Simulation theory: reality is a simulation created by an extra-dimensional consciousness

simulation theory: reality is a simulation created by an extra-dimensional consciousness
>wow that's so cool, totally plausible
flat-earth theory: reality is a simulation created by an extra-dimensional consciousness
>REEEEEEEEEE that's ridiculous, impossible!

Explain yourselves.

Simulation theory is bullshit cover for disclosing the real history of the planet you dumb Fucking surf

Hhh

...

Can you explain why the simulation argument is not convincing?

...

Simulation argument:
Three possibilities exist:
>1) all intelligent life in the universe destroys itself or is destroyed before achieving technological maturity
>2) all technologically mature civilizations lose interest in creating ancestor simulations
>3) neither of these is true and we are simulated consciousnesses
You have to pick 1

>flat-earth theory

Why does this clearly butthurt atheist keep spamming this everywhere instead of providing any arguments? This thread obviously isn't advocating flat-earth theory, you non-thinking monkey - it's addressing the cognitive dissonance of accepting and rejecting two things that are essentially the same.

>all intelligent life in the universe destroys itself or is destroyed before achieving technological maturity

Evidence of that happening right now. We could be furthering ourselves as a species, instead the intelligent genotypes pushes itself toward extinction out of concern for and desire to breed with evolutionary offshoots.

>1) all intelligent life in the universe destroys itself or is destroyed before achieving technological maturity
presupposes technological maturity implies simulated consciousness, which obviously begs the question
>2) all technologically mature civilizations lose interest in creating ancestor simulations
same as above
>3) neither of these is true and we are simulated consciousnesses
same as above, and presupposes the above-mentioned civilizations would have already happened and that, which is the conclusion and thus begs the question, we are the simulation. Even if the two former assumptions were somehow validated, the existence of such civilizations would only imply there are simulated consciousnesses, not that -we- are simulated consciousness.

I assume Elon Musk or some scientist came up with this and not an actual philosopher? because it is obscenely stupid.

the simulation goes on forever until you lose your mind and kill all other people.

You presuppose that with infinite time and functionally infinite resources it is physically impossible to create an ancestor simulation? Do you believe AI is literally impossible? Not just for us but in the universe? That seems like a bigger assumption than mine.

Technological maturity means that an intelligent civilization has discovered every possible technological avenue. They have supercomputers the size of planets. They can harvest the total energy output from stars. Etc.

Nick Bostrom, this is literally his job.

This is plausible but I find it crazy to think that we may be a simulation, inside of a simulation, inside of a simulation, and so on.

>, instead the intelligent genotypes pushes itself toward extinction out of concern for and desire to breed with evolutionary offshoots.
You could say this for all advances in technology as people who would never live to reproduce are now having much easier lives and reproducing. It will happen, regardless.

No, our rulers just fake everything, and tell lies all the time. That's where the artificial vibe comes from. Civilization is no more real than Disneyland.

Pretty cool subject!! Mainstream science is a lie. Trust in chan, pic related

You're wasting your time.
Simulation theory is a Jewish trick.

I will if you can explain the southern cross.
