>I want to drive my own car.
I'm sorry but you'll have to find another way to go snackbar.

Fuck you I want to spin the wheelie thingy

Fuck off. I want to get drunk af and have my car take me home.

Without having to deal with human drives traffic problems will disappear

so you can run over frogs?

not giving driving license to everyone can fix it too.

I think all new cars will be self driving, but the old laws will still apply for classic cars. I predict insurance will shoot up for driving your own car. Gas will also be more expensive because they're going to be electric. There might be new laws involving accidents with self driving cars, and what lanes are for self driving cars on the interstate.

FO

I'll drive my own goddamn car. Until I get drunk AF then I switch on google auto pilot and have it bludgeon me with gender non-nouns untill I jump out the moving vehicle but I can't cause it's windows and doors are auto controlled...

thanks I'll stick to my pre 2000 jeep wrangler for a vehicle. Like to see a Tesla follow me 50 miles out in the mountains... i'll take a gas mask and a jeep over a tesla and it's positive pressure button.

Not really
AI will know what other AI cars are doing
This will make traffic move much more efficient

problem is you wont have "manual" option since it "distrupts" the traffic flow

It's ok pal, your country won't have those cars for a half century

thats good news

But out will we accidental death you when you step out of line ?

I still feel like this will be considered illegal drunk driving, since a licensed human operator will still be required in the drivers seat.

>since a licensed human operator will still be required in the drivers seat.
It wont be

Love how people are bitching about this.

Ya'll are really going to hate the mandatory nanobot injections.

wait till you get older, driving a car as a hobby will be fun, but getting to shitpost on Sup Forums while your car drives all the way on an 8 hour trip would be amazing, even a mcdonalds run would be better

>(((self driving cars)))
realistically how long until the tech and law is developed and shit? I don't want any more automotive features than power windows/steering. Not looking forward to having to buy newer model cars either

I never even thought about this.

15 years is too far away

>need open source AI communication system
>easily hackable
No thanks.

This is your future roach

~20-30 years non self driving cars will not be allowed on public roads

Can you imagine how much money the police and the lawyers would lose if drunk driving became legal? It will never, ever happen.

too bad, you're an insurance risk.

>>easily hackable
how do you know this?

everything is hackable

When cars are no longer able to be human operated I dont see how they can still justify the laws

That's absurd. All the current models are designed around everyone else being a free driver. This weird future only exists in people's fevered minds, and a future about 40-50 years ahead of now.

Once I can pay a fee and get relicensed for "manual" driving at the expense of all the auto-drivers I will. Manual drivers will be the reg for 50 years.

everything is not easily hackable
there is no way the cars will not be communicating with each other

>set up false premise
>get angry and indignant about it

you know, its not like you're insane and are just desperate for even more attention

> absolutelydisgusting.jpg

Why do you think we still have pilots el retardo? Software always fails. Enjoy killing your family due to the latest carOS updates.

>Fuck off, I want to ride my own horse down any street.

OP, circa 1920

>how do you know this?
because it would have to be open source.

Can't have self-driving motorcycles.

Checkmate, cagers.

lol pilots use a thing called auto pilot, "pilots" are only a failsafe for auto pilot.

nice anology cunt

Why would It have to be open source?

>cagers

Squid.

While I understand this I still wannna hear what the car will do in an emergecy which will happen sooner or later. Like what if the guy in front of you loaded his shit boxes wrong and they fall off and your car has no way to stop. Does it swerve into a motorcycle, wall, or just plow into it and let you die. And no car company has said what the car would do. IMO the car should NEVER put the life of the driver in jeopardy and should always take the route that has the highest chance of life for the driver anything else is BS and I aint drivin no car that would ever take a deadly choice for me.

>not driving your pure bread kentucky saddler down to the super market
Why live?

I don't think I trust a bunch of autistic nerds and amoral pajeets to program the necessary morality and ethics into any self-driving AI. I've seen how people on this board handle the trolley problem.

