Jumping to the conclusion that there's an objective set of grammar comes from DNA is ridiculous.

100% agreed. Human language is based upon communicating causal links which we have formed in our brains to predict causality in the world. Language is simply an adapted set of rules for communicating that information, and nowadays even chat-bots based on neural networks can learn some of the idiosyncracies of human language. It seems to me that going from no language to some language to human language could quite conceivably be done simply by having a more extensive neural network with better control over recurrent-pathways to keep track of the semantic rule structure that you communicate with, and in fact in a couple of years I bet we will see very impressive machine learning results in this area building on top of Long Short-term Memory and Word-2-Vector, etc.
