Should mankind worry about an animal specie reaching full sentience and socialization deep enough to create civilizations of their own?
Some animal species might be in evolutionary stages preceding this
>beavers - have already engineered a way out of their natural urge to hibernate by exploiting and manipulating their environment through building structures to protect themselves and their foods to live while awake during the winter
>various species of apes have developped tools, are starting to create more precise languages with form rather than simple meaning, understand the notion of finite life and has been found mourning dead members of their families
>sea mammals are known to have "cultures" with communication codes varying from group to group, making outsiders harder to understand but insiders more integrated

Worried? About what?

if we reach the point where we'd need to share the planet with another sentient specie building its own civilization, that would interfere with ours and create a new type of territorial dispute.

Underrated post.

SOON! Screencap this!!

We enslaved the monkeys once before I'm sure we could do it again

It really wouldn't.

Crows are on the path to becoming intelligent. Apes are on that path too, but they are in an ecologically precarious situation in Africa, so they won't be a threat.

In 10 million years, there will be a crow paleontologist digging up pieces of buildings and bridges and stuff wondering what the heck went on.

Let's be honest, we would drive them to extinction before they became a threat, we defeated the other hominids with spears, imagine what we could do now.

With our current level of technology the only thing that woudl be able to challenge us is a super advanced alien race. For now and the foreseable future we have total dominion over the earth, and hopefully soon the rest of the solar system.

as long as none of them are able to create not only mere tools but weapons and organize in warbands to annihilate their enemies there is no need to worry.

>Apes are on that path too, but they are in an ecologically precarious situation in Africa
>yfw greater apes suddenly experience an acceleration in their evolution as a response to the existential threat to their species and grow enough to start fighting back
>yfw central Congo becomes the first ape state created by gorillas and urangutangs start sabotaging deforestation and mining operations in Papua and Indonesia

should we be worried about beavers? I think we should be very worried about beavers.
>beavers are now creating some of the largest superstructures known in recordable history, rivaling human beings in crafting aptitude and, arguably, outperforming human beings in terms of cooperative output
>They are the second-largest rodent in the world (after the capybara). Their colonies create one or more dams to provide still, deep water to protect against predators, and to float food and building material. The North American beaver population was once more than 60 million, but as of 1988 was 6–12 million.
>6-12 million beavers
yeah. we should be worried.

There's a theory that we kept chimpanzees from developing language by culling tribes that were hostile toward humans. Think about the modern parallels.

You need to stop reading comic books and watching anime. Please don't tell me you actually believe this will happen.

>chimps and gorillas start war with nogs
Kek

>Should mankind worry about an animal specie reaching full sentience

No.

You need a body to make use of your full sentience before it's useful to you. In fact, a big brain like ours is a total detriment to a living organism that doesn't have the body to make use of it. It's about 2% of our total body mass but consumes 20% of our total energy.

I'd be more worried about an octopus becoming sentient than a whale or beaver.

PLEASE, MAKE THIS COME TRUE

>PLEASE, MAKE THIS COME TRUE
All we'd need for this is someone to teach apes how to build weapons.
Or better yet, how to steal and use firearms.

We have guns and nuclear weapons. They have twigs for ants, and rocks for nuts. Bring it.

worry? about beavers making dams and having their little animal words?

are you out of your god damn mind user?

we have reached absolute supremacy over this world. short of an unknown, depths lurking fish race who suddenly decide to envade the surface using nuclear weapons, there can literally never be another sapient race evolving here while we're here who wouldn't become pets

think about it. suppose suddenly some species of lizard develop sapiency, working hands with opposable thumbs and everything. they are a full 20 000 years behind us. they would become cute pets you can train to do tricks and/or speak with on a basic level. they're not going to suddenly evolve machine guns and philosophy

>worried about super evolved animals
>while his country is being taken over by savages

that's racist, stop describing blacks with words like apes and gorillas and shit. they're people too.

besides, they already have their "first ape state" like you say in central Congo and we all know how that went

Thats what the countless civilizations before ours had in mind. Then got asteroided by the super advanced alien race for leaving the planet.

a gorilla is 8x stronger than a human
a human is a little bit smarter than a gorilla
Gorillas are now completely dependent on humans to survive as a species
Intelligence is everything, OP. And intelligence is hard to develop. A black person is still smarter than a gorilla and we have been trying and failing to make them smarter for hundreds of years using ubelievable resources and effort.
I'm not worried about chimps or beavers even with genetic engineering. We will have a much better chance of making black people smarter with emergent technologies, that's what you should really worry about.

>A black person is still smarter than a gorilla

well depends on what black person and what gorilla

I was speaking in terms of average intelligence

Hopefully they figure out how (((they))) ruined our civilization in order to stop the Jew-crows in time.
