We're an inclusive society these days. Disabled planes need to take off too.

>When you call your amphibious assault ships an aircraft carrier
She can carry a maximum of 10 Harrier II's what the fuck are you going to do with those out of date pieces of shit.

less payload and fuel.

what does it mean? youtu.be/Cjk5vDywO8M

I mean the Juan Carlos is just an assault ship, but he's not wrong.
If you can't afford to make use of catapults then a ramp is the best thing to install.
Catapults are miles and miles better than ramps
Ramps are miles and miles and miles better than just flattop (without cats)

Still more Harriers than ours can carry.

Why would we want to use Harriers, they've been out classed for over a decade.
also Queen Elizabeth goes for sea tials in a few weeks, and next year she sails to America to start F-35B flight trials.
>SOON

Also Aircraft carriers and Battlegroups get me hard so I'm dumping Navy pics.

What about treadmills?

*blocks your island*

Notice that this Carrier battlegroup has a fucking Battleship with it.
Mad bastards, I believe this was sailing to Iraq for the first gulf war.

*docks in Gibraltar

Fuck off Pedro

>aircraft carrier

It's a fucking flat boat with a ramp on it...

USS America
When the Burgers try and build an aircraft carrier like the rest of the world
>Over 40,000 tonnes
>Focuses on Flight deck operations rather than marines
>Conventionally powered
>No well deck
But they don't install ramps because they think it looks ugly as fuck, so the entire ship is flawed and can't do either Marine operations or aviation strike very well.
Now the rest of the class has been redesigned to be a traditional Assault ship with a well deck.

Despite this she will embark a full complement of F-35Bs and be used as a strike carrier group in the pacific this year.

I support the funding to get the HMS Victory sea-worthy again.

*Never gibs it back

A

Haha

We're taking Spain back

The problem is that youd have to replace almost all of the parts with new stuff, like the Americans did with their old ship, at that point you cant really say its the same old boat anymore

>Queen Lizzy is THICC and has a sexy phat arse.

But how are we going to fight them without it?

>english education.
Are you forgetting the Falklands you dumb bong?

this post is extremely underrated.

*docks entire continent*

We had 3 though, and they could carry more than 10

>tfw the Brits don't have a supercarrier called the HMS King George III to sail alongside the USS George Washington

US budget is 10 times that of UK but the navy isn't 10 times the size

Would dock nose first in there

It would have been better if only Americans had ramps

US Constitution vs. HMS Victory

Fite me IRL

This, HMS Victory is not the same shit already though, she has gone through many refits in her long service history, she was heavily damaged in the Battle of Ushant in 1778 as part of the French operations to keep the royal navy from supplying the British in America and she had to be repaired.

She survived six broadsides from the French without a single shot returned as Admiral Kepple was saving his salvo for the french Flagship before returning fire on another 6 ships.
It must have been glorious, what a monster.

The PLAN Phi Phi Shrimp Eternal.

We should totally have wargames for our legacy ships. That would be fucking awesome.

>building a navy vessel and name it after a mad king that if he were around today would of instantly launched the nukes at himself if he saw a fly land on his dinner

no thanks pal let old mad kings die
But lets make a HMS Palmerston

Now the only thing that remains is to get the HMS Victory seaworthy again. I'll see you on the deck!

Put a few CIWS on it and it will be fine

You do realise that the falklands war is almost 35 years ago right
Just to get your head round that number, when the falklands war happened 35 years before it was 1947, world war 2.

Imagine using ww2 planes in falklands and youll realise how silly you're being.

where the zumwalt

...

Constitution is in dry dock for repairs right now too. Think it'll be done sometime next year. I suppose we should do this thing in the Caribbean for old times sake? We can bring the rum, you bring the limes, and it'll be a grand party afterwards.

cant block to well when it doesn't have planes

you can see the fucking rivets holding the deckplates on

"HMS Luton" why does pakiland get a ship named after it?

>1947
>world war 2

I've got you!
Truth be told if Victory and Constitution ever had a fight neither side would win.

Constitution could never hope to either dent or defeat Victory BUT Victory could never hope to catch Constitution.
They two very different ships for very different purposes, it would be like putting an IOWA up against a fast destroyer (without torpedoes)

I'm not being bias but they're literally the ugliest pieces of shit i have ever seen

Its only a cheep type-31 class frigate

you can see the Paki writing on it here

youtube.com/watch?v=1nQ715coKbI

jelly as fuck

Bet you could do some sweet jumps off that thing

two years after they were still using planes that modern aircraft in 1982 would annihilate with great ease.

