In the overarching sense of policy Hitler was sound. Invading Russia wasn't a bad idea. But he meddled too much with his officers plans and fucked everything up.
He was addicted to the idea of the massive, history making encirclement. Anybody who has studied Barbarossa knows that there was a three pronged attack...Leningrad, Moscow, and Kiev in the south. In the summer Hitler halted his middle attack on Moscow and sent the panzer divisions south in order to take Kiev. It resulted in one of the largest capitulations in history (600,000 Russian POWs or something like that), but halted the progress of the march to Moscow. By the time the panzers booted up again for Moscow the fall rains had already started and you probably know the rest.
In my opinion, if Hitler hadn't intervened and delayed the attack on Moscow by a few months then the Germans would've won the war. Sure, there was talk that the Russians would abandon Moscow, move much of their industry East, and continue fighting from Siberia or whatever....but the combination of the morale killer of capturing the capital, plus giving the industrious Germans a winter to build a line of fortifications along the Urals would've been crucial. Even an armistice between a pathetic scattered USSR in the Siberian wilderness and the Germans in possession of lebensraum up to the Urals and down to the Caucasus Mountains (with their oilfields) would've been sufficient.

The Nazis developed this technology and even had test flights in 1941. With jet airplanes they would have ABSOLUTE air supremacy and D Day would've never happened.

He saw the design and said he liked it....but he wanted it to be a bomber rather than a fighter. So the design went from production back to the design phase. Then, as the jet bombers were being ready Hitler intervened again and said 'you know what? I want them to go back to being fighters again'.
This intervention and flip flopping delayed the ME 262 so much so that they never debuted until 1944. Reports from the field were that they absolutely routed the competition....but it was too little too late
This intervention, and the previously mentioned delay in Operation Barbarossa were two death blows to the German war effort
