White nationalism is an irrational response to globalism, I agree, but it's a step in the right direction. The logical conclusion of separatist, nationalist ideologies is ethnic nationalism which I see as much more desirable. They are not the same, and ethnic nationalism circumvents your arguments regarding skin pigmentation, as well as any notions of inherent superiority. The whole notion of whiteness is absurd to begin with, as the definition of what qualifies as white is largely subjective. Ethnic groups are much less subjective as they involve not only skin tone, but language and culture as well.
The fact that French and English Canada have never gotten along despite both being more or less "white" is proof that nationalism based on skin tone alone cannot work. Language, history and religion are too large of hurdles to overcome. The nation state is best defined, in my opinion, as the largest group in which it is possible to be effectively unselfish (a la Peter Hitchens). If you share little in common with your neighbour it is harder to be generous.
Your next argument is another I can agree with in part. The welfare state is responsible for rewarding the stupid and lazy, and encourages their propagation. Thus the "socialism" involved in many nationalist ideologies is also undesirable. Instead, a more libertarian, isolationist state is preferable for the majority of people...even those who receive welfare benefits, or foreign aid.
I would also like to add that there has been an increasing divide between an intellectual elite and the rest of us. If you think this hasn't already happened you clearly have not been paying attention and I do not believe a segregation of power and influence to such a degree is desirable at all.
