Is hanging an ISIS flag outside your window freedom of expression? I tried arguing with my dad about this, and it spiralled into a heated discussion on freedom in general and how to deal with individuals with extremist views. He's in favour of a higher police presence, wants security cameras everywhere and has the 'if you've done nothing wrong, why would you oppose it?' view. I told him how I believe someone should belong on a list for being a terrorist sympathiser, but only after significant evidence has been gathered. I told him I definitely think hanging a flag out your window shouldn't result in being charge or held for anything. In the end he ended up getting angry, saying I'm being 'too PC' and acting as if I don't think the other days events were as horrifying and deserving of absolute condemnation as they were. I shouldn't talk to my family about politics.
