobody seems to care
if you were born honest.
That is the same the one who works,
day and night like an ox,
than the one who lives from the others,
than the one that kills or heals
or the one who lives outside the law.

>social interactions in real life neutered
>social media makes actual social isolation impossible for many people
>society is more urban than ever
>news constantly proclaims everything as being the worst thing ever for all time
>big pharma shills to doctors and drugs are over-prescribed
Yeah I wonder why

We need church with no Jewish gods

>be a nice user, but a bit out of the norm
>system isn't made for you
>you rather do something you like but few manage to make money out of that thing
>people tell you to have that as a hobby and that you should focus on what will give you "security"
>your everyday studies/work/whatever give you no time to do that thing
>you are opposed to study something you don't believe in and find many flaws within
>you have to finish because you need to pay your ((((loans)))) because you got tricked into a meme and now it's too late to quit
>you have to work for 40+ years in order to be deemed normal and have a normal life
>this upsets you bigly
>you can't possibly take it as you aren't made for this but you need to cause there are few other options, if any
>you either conform or kys
>you resort to chemicals that alter you to do stuff or behave a certain way that is deemed normal
>you start taking them and your study/work/relations become easier
>still an inner unrest inside you because this isn't you
>moment of clarity from the drugs that conform you into what society think is productive and normal
>go insane mixed with the drugs side effects
>pic related

Are we too far gone?
