Why are liberals so obsessed with Harry Potter? I never really liked the books or movies so i ignored them, but everyone i knew who liked it are extreme SJW Regressives. Is there left wing political undertones in the story? They actually think its a legitimate political reference in debates and i don't get it personally.

There are vaguely left wing political undertones, because the baddie is a wizard who wants to keep the wizard world pure with only wizard blood, whereas the goodies want to let people who are wizards but don't have wizard blood in.
In reality it's mainly centrist liberals who are obsessed with it because it allows an easy escape rather than addressing political issues. JK Rowling and a lot of her supporters have recently started a backlash against Corbyn and leftism.
It was written by a third rate hack. It's a badly written fantasy that is basically a allegory for National Socialism vs Love. It contrasts the two as opposites and portrays one as an ultimate good and one as an ultimate evil. It's pants-on-head retarded desu, but people nowadays don't read any actual literature so the pile of shit called harry potter is percieved by them as first rate literature with mature and deep undertones.