>welcome to your faggy car _____
>please fasten seatbelt *does automatically*
>it appears mr. ___ you said some intolorant things last night about trannys
>escorting to nearest tolorance camp

Because if it wasn't homemade cars couldn't talk to others and new companies couldn't get into the market.

Nobody is going to give the cars morality and ethics

>tfw musk is behind all these terrorist attacks using trucks/cars to push self driving cars on the world

Says the guy with a 257 mile commute daily...

Of course they will. They will have to make split-second decisions about whose life to save and whose life to take in the event of an emergency.

There are already a ton of articles about it:

>slate.com/articles/technology/future_tense/2016/06/self_driving_cars_crash_optimization_algorithms_offer_an_ethical_quandary.html
>technologyreview.com/s/542626/why-self-driving-cars-must-be-programmed-to-kill/

I don't trust it. Hackers in shieet. My computer fucks up for no reason sometimes, I don't trust one to drive me somewhere.

Roach wtf are you on about?

we need to ban suicide cars

...

You won't be able to insure your old vehicle, they don't want you driving. They won't let you own a private vehicle if you're not ultra-wealthy. You'll call a Google Car, it will take you and a few other nearby fucks to your destinations, and your travel request will be logged. While you enjoy the ride, you can plug into some VR and watch a movie about a time when things weren't so faggoty and being alive actually meant something.

Like it matters manual drive mode will be there for decades maybe forever if for no other reason then for cars that need to go off road or into weird places.

The AI of the car and general instructions it receives are two diffrent things

>“The main thing to keep in mind is that we have yet to encounter one of these problems,” he said. “In all of our journeys, we have never been in a situation where you have to pick between the baby stroller or the grandmother. Even if we did see a scenario like that, usually that would mean you made a mistake a couple of seconds earlier. And so as a moral software engineer coming into work in the office, if I want to save lives, my goal is to prevent us from getting in that situation, because that implies that we screwed up.

>“It takes some of the intellectual intrigue out of the problem, but the answer is almost always ‘slam on the brakes’,” he added. “You’re much more confident about things directly in front of you, just because of how the system works, but also your control is much more precise by slamming on the brakes than trying to swerve into anything. So it would need to be a pretty extreme situation before that becomes anything other than the correct answer.”

>nobody likes their ABS or traction control
>let the motor differentiate between things
>with cameras
K

These cars won't even have steering wheels, user. Most people won't be able to drive on a public road.

I drive further going to work than most eurotrash countries are wide

Manual transmission

Fuck off eurofags

were talking about the system of communications between it and other cars. like wifi or blue-tooth or something new. either way it would have to be easily accessible for anyone to access, which would create holes that hackers would exploit.

Isnt that doging the question? Like what if something falls onto the road from an upper building? Or a tree falls onto the highway? Both things that happen. The car either needs to swereve or slam into it. Like what if there is an open field any human would swerve into that but from what im reading the AI will just break. Im not saying 99% the self driving wont be safer but extreames will happen and im curious what they will do.

Youll still be able to drive your car retard, just that youll have the option for a better cruise control if you want it.

Maybe i want to not manually drive through bumper to bumper traffic?

I need to go off road regularly in my truck and lots of other people need to aswell there will be manual mode for a very long time.

Get a car with a carburettor. Problem solved.

>holes that hackers would exploit.
Ok?
What could they do?