The only reason Harriers are used today is because bombing shitskin countries who can barely fight back is fine, you could use a Sopwith camel and do just fine.

NO, TELL ME THAT ISNT ON ONE OF OuR SHIPS????

youtube.com/watch?v=-X2kJSXl4YM

Why not a catapult in a ramp

Except that having carriers is passe.

THIS THREAD IS MAGNIFICENT

FALSE NEWS
There is no type 31 frigates in existence yet, that ship is a Royal Oman navy ship, we did build it though.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khareef-class_corvette

When will the new Ford carrier be incorporated?

Because it's 10 times better instead.

The "Principe Felipe" is being sold as scrap. 2,7M € of fucking scrap.

libertaddigital.com/espana/2017-05-09/el-portaaviones-principe-de-asturias-vendido-como-chatarra-por-27-millones-1276598609/

That's like a starship troopers propoganda video, awesome.

I am of course jealous of the US Navy equipment, given my love and family history in the Royal Navy.
Not so jealous of your sailors though, mainly mexicans and africans

Britain is builsing two mega carriers even tho they don't need them nor have the money to operate them.
Talk about delusions of past grandeur...

Jordanian Navy

Was built in the UK tho

Ford is on sea trials at the moment, just went out last month.
Will take another couple of years to be deployment ready.
Like the Queen Elizabeth class, Ford is a prototype so there will be still lots of work and bugs to work out, especially in her catapults

sorry, not Jordan

it`s Oman.

lol we sold it to Oman, but the type -31 will be based of the same design. just a bit bigger.

fortunately they will have no Paki language

Why do we even need a ramp? We only have Harriers for that thing

It is fine, and better in some ways. Simple. Less moving parts and less failure points.

Honestly, I feel like big-gun battleships may still have some usefulness as an artillery bombardment platform. Just plant the thing a few miles off shore and let loose.

I'm sure keeping a battleship running is horribly expensive though. I just hate to see something so beautiful slip away into history.

Bring some of those rust buckets over so we can put a Exocet into them hulls

I was just about to leave the country if one of our ships had Paki writing on them

Broken down in Panama, again.

*powertops your anus*

>bugs to work out, especially in her catapults
>not using throw away rockets strapped to the top of the plane
sad!

Yes!
Bring back the A R M A D A!

using a ramp saves fuel compared to taking off vertically

And Spain has?

DELET THIS

A FUCKING HALF RAMP.

What happened, dad? Why can't you afford a full ramp anymore?

>4 ships

youtube.com/watch?v=_fg5amio4jU&t=341s

It's absolutely not delusions of Grandeur
The Royal Navy was nailed into a coffin in 1966 (Ironically) by the defence white paper of the Labour party which removed our future carriers and their air defence escorts.
What we see today is the start of repairing damage to a mistake of over 50 years in the making.

Maybe if our pussy governments and the rest of the morons in the EU hadn't abandoned all their militaries America wouldn't have had to spend so much looking after the eastern european countries and the Middle east.

FPBP

...

what a shit show canada, how do you exspect to import more african firefighters with only 4 ships?

At least we're getting a good deal from Brazil for HMS Ocean

>No Sparviero class hydrofoils

Sad,Cletus,sad

That is pretty fucking awesome! We're buying 140 F-45's how can we get a cool picture of our air fleet like that

>helicopter carrier
>ramp

>Theyre selling HMS ocean

STOP BULLYING ME

Not only that
>Ya en 2007 se invirtieron 3,6 millones de euros para su reparación y modernización.

JUST

>Anglo navy
Jealous subhuman niggers
You destroyed the continent because you could not handle that we had a better one

yes but our one sub is currently parked off the coast of DC with all its nukes pointed right at capital hill, the white house and the pentagon.

*TOPPED*

>Burger reading comprehension

She is so big it only looks like half a ramp, using your system of measurement Queen Elizabeth is around 80,000 tonnes
We've always left room to the side though, it gives you access to under the ramp for storage or another place to put a helicopter/plane

Because that worked so magnificently last time

Yeah when the two Elizabeth class come into service, there will be no need for her

Fucking stupid bongs think they stand a chance at the remnants of the mighty Spanish Armada.
PIC RELATED WILL DESTROY BRITANIA AND HISPANIA WILL RULE THE WORLD ONCE AGAIN.
