All providers must post, in their offices and on a public web site without any requirement to sign in or otherwise identify oneself to access it, a full and complete price list which shall apply to every person.

All customers must be billed for actual charges at the same price on a direct basis at the time the service or product is rendered to them.

legalize weed and mushrooms

ez.

...

Pay fore healthcare and you wont die. Why is this so hard to understand?

For a bill to be valid and collectible it must be affirmatively consented to in writing, with a disclosure of the actual price to be charged from the above schedule for each item to be provided whether good or service, prior to the service being performed or the good furnished

No event caused by or a consequence of treatment can be billed to the customer.

...

All true emergency patients, defined as those who are unable by medical circumstance to choose where their treatment is to take place and require immediate medical intervention to either stabilize their condition, prevent severe permanent impairment or death (e.g. transported by an ambulance, unconscious with no person with medical power of attorney at-hand, having a heart attack in the ER, etc) must receive the same price for the same service as a person who consents to said service

All medical records are the property of, and shall be delivered to, the customer at the time of service in human readable form (a PDF provided on common consumer computer media such as a "flash stick" shall comply with this requirement.) Any coding or other symbols on said chart must include a key to same in English delivered at the same time. No separate charge may be made for the provision of a contemporary record of a medical visit or treatment other than a reasonable charge for physical media if the customer does not have same with him or her.

All surgical providers of any sort must publish de-identified procedure counts and account for all complications and outcomes, updated no less often than monthly.

All anti-trust and consumer protection laws shall be enforced against all medically-related firms and any claimed exemptions for health-related firms in relationship to same are hereby deemed void; for private actions all such violations proved up in court are entitled to treble damages plus a $50,000 statutory civil penalty per impacted person.

Any test or diagnostic that carries no exposure to drugs or radiation, nor is invasive beyond a blood draw, may be purchased without doctor order or prescription.

Wholesale drug pricing in the United States must be on a "most-favored nation" basis.

>For a bill to be valid and collectible it must be affirmatively consented to in writing
There are many bills that are valid but not agreed to in writing. For example the tax bill, insurance amounts not covered, per mileage and other contracted/non-contracted amounts but unknown totals, fines, penalties, complications from surgery or for example seeing two lung lobes filled with cancer instead of the one you told the patient you were going to remove. Et al.

Better question(s):
Should there be a way to prevent monopolizing medications?
If yes, how?

No government funded program or government billed invoice will be paid for medical treatment where a lifestyle change will provide a substantially equivalent or superior benefit that the customer refuses to implement.

= Fuck off boogey, no gib me dats for you!

Medicare becomes just another insurance provider and Medicaid is 100% stopped

The author loves good discussion on his comment section and never bans anyone.

Fix the culture and it will fix itself.

The US demands flat global pricing or else the drug companies are charged with anti-trust activity. Trump and Sessions can start charging companies tomorrow under existing laws, USC 15, no congress or Supreme Court required

i've got it:

>legalize marijuana
>ditch all these minimum insurance requirements
>refocus federal investment directly into healthcare, science and education (STEM fields specifically)
>quit dumping billions into foreign nations and start pumping it into healthcare
>quit wasting billions on foreign military operations and starting pumping it into healthcare

so basically just redirect funds so you can keep throwing money at the problem until it goes away, thus driving down medical bills and hope that legal weed does enough to drive down any big pharma price gouging.

with regards to improving the actual QUALITY of healthcare, we'll hope that the extra money given towards healthcare, science and education that something will magically happen that causes a big leap forward for humanity.

tl;dr - my half assed idea is to legalize weed, reduce insurance requirements and throw money at relevant fields DOMESTICALLY in the hopes that american capitalism will kick in and create some magic.

why bring the swiss into this?

Auto mechanics and other repair industries are required by law to provide a quote. The realm of possibilities can be covered by a best case, most likely and worst case. Also if the price is fixed then the hospital has an incentive to not tack on unnecessary treatment.

Easy. Just take insurance out of the equation (for day-to-day expenses) and make everything cheaper.

>end the FDA and allow anybody to make and sell medicine on an open market
>end patents so pharma companies cant charge millions for medicine that is cheap to make
>end licensing restrictions so the supply of doctors can increase, meaning more access and cheaper options
>end insurance mandate and employer-paid healthcare, incentivizing people to actually care about prices
>end any other anti-competitive over-regulation that was not mentioned

Once you free the market and just let people provide goods for others, it will all be more accessible. It's that simple, just stop screwing so much with it and causing more problems.
