There are no checks and balances to mitigate his fuck ups and nothing that can turn him away from foolish actions like invading Russia while U.K. still hasn't surrendered. Most modern societies are built around liberal lasse-faire governments where the state doesn't directly manipulate private industry.
As any government accumulates power it becomes more "fascist" on its way to becoming full on totalitarian like a communist government.
