If Germany attacks Poland with an EU army or with themselves they would be violating a few clauses in the NATO treaty. The US would definitely save their close to Russia outpost, because not doing so would fuck up NATO and make them lose face. Not to mention trump hates the EU so any nations dumb enough to send troops to Poland could be fucked over and kicked out of NATO. Thus the anglosphere and a few others would have to invade all of Europe. Portugal would remain on the side of NATO via their old alliance with the Brits.
