Why were the Romans never able to conquer Germania?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Germanic_Wars

I mean, it's not like they didn't try. They tried plenty of times and got their asses handed to them whenever they went too far north. The Germans were too strong, too sturdy, too stubborn. They refused to be conquered by race-mixed mongrels.

Could the fact that the Germans were fighting in their natural habitats while Romans belonged in much warmer climates have had something to do with it? Just a thought.

Germanic people were conquered, through culture and religion. They adopted both from Rome and threw their own culture and faith into trash.

What is that if not a victory for Rome? What do you think early Muslims did? Same thing.

They became christian tho

The Germanic people were patriots fighting for their homeland.
The Roman soldiers were mostly foreigners by the time they started getting beaten back from the north.

What else did I say? Yes, they were conquered through faith and culture. They became Christians. But do you think their ancestors would have loved seeing Germanic faith die?

Christianity is not roman so your point of them adopting roman faith is wrong

Christianity as we know today is fundamentally a Roman faith. Christianity as Jewish apostle worldview is something else entirely.

germanic BARBARIANS never beat them in an honest fight. they only ever won through lies and trickery. they DISHONORED themselves every chance they got by running and hiding

Exactly. If anything, Jews conquered the Germanic peoples, since Christianity is a Jewish sect.

Basically the Germans used tricks to win battles whereas that was frowned upon by the Romans who thought battles should be between two armies in the open with the better army coming out on top.

By this same logic you can say that Rome was conquered by the Christians as well. It's great comparison too since Christians were originally seen as an ethnic group by the Romans

why are there still roman ruins in germany today?

>what is the holy Roman Empire for 200, Alex?

"If you ain't cheatin', you ain't tryin'."

Every time Rome tried to take out Germania shit went down elsewhere in the Empire and they decided to deal with that instead

No offense user, but now you are just plainly showing ignorance of history. Rome conquered by the Christians, why the fuck do you think center of worldview Catholic empire is Rome?

Inferior genetics

Yes by christianity, the romans refer to ancient rome

I have nothing against the tactics the Germs used, they were superior. But it wasn't because they were stronger or better fighters. The Romans had the best heavy infantry and in an open battles Germs wouldn't be able to compete.

It was conquered but eventually lost again after Varus got defeated by Arminius in 9 A.D.. The thing about Germania never been reconquered is because military expansion was very costly. Tiberius, the Roman emperor during the campaigns of Germanicus, thought it would be better to let them fight among themselves. That way they would have a bufferzone that wouldn't be strong enough to become a serious threat. In other words: they didn't feel the need to plunge themselves into a very costly campaign if they did not need to.

Christianity is HEAVILY influenced by Mediterranean doctrines, Roman and Greek desu
Basically, the whole Western civilization even in modern age is nothing else than a huge Southern European cuckstamp

They were neither holy, roman, or an empire

Because 90% of Roman efforts were fighting jewish traitors from within.

Rome was considered to be the firsts amongst the churches before Constantine, protty.

Because of the battle of Teutoberg forest.
Germania was on the way to becoming a roman province but it was a massive military defeat that halted any further expansion east of the rhine

shut voltaire go back to /his/

That's like saying Nazism is a Marxist sect.

Is that aragorn? I like his gondor robes

Because it was not worth it at all? it was the most backwards, uncivilized region romans ever encountered. Couple that with incredible natural defenses (river rhin and harsh winter). German tribes had nothing that rome needed or desired.

And to all people saying christianity is jewish and therefore not roman or european. You are a simplistic ignoramous that has no real idea of anything (history and greek philosophy mainly).

sucks to suck

Because according to the Germans you didn't conquer a place until their men offer their anuses.

germania was a giant forest. every piece of territory the romans captured, they had to build infrastructure for. thats an extremely unreasonable thing to do.

its like how the united states completely destroyed the vietcong's army but couldnt 'win' the war because occupying a big empty jungle is an impossible task.

if you arent prepared to kill every single man, woman, and child, then you will never win those kinds of wars.

those are in "germania prima" (the part that rome conquered and decided that was good enough. The other german tribes were called "germania secunda"(pass the river rhin).

>if you arent prepared to kill every single man, woman, and child
implying you werent

The cucked mods on /his/ would delete this thread for racism.

Roman armies marched all through germania.

But they found nothing of value. Only forests, dampness, coldness, and death.

There was nothing there the romans needed.

>Gallia got assraped so hard they started speaking Roman
>Germania was never conquered and instead sacked Rome from every cardinal direction in revenge

Are celts the ultimate cucks? Once populating most of western Europe, now the French celtcucks are speaking Roman and the British celtcucks are speaking German.

>There was nothing there the romans needed.
They wanted the Germanic women. Nobody can deny that.

They kind of tried but then they realised it wasn't reallly worth it for them.

Is like Julius Ceaser said once
"These animals learned something"

because romans were well-organized manlets who fed on grains, while germanic tribesmen were hulking monsters who ate wild game.

Source?

The Germans used a thing called "Strategy" and "Tactics." The Romans didn't understand that so they just stood still in a field.

There you go, history in two sentences.

>The Germans used a thing called "Strategy" and "Tactics."
>B-but that's cheating!

you IGNOBLE SAVAGES swore a false oath under heaven and did betray yourselves to the GODS.

Why doesn't USA conquer Zimbabwe?

Why are post WW2 Americans so weak? We used to butcher entire populations wholesale. I miss the old days, when the only good Indian was a dead Indian.

This is what the empire is missing: the will to annihilate threats.

America's demographics do not have to change. We simply require the will to wipe out the groups that threaten our survival.

This is how the City on the Hill falls: not by conquest, but by surrender.

The Romans tried to conquer Germania. USA has never tried to conquer Zimbabwe.

You're a god damn retard, Luigi. And by the way, the Germans got the last laugh by invading and destroying your corrupt, disgusting Empire. How does that make you feel?

the Romans conquered a large part of Germania, and kicked the shit out of Germans as far as the north under Germanicus until the latter was called back for a triumph

maybe, just maybe, germans were so piss poor and worthless that even as slaves they weren't worth the deal?

the germans in the late Empire were let in by Rome itself since they were running away from Huns like sissies
