My favorite is Warren Buffet, who is supposed to be some frugal wonderboy. His dad was a fucking congressman that ran what became GE. How the fuck do you not do insider trading shit when you are a congressman? I remember they tried to stop that a while back but they couldn't. I think all their self help and inspirational books are good and make some legitimate points but it's kind of disgusting how none of them can sit down and admit that nepotism and inside information were their foundation. It's near impossible for anyone to do even with those things, but people should at least know they had an upper hand.

Bezos is set to be the richest man in the world within 10 years. This isn't a coincidence. Nor is it a coincidence that Facebook is doing so well, either. If it benefits the gov, or the "elite", then they will make it succeed regardless of whether or not it is a good/bad product.
Look at the companies Bezos owns. He is rich because he benefits other members of the elite. Warren Buffet has been cozying up to him recently, as have others.
They are the next in line elite for when the old elite dies.

Under our current model? A metric fuckton. The surveillance state thrives on personal information, and so long as the surveillance state seeks to continue existing, much less expand, it will pay whatever it needs to to get its hands on that data.
Data has no inherent, tangible worth, like oil and steel, but given the right circumstances and reasons for use of that data, well, it becomes immeasurably worth something. A damn scary thing if you ask me.

Blowing through a few million is relatively simple, but blowing billions takes an actual concerted effort to accomplish since the value tends to compound on itself so quickly.
