The problem with the "average" salary in a country with wide disparities is that no one actually earns the average salary, you have the poor and the people doing well. In Lebanon if you're poor that means shit like sweeping shit up in the streets while your young children sell bottles of water and flowers to motorists on the side of the road.
So as for the more upper class ones, well it's relative. You probably don't have an ethiopian servant to cook, clean and take care of the children, but in Lebanon it's pretty common. In Lebanon you might live in a shitty apartment with faucets that give you electric shocks except when the power is out 3 hours a day, but you have people coming to clean up and do your dishes as part of the rent. Too many different things to compare nominal incomes.
