They should be moved to somewhere were the people will actually respect them. New Orleans has spoken, they don't deserve to be honored with these monuments. I only pray that the coming societal shakeup comes soon before they destroy the last traces of the memories of these honored dead.

Well it wasn't legal, and not everyone is the confederate states wanted to leave the union.
Still I think the statues should be put in museum's not destroyed or anything, just not displayed on public land. fly a swastika or a confederate flag on private land as much as you want.
I just always find it amusing that people who are the most "MURICA" often support flying the flag of traitors.
