Local level LVT is a bad idea. It means recirculating money where land values are highest and maintaining low infrastructure spending where values are lowest. London already gets more infrastructure spend per head than almost any other region.

Local LVT does away with the ability for LVT to rebalance the economy between places with cheap land/low capital and places with expensive land/high capital.

Councils with fuck all land value (in large part due to human capital flight to London) will find themselves in a death spiral where they fail to raise sufficient funds to properly fund infrastructure, and thereby become less attractive places for businesses/workers, and places with high values (like London) will raise lots of funds to support and improve infrastructure and will become even more valuable.

Such a system makes an absolute postcode lottery of how much landwealth you'd be entitled to. Live in London or Brighton? Great, your local council will be fabulously well funded. Live in Knowsley or Newport? Bad luck there friend.

The whole point of landwealth redistribution is that the land was all here before any of us were born, so we all have an equal right to it, yet we can't all use the same piece of land at once so instead we share the value of the land rather than the land itself.

Limiting right to landwealth based on council level is a great way to ingrain the current regional inequality in the UK

Good times

Votes at 16 and mandatory voting, yay or nay?

Friendly reminder that you ought not to get mad at each other because you disagree politically! You're all trying to find the truth that's most moral, and getting in a heated and angry fight with a fellow user does nothing more than hurt you both emotionally and make the search for truth more foggy!
Have a good evening, anons! People care about you!

As a liverslip fan I want arsenal to lose

Nope

Mature is like 30+.

Also freshers for everyone who turns up for the 1st week.

>tfw only 4 fucking candidates in my entire constituency
There's no way in hell I'm voting for the red commies, the green commies, the yellow Europhiles or the (((Conservatives))).

ELECTION POLL

VOTE

No.

I used to see post-docs in their 30s on the ``Freshers'' events. I went on them in my final year at 23.

I don't think they're even supposed to be exclusive.

I'm pretty sure the prediction there is they lose Richmond park (no by-election meme effect), Norfolk North (brexit area and no UKIP this time) and Southport (brexit area) and gain on seat in Scotland?

Nay, voting at 21

no to both

>mandatory voting
>make it a requirement that people who dont want to vote waste their time and everyone elses time

>votes at 16

lol no

>mandatory voting

don't see how you could enforce it

I saw an ad for a bronze cannon, think we can mount it in the back of a transit van?

We could mount it facing astern for some shoot and scoot tactics.

>Quite clearly has perky nice tits
>'Her tits look saggy'

What did he mean by this?

I guess that means you're drawing cocks and/or swastikas all over the ballot then
Colin is a national treasure

>UKIP is even failing in a britpol election

Don't the aussies do this?

I think they fine people for not voting.

No.

16 year olds don't understand politics at all.

I'd raise the lower limit to 25, if anything.

>Based Hani

>voting

Is it any surprise

They're caused by a misunderstanding of the consequences of a change in the system of incentive and constraints and a belief in the idea that prosperity comes from morality and good intentions, coupled with the idea that people who disagree with you are not just wrong, but immoral. It will always sound good to a certain demographic of people. Fascism will always, if you believe it, be a harsh truth. Socialism is a lovely falsehood.

Fine people who don't vote.

Start buying guns.

Some places have literally 3 candidates. Snap election fucked over smaller parties and Greens/UKIP decided to pull out of a load of seats.
>mfw lib dems don't run to support greens
>in fucking Skipton and Ripon

What do you expect of an extremely CIVIC pro-mass-migration party?

They have a good chance at getting something from Aberdeen or Edinburgh I have heard based on how they did in those council elections - source: My Indian corner shop owner

>Votes at 16
They could not even bother to vote in the EU ref so they will not vote in any other election
>Mandatory voting
I did used to think it was a good idea but many are not bothered so it would be wasting our time and theres but it could lead to some intresting results maybe.

polls from yesterday

Two new voting intention polls today. The first by Survation for Good Morning Britain had topline figures of CON 48%(+1), LAB 30%(nc), LDEM 8%(+1), UKIP 4%(nc). Clearly there is no substantial change since their poll a week ago. Fieldwork was conducted on Friday and Saturday, after the leak of the Labour manifesto, and doesn’t show any sign of any impact.

The second was the weekly ICM poll for the Guardian. Topline figures there are CON 48%(-1), LAB 28%(+1), LDEM 10%(+1), UKIP 6%(nc). As many have noted, ICM are now are, along with TNS, one of only two pollsters still showing Labour support below thirty points (MORI last poll did the same, but that was several weeks ago when everyone showed Labour that low). It’s not that ICM haven’t shown Labour support rising a little. ICM have been showing Labour recovering slightly, it’s just they’ve been doing so at a slightly lower figures: at the start of the campaign ICM had Labour at 25-26% and they now have them at 27%-28%.

ICM and ComRes have adopted new approaches. Rather than basing their turnout model on people’s self-reported likelihood to vote, they base it on their demographics – estimating respondent’s likelihood to vote based on their age and social grade – the assumption being that younger people and working class people will remain less likely than older, more middle class people to vote. This tends to have the effect of making the results substantially more Conservative, less Labour, meaning that ICM and ComRes tend to produce some of the biggest Tory leads.

>The Tories aren't as cucked as Labour

WEWEWWWWW

why you replying to me lol

I started at 25. In fairness, I didn't really want to go drinking with a bunch of 18 year olds, but I don't think it would have been a big deal if I had

you're counted as a mature student when you're like 23+, atleast at Loughborough I was. I got double gibs from them because of it, easy shit

>ask workmate how much Labour has quoted for nationalising railways
>"well, when the franchise runs out the government acquires it"
>what?
>"the franchise runs out and then the government steps in and takes it over for free"
>never mind, what about the cost of rolling stock?
>"they'll be free after the franchise"

What is this free meme lads and where do I sign up for free shit?

>TFW the Tories will loose to the progressive alliance.

I bet she prefers BBC

You'll find less cucked academics will prefer you as you aren't some 18 year old idealist with no idea about the real world

what is the average age of a fresher student?

i'm gonna fucking cuck corbyn and grab the railways for free before him

>lib dem fat girl looks like she loves harry potter and own hufflepuff merch

Also her parents are old. Too old. Probably why she's deformed.

Probably 19-20 when you count foreign students who normally need to learn english first

At this point it looks like the Tories could beat a progressive alliance without UKIP's help

Post your 2017 GE MADLADS

Vast majority of English students are 18 or 19.

>'FFS'
>implying any of those accusations are negative attributes

This is correct when i was 16 i thought voting for the snp was a good choice (basically leaf material) . I'd say the age should be 21.

Is the Open University good for NEET scum or is it a meme?

To be fair, he's kind of right.

The Railway is still owned by the government and franchised out to companies who maintain it and run the trains etc.

Every 10 years companies can bid to take it over, so instead of doing that the government would just let it lapse back into their control.

You have to think, many companies that own the railways are owned by European counties that make a decent profit but refuse to put any money into infrastructure. So really it makes sense for us to own them and if they don't get better at least the profits will be ours.

By the way, I don't support Labour in anyway anymore, but some things are better nationalised. Railways, Mail and Water would be better in public hands.

Probably 19 because so many take gap years.

Why are you spending so much on a meme gun? Buy something modern and better for less money you sad cunt.

What about the other polls that had Labour at 33? They just keep gaining and with the manifesto launch they look like they may catch up.

Hold me user... I don't want abott as MI5 leader..