Kek

>Youll still be able to drive your car retard

nope you wont you clueless shit. only maybe in first 1-2 years, but afterwards it will get banned because manual driving "disrupts" the traffic flow and cause accidents. and good goyim like you will agree with it since people worship tech right now

honestly how can people get excited about "self driving cars" i can't even get it. they are even afraid of self driving planes(that's why pilots still exist), but no self driving cars are so kewl xddd le tesla le high tech xdd

FUCK YOU ALL I WANT TO DRIVE MY CAR

>ike you will agree with it since people worship tech right now
no its because I live in Southern California

Trips of truth. I'm going to get absolutely slaughtered, knock some niggerjew out and be back in time for me good mate John Oliver

>In the future it will be more difficult to crash into pedestrians
>Muslims are against this
Really makes you think

>self driving cars
>can eliminate systemic threats to any authority by an (((accident)))

How the fuck does anyone think that gridlock is caused by bad driving? It can be yes but it's also caused by the desire for literally everyone to literally do everything at literally the exact same time.

unironically it will be easier for them to play real life carmageddon from their homes

also self driving car "rampages" would be a useful tool for false flagging too

cant wait to see media calling manual drivers as terrorists

Its not just the bad driving
Its that drivers cannot effectively communicate and coordinate with each other

Texas would go to war over this. Not even kidding.

No kidding, if they government tries to come to get my car. I'll fucking run them over. I am going to make my own fucking second amendment.

>mexico has cars
I think you mean Donkey Pablo

Send maleware and viruses to your cars computer? who the fuck knows?

Shit, I almost forgot. Maybe someone should tell Fernando Alonso to take it down a notch riding that world champion F1 mule.

How are they going to do that with JSON object?

You'll all give up your self drive cars and licences, because I want to get in my car pissed and get home safe without being hassled by cops. I'll fight you all!

Do you not drive? What are you not understanding? If you have a doorway and 10 people are told to go through it at the exact same time then you will have a line aka gridlock aka traffic. Magic cars aren't going to even affect that let alone solve it.

Not on public roads, zero human drivers on public roads is the goal.

It'll be phased out slowly, eventually insurance will be unaffordable.

You got defeated by Emus, I am not really scared.

>*sad music starts*
>dark background
>jane epstein, 71
>an old lady, white hair, red eyeglasses, sitting on her old chair
>looks sad
>camera zooms to her tears
>"he was a good boy, he wanted to be a doctor"
>pets her cat
>some old pics, with smiling people
>"i missed him a lot"
>camera focuses on cat
>"linda is the only thing that's left from him"
>"she misses him too"
>zoom to hear eyes
>scene ends
>say no to manual driving, we can save thousands of people, please sign our petition at www.letssavethepeople.com

I'm still not sure people will buy it. They won't be comfortable giving machines control until they're 100% certain they can't be hacked, and all evidence right now points to that never being true since everything can be hacked.

Its the effect that one person putting on the brakes has on traffic because they need to react to it

Well, if you think you can take on the emus, be my guest.

No desu, those things look dangerous as fuck.

Ok let's keep trying this. Are you not familiar with the term and concept of bottlenecking? Lets say if you have a have a watercooler full of beans and you turn it upside down, all the beans don't come out at once.

I didnt say roads have unlimited capacity
self driving cars use them more efficiently

They'll have to, it'll be incredibly cheap compared to car ownership, which is going to gradually become unaffordable. When it's just a few richfags left driving on roads, nobody will care when it gets banned altogether.

We helped this happen by shitposting on Sup Forums.

You're just being stubborn. Imagine that every car heading towards your bottleneck door have already decided the order in which they're going to enter based on a variety of factors, but mostly minimal braking while still maintaining safety and then they all approach and enter the door on queue and in order.

I hope this clears it up for you, your beans aren't smart, they just follow gravity and clog the bottleneck up.

Then go to a private track and stop putting other people's lives at risk for your own selfish, petty enjoyment.

Yes you did

>traffic problems will disappear

Super magic cars will literally not even affect bottlenecking let alone solve it.

What part of self-driving do you not understand? Humans operating cars will be illegal in a few decades.

yes because since we built roads for human drivers we will have more than enough capacity when we switch to self driving cars

>Turn on news
>Another self driving car drove off a bridge into a lake, occupant assumed dead.
>Just (((software bugs))) goys!
