And since there's strong evidence of him being corrupt(no shit), João "Hot Hands" Moreira decided it was time to act and blow something up. It has really nothing to do with left or right.
As for the president being corrupt, you need to understand that every single politician, no exceptions(really, none) is corrupt. That's how it works here. As a politician, you literally can't do shit, for your own good or for the good of the people you're representing, without bribing someone in some way. It just doesn't happen.
The congress will cockblock any measure you try to implement if you don't pass a few thousand dollars around. Companies will exert their influence and indirectly cockblock you if they don't get their due. And because of that, corruption and bribery are as natural to brazillian politics as breathing. It's been like this ever since... forever, really. It doesn't matter if these measures will actually result in verifiable improvement in several areas of the economy. Nobody works without their allowance.
